Mad Dog - April 28, 2007 03:51 AM (GMT)
SMW Wrestling Episode #4: 4/27/07

taped at Pikesville College Gym (Pikeville, KY)

Hosts are Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantell

Video recap of the Memorial Gym Arena show from Tuesday. Things shift to the ring and Bob Caudle with Tammy Sytch, Chris Candido and Brian Lee.

Caudle: Not a very good evening for your boys there. Brian Lee lost challenging Tommy Rich for the SMW Heavyweight Championship and Chris Candido lost to the newly arrived Marty Jannetty. What's next for your team?

Sytch: Well let me tell you a thing or two Caudle. We're going to get revenge on Rich and Jannetty for what they pulled on Tuesday. I went to SMW management and got two main events signed for this very show. This week will see Brian Lee take on Marty Jannetty and next week will see Chris Candido challenge Tommy Rich for the SMW Heavyweight Title.

Lee: That's right. Jannetty, tonight you're stepping into the ring with the wrong man. I'm angry about losing to Rich a few days ago and I'm taking it out on you.

Candido: Rich, you've never faced anyone in SMW as quick as me and I think I'll be taking your title next week.

Caudle: Well, a lot of optimism here. Let's head to ringside for our first match of the night...

Al Snow pinned Joe Lightfoot at 2:18 with the Snow Plow

Commercials

Bob Caudle is at ringside with SMW Heavyweight Champion Tommy Rich.

Caudle: Candido seems very confident about next week's match. Some would even say cocky about his chances. What is your response to him?

Rich You know, Candido is a nice up and coming talent in the world today. But he's just not there yet. I've been all over the world and fought hundreds of opponents with different styles. Candido has spent his career here beating up on inferior opponents. He's a dangerous man but he doesn't have the experience to beat me for this title.

Caudle: So what opponents are in the future for you should you successfully defend against Chris Candido?

Rich: That's a hard question to answer. I think guys like Al Snow, Cactus Jack and Marty Jannetty are the top contenders for my belt right now. If Jannetty beats Brian Lee tonight then I think he'll deserve the next shot at the belt.

Caudle: Some interesting words from the SMW Champion... Let's head back to the ring...

Cactus Jack pinned Pete Sanchez at 1:22 with a flying tackle

Commercials

Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantell are at the announce table.

Caudle: It's almost time for tonight's main event. Brian Lee will take on Marty Jannetty in a few moments. But first I want to get some thoughts about this match up from our color commentator Dutch Mantell. Who do you think needs the win tonight more?

Mantell: Lee definately needs the win more tonight. He's had 2 big losses with the belt on the line and he's starting to slide down that contenders list. He takes the loss tonight and it could be months before he sees another shot at that belt. For Jannetty this is basically a No. 1 Contenders match. He wins and he's first in line for a title shot, he takes a loss and he won't lose too much ground as far as being a contender.

Caudle: Who do you think has the advantage here?

Mantell: I'd say Lee easily has the advantage. He's much stronger than Jannetty and he knows that he has to win. I think you'll see a very intense Brian Lee tonight.

Caudle: Let's head down to the ring for tonight's main event...

Marty Jannetty pinned Brian Lee at 14:50 with a backslide

Bob Caudle catches up with Marty Jannetty backstage after the match.

Caudle: No one has been able to get an interview with this man. He wasn't even a part of SMW a week ago and now he's beaten two of the top talents in the area. What brought you to SMW?

Jannetty: It's simple. The chance to succeed as a singles wrestler. All of these other promotions just wanted me as a tag team wrestler. They offered me no chances to carry the top belt for their company. But the SMW officials came to me and said that if I could win the big matches then I'd get a chance to carry this promotion and their top title. And I plan to do just that. Tommy Rich or Chris Candido, I'm coming for that belt and I'll run whoever I have to to wear it around my waist.

Marty Jannetty walks into the locker room.

Due to extra time in the program stand-by matches will now air.

Buddy Landell pinned Vernon Deaton at 5:00 with a dropkick

Dirty White Boy pinned the Gambler at 1:50 with the Neckbreaker

Tim Horner submits Bill Dixon at 5:42 with a spinning toe hold

SMW Television Episode #5: 5/4/07

taped at Whitley County Middle School (Williamsburg, KY)

Hosts are Bob Caudle, Dutch Mantell and Jim Cornette

Video recap of Marty Jannetty beating Brian Lee last week and the interviews setting up today's title match.

