Title: October 2007 DWS feedback!
Description: What the World is Watching (still)
eStragand - October 1, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
Fans, we are counting down the hours until the beginning of Greatest Month in the History of Our Wesbite! October 2007 will be our greatest spectacular ever!
I have in my hand, the Top 10 Referrals For the Month of September 2007:
1- dawrestlingsite
2- masaaki mochizuki
3- hacksaw jim duggan coliseum home video
4- wwf copps
5- wwf video rants
6- wwe 24/7 review
7- wwf.copps
8- fabulous rougeau brothers theme lyrics
9- kerry von erick
10- raw august 6, 2007
C'mon... people are STILL screwing up "Von Erich"?
Oh yeah, I also got a special MySpace message from Baby Doll. Ha!
For stupidity's sake, I'd like to swap out two spots on our MySpace "top friends" list: Jimmy Valiant and Verne Gagne. Any suggestions on who YOU would like to see up there?
Tempest - October 1, 2007 04:34 AM (GMT)
Greg Gagne and Baby Doll, FTW.

The other day I did a search for "Supercard of Honor II" for the hell of it, and we were the fourth or fifth result. I thought that was pretty neat.

...and we're number 1 for "Hacksaw Jim Duggan Coliseum Home Video"!!
The page title tag seems to help alot. So I keep trying to make those as specific as possible. That's how we get stuff like "RAW August 6, 2007". Hopefully makes us more accessible, as compared to a site that would just have "RAW reviews". Raw is such a generic word that it can be tough to find results unless you enter a good query.
Keeping the breadcrumbs in the title tag helps, too. When you search for "Supercard of Honor II", our site pops as "DaWrestlingSite.com -- wrestling -- current reviews --- Ring of ..." So right there it's telling someone that we have a review. Unless they're wanting to buy the actual show, we're one of the first sites they'll visit.
SamoaRowe - October 1, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
That makes me happy :).
If I can get a good write-up from Friday's Boston ROH show, perhaps I could submit that as a review-worthy piece instead of just a blog entry.
eStragand - October 4, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
Hasn't been a problem at all, but I've been fighting off a bunch of spammer board registrations, lately. Averaging about one a day. It's no biggie-- I just go in and delete 'em. But it does mean that we're getting more overall traffic and in turn, exposure.
Before we launched the site, we'd get maybe one a month if we were lucky.

Don't forget your stop watch for match times.
Tempest - October 13, 2007 08:49 PM (GMT)
Hey ES, if I wrote a review of a full tape I found on Dailymotion of Chris Benoit's best Japanese matches would you post it on 'da site?
I figured I should ask first, all things considered.
eStragand - October 13, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I don't see a problem with that. As long as "Benoit vs. Nancy & Daniel" isn't one of the matches.

God......
Wouldn't that be a snuff film?
But there is a Ultimo Dragon/Benoit match.
Maybe I'll get that in to you. I've still got that movie thing to work on, too.
SamoaRowe - October 14, 2007 01:30 AM (GMT)
I just want to mention how glad I am that ProjectSelfRevolution found us. His review contributions have been outstanding thus far and are especially helpful in this time with Scrooge gone and me busy with an internship.
That, and it's great to see more ROH content on Da Site.
I look forward to Tempest's Benoit review.
eStragand - October 14, 2007 04:50 AM (GMT)
Yeah, PSR and Tempest are definitely in the running for "Rookie of the Year". I think Tempest joined late last year, though. Both of them have been excellent, in my opinion.
SamoaRowe - October 14, 2007 11:37 PM (GMT)
I was really glad to see your new review, ES. It feels like things are picking up again.

I feel the same way....
PSR is amazing with the actual analyzing.
I try to hit some kind of comedy. Whether it works or not is up to you.
:D
eStragand - October 18, 2007 04:14 AM (GMT)
BTW, Tempest and PSR, since you guys have kinda' joined the club, would you like your own DWS emails? Really easy for me to set-up. If so, just say "yea" and I'll send you a PM with all the details.

SamoaRowe - October 19, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
Check out my blog. It's been updated with a rather hilarious video that is critical of the TNA product.
eStragand - October 19, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
BTW, I like that Roy Preppy's doing his thing with the soccer coverage. I just feel bad that nobody's into soccer.
I mean, it's soccer, the "most popular sport in the world"....
...apparently among people who don't have electricity or internet access :)
Big F'N Swigg - October 23, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
I like soccer.
But I'm oblivious to what he's writing about.

I love the game itself... I just haven't ever felt the desire to watch it on tv or keep track of what's going on.

Scrooge Lives!
Well, sort of.... in the latest "24/7 old school house shows" review.

Our New Pal, PSR did! So check it out and give him adulations.

Yeah, I just read the review. Sounds very typical of early FIP. It also makes me wish I had more time for reviews.
eStragand - October 30, 2007 12:19 AM (GMT)
The MySpace profile of DWB favorite The Ass has been deleted and she's no longer on our "top friends" list. So I tossed up Talia Madison to take her place as our "resident hot chick". She's quite bangable, right?
Big F'N Swigg - October 31, 2007 08:42 PM (GMT)
I love how I'm so low on the Myspace friends list. It's pretty sad when LFV, Justin Credible, and some dude whose profile picture is a close up of his abs are higher than me
eStragand - October 31, 2007 08:57 PM (GMT)
The master list of "friends" is ordered from oldest to newest. It's not popularity or anything, just how long you've had that profile. So if you're towards the bottom of the list, that's okay.... means you have a life and haven't had a MySpace page for a long time.
SamoaRowe - October 31, 2007 09:55 PM (GMT)
I've had a myspace for over two years :( .

I've had one for three.
There's nothing wrong with it.

You big into Facebook?
Really though, the only reason I have mine is because most of my friends are still in school. Its an easy way to get in touch with everyone when I need to, because I don't see them every day.
ProjectSelfRevolution - November 1, 2007 01:33 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I pretty much use Facebook.
prof_plague - November 1, 2007 06:58 AM (GMT)
I've considered deleting my MySpace on many occassions, but haven't done so.
