Title: What's Common's best CD?

So, I've been listening to a lot of hip hop lately (Saul Williams, KRS-ONE, Nas) and have been meaning to check out Common. What's his best CD? Start with his newest and work backward? Oldest and go foreward? Something in the middle?

I'd say start at the beginning with Resurrection. That's a great record. Then move your way through. I think all of albums are good in one way or another but Electric Circus sucks.

Cool. Thanks. That's what I tend to do when I'm checking out new artists, but I remembered you and someone else being big on Common, so I figured I'd ask.

I hate Common. Most overrated MC I can think of. I'd skip it all together LFV.

No way! Common is awesome. Mind you, he's gone a bit sellout in the past few years, but he's still talented

OK, that was a bit much I suppose, seeing as the MC's on the radio all pretty much suck (50, etc.). I've actually heard people callhim the best ever, and that in my opinion is truely insane. Plus, he just doesn't seem "hip-hop" to me. Not sure what I mean by that, but there is just something very manufactured about him that I don't dig at all.

Common is about the least manufactured MC out there today. He's been making music for years and has pretty much been the same as far as his style goes. I won't say he's the best ever or anything, but he's definitely ONE of the best ever.