Caudle: Welcome to another edition of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. I'm your host Bob Caudle and with me as always is Dutch Mantell. This week we have a special guest announcer Jim Cornette. We'll be asking his opinions on the title match in just a few moments. Tonight Tommy Rich defends the SMW Heavyweight Title against Chris Candido. What are your opinions on this bout.

Mantell: I think signing this match was a mistake on the part of Sytch. Candido is just getting started and I don't think he's ready for the calibur of opponent that Rich is. I think Rich retains in fairly short order tonight.

Cornette: You know I'm loathe to admit it but Mantell's right. I love Sytch to death and what she's doing here but she made a huge miscalculation with this match. Candido has only been tested once in SMW and he lost that match. Rich has gone out there night after night and beaten several opponents and has wins over the likes of Buddy Landell, Terry Gordy and of course two wins over Brian Lee. Candido's a nice piece of talent but he's just not ready for this kind of a match.

Caudle: Due to time limits we'll be heading to our main event right off the bat so that if it goes 60 minutes you'll be able to see the end. We have several stand-by matches in case it ends early.

Main Event:
SMW Heavyweight Title Match:
Tommy Rich © pinned Chris Candido at 14:08 with the Thesz Press

After the match Brian Lee runs in and it's a two on one beatdown of Tommy Rich. They tie him up on the ropes and Lee chokes him while Candido puts the boots to him. Marty Jannetty finally runs in with a chair for the save.

Caudle: We've got the SMW Champion now with us. He just suffered quite a beating at the hands of Sytch's group. What are your plans now?

Rich: Well, Tammy Sytch and her little boy toys are out of the picture now. Both are off the contenders list and it's going to be awhile before either earn another shot. So frankly, they can hate me all they want but they aren't my problem. My next concern is getting ready to defend against Marty Jannetty. He's going to be a very tough opponent.

Caudle: Thanks for your time. We'll be back after these commercials.

Commercial Breaks

Stand-By Match:
D-Lo Brown pinned Joe Lightfoot at 4:04 with a forearm

Bob Caudle and Jim Cornette are at ringside.

Caudle: This coming Tuesday will be an eight team tournament for the SMW Tag Team Titles. Your team the Heavenly Bodies have entered that tournament. How do you feel their chances are and will the recent loss to the Public Enemy hurt them.

Cornette: What kind of stupid question is that Caudle. The loss to Public Enemy was only a minor setback. You put us in there with them again and we'll smack them all over the state of Kentucky. I promise you this. We're leaving that tournament on Tuesday with nothing less than those Tag Team Title belts around the waists of the Heavenly Bodies.

Caudle: We'll be back after these commericals.

Commercial Breaks

Stand-By Match:
Bobby Eaton pinned Vinnie Valentino at 4:34 with a low blow

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner better known as the Lightning Express.

Caudle: Another team that has entered Tuesday's SMW Tag Team Title Tournament. How do you feel that you can fair against teams like the Heavenly Bodies?

Armstrong: We've shown that we can hang with almost any team out there. We had the NWA World Tag Team Champions on the ropes a couple of times during our title shots. I think several teams are looking past us and that will work to our advantage.

Horner: A lot of people think of us as low tier guys in wrestling. I'd like to open some eyes by winning the titles. Don't be surprised to see it happen.

Caudle: We'll be back after these commercials.

Commercial Breaks

Stand-By Match:
Bob Armstrong pinned Ken Jugan at 7:34 with a sunset flip

Commercial Breaks

Stand-By Match:
Road Dogg pinned John Bonello at 2:51 with a body press

Stand-By Match:

SMW Wrestling Episode #6: 5/11/07

taped at Cumberland High School (Cumberland, KY)

Highlights of the Gangstas beating Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan to win the SMW Tag Team Titles.

Hosts are Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel

Caudle; Welcome to another edition of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. As you saw at the top of the hour the Gangstas were crowned as the first SMW Tag Team Champions a few days ago. We'll have the champions on the show later for an interview. Jim Cornette has also demanded to speak his mind tonight and will also be joining us. In the main event Bob Holly will face Terry Gordy. Also in action will be Chris Jericho, Jerry Lynn, Buddy Landell and the Dirty White Boy. Let's head to ringside for our first match...

