This is cool (well, for me, at least):
http://www.cbs.com/daytime/price/video/They re-broadcast the most recent episodes. They even have the Wilferd Brimley "Di-a-beetis" commercial!
Watched Carey's first episode and he seemed incredibly nervous. Most glaring problem was his lack of instructional announcing-- like the way Bob Barker would spout out "and the one of you who bids closest to the actual retail price" in a very routine manner. Carey really seemed to struggle on the transitional segments (when the contestant wins the biddging game and runs up on stage). Again, he didn't explain the games, he'd just say stuff like: "oh, we're gonna' play this game and you can win that prize over there".
I think he'll get better with repitition and time. Bob would sometimes annouce and explain each game in a very monotonous and sometimes condescending tone: "No, no Beatrice..come over here. Here, Beatrice! We have TWO prizes for you. Your job is tell us which one of them is the bigger bargain. Yes..ONE of those two". Plus, whenever the contestants would overbid, Bob seemed to get pissed. When it happened TWICE, it seemed like he was about to whup someone!
Carey seemed to ease up during the third game ("It's in the Bag"). He did a better job of explaining the grocery items than Bob did. Bob would've just breezed through that game, and if a contestant would've asked him what an item was, he'd say something like: "what is that? The one in the green box?!?" Carey referred to the items by their brand name, making it easier for the customer to identify, and also made their sponsors happy.