Jerry Lynn pinned Jake Milleman at 2:08 with a body press

Commercial Breaks

Bob Caudle is at ringside with New Jack, Mustafa and D'Lo Brown.

Caudle: I'm here with the Gangstas who won the tag team titles last Tuesday. So how does it feel to be wearing the gold.

New Jack: It feels damned good. No one gave us a chance in that tournament and even the other teams overlooked us. Everyone was all over losers like the Heavenly Bodies. Well we have the belts now and we'll face anyone anywhere. If that means fighting in the streets then we're game.

Caudle: Thanks for your time. Let's head back to the ring...

Buddy Landell submits Vernon Deaton at 2:29 with the Figure-Four Leglock

Buddy Landell stops at the commentary table and grabs one of the mics.

Landell: I want to issue an open challenge to anyone in the back for the City Coliseum show on May 28th. I want another shot at Tommy Rich and the SMW Heavyweight Title and I can't do that facing scrubs every week.

Commercial Break

Dirty White Boy pinned Hank Meadows at 3:31 with a vertical suplex

Jim Cornette comes out and sits down at the commentary table.

Mantel: You look really happy about something this week.

Cornette: Indeed I am. I have in my hands a contract for next week's show. The Gangstas will have to defend the SMW Tag Team Titles against my team of the Heavenly Bodies. We're going to correct an injustice next week.

Caudle: It seems to me that you guys haven't been able to adjust to the more hardcore style of teams like Public Enemy or the Gangstas. How are you going to overcome how they blatantly break the rules.

Cornette: I guess we'll just have to be as vicious and blood thirsty as those goon teams. Mark my words. Next week there will be new SMW Tag Team Champions

Caudle: We'll be back after this short commercial break...

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Bob Armstrong.

Caudle: Mr. Armstrong has demanded some tv time. What's on your mind?

Armstrong: I heard Buddy Landell out here running his mouth earlier tonight. He wants an opponent for the 28th well he's got one. Landell... I'll see you in Knoxville.

Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our next match...

Chris Jericho submits the Black Demon at 1:44 with the Walls of Jericho

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is at ringside with SMW Heavyweight Champion Tommy Rich.

Caudle: It's just been announced that you'll be defending the title against Marty Jannetty on the 28th in Knoxville, TN. How are you planning to approach the match?

Rich: Well I can't give away too much but this is going to be a tough match for me. Jannetty is a very good all around wrestler and he's much more experienced than a lot of guys that I've faced. The only weakness I see in him is being primarily a tag team wrestler. I think his conditioning is questionable and that could be my primary advantage. But it will be nice to be in a match where I don't have to contend with cheating or managers interfering.

Bob Caudle: Let's head to the ring for this week's main event...

Main Event:
Bob Holly vs. Terry Gordy - 30 Minute Time Limit Draw

Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel are at ringside.

Caudle: Thanks for joining us this week. Join us next week as the Gangstas will be defending the SMW Tag Team Titles against the Heavenly Bodies. Also if there's time Brian Lee, Marty Jannetty, Bob Armstrong and Tracey Smothers will be in action.

Mad Dog - June 17, 2007 04:43 AM (GMT)
SMW Wrestling Episode 7: 5/18/07

taped at Lincoln Memorial University (Harrogate, TN)

Hosts are Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel

Caudle: Due to time limitations we're going to head right to the ring with our main event of the week. The Gangstas defending the SMW Tag Team Titles against the Heavenly Bodies...

Main Event:
SMW Tag Team Title Match:
Gangstas © d. Heavenly Bodies at 25:53 when Pritchard is pinned with the Running Powerslam

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Brian Lee pinned Ken Jugan at 1:50 with the Primetime Slam

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Tammy Sytch, Brian Lee and Chris Candido.

Caudle: So what are your plans now that both of your men are out of contention for the SMW Heavyweight Title?

Sytch: What I want, I get. These two might be out of contention but they can still get a shot in the future. Or I can simply sign a new wrestler to get a shot at the title quicker. I'll have that belt sooner or later.

Caudle: We'll be right back...

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Tracey Smothers pinned the Black Demon at 2:09 with a bodyslam

Bob Caudle calls Smothers over after his match.

Caudle: I'm here with the newest wrestler in SMW... Tracey Smothers. What brings you to our area of the country.

Smothers: I'm here for three things. Glory, money and to hurt people. I did a lot of looking and SMW looks to be the ripest for me to pluck.

Caudle: We'll be back...

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Marty Jannetty pinned Jake Milleman at 2:51 with a clothesline

Bob Caudle stops Marty Jannetty for an interview.

Caudle: On the 28th you'll be challenging Tommy Rich for the SMW Heavyweight Title. Many think you're in over your head due to being a primarily tag team focused wrestler.

Jannetty: Then all I have to say is watch what I do with this chance. I plan to go into Knoxville and I plan to beat Rich for the title. I came to SMW because they gave me an opportunity and I want to show the world that if given the chance I can be a top level wrestler.

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Bob Armstrong pinned Bill Dixon at 2:36 with the Inside Cradle

After the match Buddy Landell attacks. He stomps on Armstrong and irish whips him into the ropes. Armstrong ducks a clothesline and then levels Landell with one of his own. Armstrong goes for a punch but Landell bails out of the ring.

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel are at ringside.

Caudle: Thank you for joining us tonight. Join us next week as the Public Enemy will face the Heavenly Bodies in the main event. Also in action will be Bob Holly, Cactus Jack, Buddy Landell, the Dirty White Boy and Brad Armstrong.

SMW Wrestling Episode #8: 5/25/07

taped at Bluefield Auditorium (Bluefield, WV)

Hosts are Bob Caudle, Dutch Mantel and SMW Heavyweight Champion Tommy Rich

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Dutch Mantel and Tommy Rich.

Caudle: Welcome to another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. We're just 3 days away from our big show at the City Coliseum. The main event of that show will be Tommy Rich defending the SMW Heavyweight Championship against Marty Jannetty. Joining us on the 3rd mic this week will be none other than Tommy Rich. So Tommy are you ready for your title defense.

Rich: You better believe I am Bob. I've been training hard and I've never felt better in my whole life. I feel very confident in my ability to successfully defend my title.

Caudle: You mentioned a few weeks ago that you believe Jannetty lacks the conditioning to beat you. Do you still believe that to be true?

Rich: Yes. He can go to the gym and he can do all the cardio exercises in the world but you only gain endurance in that ring by getting in there and wrestling long matches. The simple fact is that Jannetty has spent the majority of his career as a tag team wrestler and hasn't had the chance to gain that endurance. If this match goes past 20 minutes I expect him to wear down really quickly.

Caudle: Tommy will be staying with us for the entire program this week and giving his insights to several of the match ups on our big show at the City Coliseum in 3 short days. As for tonight we have the Heavenly Bodies vs. Public Enemy in the main event. Buddy Landell, Cactus Jack, the Dirty White Boy, Brad Armstrong and Bob Holly will also be in action tonight. Let's head to the ring for our first match...

Dirty White Boy pinned Pete Sanchez at 3:45 with kicks to the head

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Jim Cornette.

Caudle: A bad week for Jim Cornette and his team the Heavenly Bodies last week.

Highlights of the Bodies losing to the Gangstas is played.

Caudle: It seems that you guys just can't beat these brawler teams. You're 0-3 against the Gangstas and Public Enemy. How are you guys going to succeed here if you can't cope with that style of team?

Cornette: I'll tell you how Caudle. By being the best wrestlers these hick fans have ever seen. Yeah, we've lost a few bouts to underhanded tactics at the hands of the Gangstas and Public Enemy. But I'm not worried. Those guys are all garbage wrestlers. Sooner or later pure skill will win out over there weapons and pure luck. I promise you, the Heavenly Bodies will wear the SMW Tag Team Titles sooner rather than later. Now excuse me. I have to prepare my team for our match.

Caudle: Let's head back to the ring...

Cactus Jack pinned Joe Lightfoot at 1:00 with the Double Arm DDT

Bob Caudle manages to catch up to Cactus Jack and starts to ask a question but Jack acts like he'll attack so Caudle backs off.

Caudle: Well, certainly an unpredictable man is the mysterious and blood thirsty Cactus Jack. We'll have Marty Jannetty for an interview after this commercial break...

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Marty Jannetty.

Caudle: What's your response to Tommy Rich's claim that you lack the conditioning to beat him in a longer match.

Jannetty: I can see his point. I have been a tag team worker for most of my career. And tag team wrestlers are notorious for not getting it done in singles matches due to lack of endurance. Well all I can say is we'll just have to wait and see what happens on the 28th.

Caudle: It's been a relatively quiet lead up to this title match. Why haven't we seen the usual underhanded tactics and trash talking between you guys?

Jannetty: Because we respect each other. Sure we'll battle tooth and nail once the 28th gets here but that's as far as it goes. This is just business because we both want the same thing. I'll have no problem shaking the hand of Tommy Rich no matter what after our match.

Caudle: Well I'm not afraid to admit that I can't wait for that match. Let's head back to the ring...

Buddy Landell pinned Vernon Deaton at 9:00 with the Piledriver

Buddy Landell stops at the commentators table again and grabs one of the mics.

Landell: Can you believe how Bob Armstrong just blatantly cheap shotted me last week?

Rich: What are you talking about. We all saw you started everything.

Landell: Who asked you Rich. If you weren't such a coward I would've taken that belt from you already.

Rich: You had your shot and you lost.

Rich starts to get up but Mantel holds them apart.

Landell: You keep that belt nice and shiny. After I kick Armstrong all around Knoxville I'll be coming back for that.

Landell taps on the belt and walks away. Rich cools off a bit and sits back at the table.

Caudle: Tensions are starting to run a little high here. Our main event when we return...

Commercial Break

Main Event:
Public Enemy d. Heavenly Bodies at 9:18 when Lane is pinned with the Spinebuster

Jim Cornette storms over to the commentators table.

Cornette: What was that garbage. I thought they called this wrestling and not street fighting. They should've been DQed at least 5 times during that match. I find it offensive that SMW would let thugs like these anywhere in the ring.

Jim Cornette storms off.

Caudle: 0-4 as the Heavenly Bodies still can't find an answer to the so called hardcore style of some of the tag teams in SMW. After we return some of the stand-by matches to finish off the hour...

Commerical Break

Stand-By Match:
Brad Armstrong pinned John Bonello at 5:36 with a vertical suplex

Bob Caudle stops Brad Armstrong for an interview.

Caudle: Are you and Tim Horner ready for your title shot against the Gangstas?

Armstrong: As ready as we'll ever be. We feel our speed will overcome their brawling and hardcore style. We've surprised a lot of people here and we hope to continue doing so.

Caudle: Back after these messages...

Commerical Break

Stand-By Match:
Bob Holly pinned Vinnie Valentino at 3:25 with the Dropkick

Caudle: Join us next week to find out the results to the big City Coliseum show. Will Tommy Rich still be the SMW Heavyweight Champion or will Jannetty prove he's a top level singles wrestler? In next week's main event Cactus Jack will face the Dirty White Boy in a huge match up. Also in action will be Al Snow, Terry Gordy, Tommy Rich, Tracey Smothers, Tim Horner, Brian Lee and Buddy Landell. Join us next week or in 3 days if you live in the Knoxville area.

Mad Dog - June 17, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
Smoky Mountain Wrestling Episode #9: 6/1/07

taped at Whitley County Middle School (Williamsburg, KY)

Hosts are Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel

Marty Jannetty catches Tommy Rich with the Missile Dropkick and pins him to become the new SMW Heavyweight Champion. As he celebrates Jake Roberts comes out of the crowd and DDTs him. Roberts lays the boots to him until Tommy Rich recovers. Rich grabs Roberts and starts pounding on him with right hands. Just as Rich is about to finish him off Brian Lee and Chris Candido storm the ring. Rich catches Candido with a clothesline but eats a big boot from Lee. It's a 3 on 2 beatdown now.

Caudle: Welcome to another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. As you just saw we have a new SMW Heavyweight Champion... Marty Jannetty. Jake Roberts has also come to SMW and he appears to be aligned with Tammy Sytch and her group. We'll try and get a word with him and our new champion later today.

Mantel: It was a great night in Knoxville. Marty Jannetty proved all of his doubters wrong by winning one of the top singles titles in the sport today. The Gangstas managed to hold onto the tag titles yet again. And it appears that Cactus Jack is inching ever closer to that coveted No. 1 Contenders slot.

Caudle: That he is. We have a great show for you tonight. Cactus Jack will face the Dirty White Boy in our main event. Also in action will be Tommy Rich, Terry Gordy, Brian Lee, Al Snow, Tracey Smothers, Tim Horner and Buddy Landell. Let's head to the ring for our first match of the night...

Tracey Smothers pinned Jose Rivera at 2:18 with a snap suplex

Tracey Smothers stops with Bob Caudle for a quick interview.

Caudle: Another impressive victory for the newcomer Tracey Smothers.

Smothers: 3-0. Another couple of months at this pace and I'll be setting my sights on that SMW Heavyweight Title. It would make a great edition to my trophy case at home.

Caudle: Jake Roberts when we return...

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is standing at ringside with Jake Roberts.

Caudle: I think the question on everyone's mind is, are you working with Tammy Sytch and her group?

Roberts: You bet I am.

Caudle: Why join up with them?

Roberts: I'll tell you why. Miss. Sytch is paying me a lot of money for my services. She wants that SMW Title and she's willing to give me a $50,000 bonus if I can win it for her. As long as there's a pay chech in the mail every week I'll do whatever she wants me to. Marty Jannetty, you're nothing but a loser. You've always been a loser and you'll always be a loser. Enjoy that belt for the short time you have it because it'll be mine soon.

Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our next match...

Tommy Rich pinned the Black Demon at 3:53 with the Thesz Press

Bob Caudle stops Tommy Rich for an interview.

Caudle: So where do you go now?

Rich: I'll tell you where... Brian Lee, it appears we have some unfinished business together. I want you in the ring at the next house show.

Caudle: We'll be right back...

Commercial Break

Brian Lee pinned Bill Dixon at 0:52 with a roll up

Bob Caudle stops Brian Lee for an interview.

Lee: You don't even have to ask Caudle. I accept the challenge.

Caudle: There you have it folks. Tommy Rich vs. Brian Lee III later this month. Let's head back to the ring...

Terry Gordy submits Frankie Williams at 2:47 with a figure-four leglock

Commercial Break

Al Snow pinned Vinnie Valentino at 4:35 with a shoulder block

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Marty Jannetty.

Caudle: I've just been informed that Marty Jannetty will defend the SMW Heavyweight Title against Jake Roberts later this month. Are you happy with that match up.

Jannetty: Yes, I'm extremely happy. I spent the last several days campaigning for that match up.

Caudle: Surely there are higher contenders that deserve consideration before him though.

Jannetty: I don't care. It's personal between Roberts and me now. The highlight of my career and he soiled it. Now it's time for some payback. He's never going to take this belt from me. He would have to kill me and then pry the belt out of my cold dead hands first.

Caudle: Our main event when we return...

Commercial Break

Main Event:
Cactus Jack pinned the Dirty White Boy at 13:16 with the Piledriver

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Tim Horner pinned Snake Brown at 3:09 with the Dropkick

Stand-By Match:
Buddy Landell pinned John Bonello at 6:19 with a throat chop

Caudle: Well, that's all the time we have for this week. Join us next week as the Junior Heavyweight Championship tournament kicks off with Brad Armstrong vs. Jerry Lynn in our main event. Also in action will be Louie Spicolli, Jake Roberts, Lance Storm, Doug Furnas and D'Lo Brown.

So any comments? Enjoying it?

As for the house shows. I won't post them here unless you really want me to. I was kind of going for the feeling of just watching the television show. The next few shows are going to see some new faces popping up witb Boo Bradley (Balls Mahoney), the Night Stalker (Bryan Clark) and Taz.

Smoky Mountain Wrestling Episode #10: 6/8/07

taped at Paintsville High School (Paintsville, KY)

Hosts are Bob Caudle, Dutch Mantel and Jim Cornette

Caudle: Welcome to another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. We've got the start of the SMW Junior Heavyweight Title Tournament starting tonight as Jerry Lynn takes on Brad Armstrong in our main event. Also in action tonight will be Louie Spicolli, Doug Furnas, Lance Storm, D'Lo Brown and Jake Roberts.

Cornette: And you're forgetting the best part Caudle. I'll be sitting in for the entire show.

Mantel: I think he was trying not to chase all the viewers at home away right off the bat.

Cornette: Who asked you?

Caudle: I'm being told there's something going on backstage. We'll get cameras there as quickly as possible.

The camera gets backstage to see Jake Roberts, Brian Lee and Chris Candido beating down Marty Jannetty. Security arrives and manages to get Jannetty to safety.

Caudle: SMW management really needs to do something about Tammy Sytch and her group. Attacking people outside of matches is just uncalled for.

Cornette: Don't give me that Caudle. SMW management needs to get rid of all these hardcore wrestlers. I thought the name of the game was wrestling not street fighting.

Mantel: You're just saying that because you're boys are 0-4 against those kinds of teams.

Cornette: Shut up, Mantel!

Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our first match...

Louie Spicolli pinned Frankie Williams at 4:24 with a clothesline

Commercial Break

D'Lo Brown pinned Joe Lightfoot at 2:25 with a body press

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Bob Armstrong.

Caudle: I noticed you've signed a match with Cactus Jack for our big show in Whitesville, VA on the 19th. Is there a reason you didn't sign a rematch with Buddy Landell. After all there wasn't a winner in your last match.

Armstrong: Landell refused to fight me at the show. I guess he's too much of a coward to face me again.

Caudle: Do you think there will be a match in the future?

Armstrong: Who knows.

Caudle: Cactus Jack has looked quite impressive since showing up in SMW. He beat the Dirty White Boy in pretty easy fashion last week.

Armstrong: He's a very tough opponent and he'll do whatever it takes to win. But I like a challenge and if I win this match I'll be next in line for a shot at the SMW Heavyweight Title. I think that's worth the risk of taking a match with Jack.

Caudle: We'll be right back...

Commercial Break

Lance Storm pinned the Black Demon at 1:08 with a side roll

Jake Roberts pinned John Bonello at 5:25 with the DDT

Bob Caudle stops Jake Roberts for an interview.

Caudle: How can you guys justify the way you've been attacking Marty Jannetty out of the ring?

Roberts: I don't have to justify myself to anyone. It's all about the money here and I intend to collect on that $50,000 that Tammy Sytch is offering me for winning the belt. So if I can injure Jannetty before the 19th then I'll do it.

Caudle: We'll be right back with our main event...

Main Event:
SMW Junior Heavyweight Title Tournament:
Brad Armstrong pinned Jerry Lynn at 16:38 with a flying clothesline

Bob Caudle stops Brad Armstrong for an interview.

Caudle: An impressive win for the veteran Armstrong this week. Will you remain in a tag team with Tim Horner if you win the Junior Heavyweight belt?

Armstrong: Of course. Just because I'd be a singles champion wouldn't effect my tag team work. But I don't want to talk about it. Chris Candido or Lance Storm will make for a big challenge. I don't want to get too ahead of myself.

Bob Caudle: We'll be back with our stand-by match to fill out the hour...

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Doug Furnas pinned Pete Sanchez at 6:32 with a big elbow

Caudle: Join us next week as we feature the next match in our SMW Junior Heavyweight Title Tournament as Chris Candido faces Lance Storm. Also in action will be Taz, Road Dogg, Bob Armstrong, Bobby Eaton, Boo Bradley, Bob Holly and Doink the Clown.

Smoky Mountain Wrestling Episode #11: 6/15/07

taped at Freedom Hall (Johnson City, TN)

Hosts are Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel

Caudle: Welcome to another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. We're just 4 days away from our big show in Whitesville, VA. We'll go over the card for that show later on tonight. In tonight's main event we have Chris Candido vs. Lance Storm in the SMW Junior Heavyweight Title Tournament. Also in action we have Taz, Road Dogg, Bob Armstrong, Bobby Eaton, Boo Bradley, Bob Holly and Doink the Clown.

Let's head to the ring for our first match...

Bob Armstrong pinned Aldo Marino at 1:00 with the Knee Lift

Bob Caudle is standing at ringside with SMW Heavyweight Champion Marty Jannetty.

Jannetty: Roberts, you've been sneak attacking me for a few weeks now. But I've got someone watching my back now.

Tommy Rich joins them.

Jannetty: That's right. The former champ and the current champ working together. You won't catch me alone anymore. Let's see how you do when things are on a more equal level. But that's still just background noise. The real test is when you step into the ring with me. I'm not going to give up this belt so easily.

Rich: I just want to mention Brian Lee quickly. Brian, I've beaten you twice already. I hope you aren't doing this as a quick jump back into title contention.

Caudle: We'll be back after these messages...

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is standing at ringside with Public Enemy.

Caudle: I'm here with the Public Enemy. They'll be challenging the Gangstas for the SMW Tag Team Titles in Whitesville, VA on the 19th.

Grunge: That's right. It's going to be a bloody street fight and we're looking forward to it.

Caudle: You guys bend the rules quite a bit. Are you going to tone that down in a title match since they can't change hands on a DQ or a count out.

Rock: Hell no. We do what we do regardless. Breaking the rules has gotten us this far and it'll win us the titles.

Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our next match...

Road Dogg pinned Jake Milleman at 3:21 with a belly to belly suplex

Bob Caudle is standing at ringside with the NWA World Tag Team Champions the Rock N Roll Express.

Caudle: Welcome to the program guys. What brings you back to SMW?

Gibson: We've signed a match to defend these belts against the Heavenly Bodies in 3 weeks.

Morton: That's right. SMW is our favorite promotion and we try to sign matches with teams from here as much as possible. So tune in 3 weeks from today to see us defending the titles.

Caudle: We'll be right back...

Commmercial Break

Taz submits Torpedo Guzman at 2:45 with the Tazmission

Bobby Eaton pinned John Bonello at 4:42 with a side suplex

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is standing at ringside with Jake Roberts.

Caudle: Some interesting developments as Tommy Rich is now in the corner of Marty Jannetty. How does this effect your strategy leading up to the 19th?

Roberts: It changes nothing. Tammy Sytch's group still outnumbers them 3 to 2. I plan to leave the state of Virginia as the new SMW Heavyweight Champion and $50,000 richer.

Caudle: Don't you worry about overlooking the current champion. He seems to almost be an afterthought.

Roberts: I'm not overlooking him. I just know that I can beat him quite easily. As I've said before. He's a tag team wrestler moonlighting as a singles wrestler. I've been a singles wrestler my entire career and I've also been more successful. Jannetty's win here was a total fluke.

Caudle: Let's head back to the ring...

Doink the Clown pinned Bill Dixon at 3:35 with the Flying Knee Drop

Commercial Break

Main Event:
SMW Junior Heavyweight Title Tournament:
Lance Storm d. Chris Candido by DQ at 9:43 when Candido hits the ref

Nice diary, but what's up with these shows taking place in 2007?

Mad Dog - June 19, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
Just the way I went with it when I started my site back in April. I'll try to keep up with posting these every Friday now that I have it up to date.

Smoky Mountain Wrestling Episode #12: 6/22/07

taped at East High School (Morristown, TN)

Hosts are Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel

Marty Jannetty rolls up Jake Roberts and gets the pin to retain the title. Brian Lee and Chris Candido charge the ring and it's a 3 on 1 beatdown. Roberts DDTs Jannetty right onto the title belt. A bloodied Tommy Rich slides into the ring with a chair. He smashes Brian Lee with the chair as Candido and Roberts bail out. It's a stand off as the clip ends.

Bob Caudle: Welcome to another edition of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Tonight we'll be going over the fallout from our show in Whitesville, VA. Marty Jannetty as you just saw is still the SMW Heavyweight Champion and he retained by pinning Jake Roberts in 1:25.

Mantel: Yep, he caught Roberts completely off guard with that roll up attempt and got him pinned quickly. Tammy Sytch is not a happy woman right now.

Caudle: In our main event tonight Bob Holly will face off with the newcomer the Night Stalker.

Mantel: It should be a very interesting match. The Night Stalker debuted in Whitesville and beat Boo Bradley in very impressive fashion. He's a big guy with some agility and I think he could become the SMW Heavyweight Champion down the line.

Caudle: Also in action tonight will be Taz, Tim Horner, Doink the Clown, Tracey Smothers, Doug Furnas and Jerry Lynn. Now before we head to the ring for our first match we've got the new SMW Junior Heavyweight Champion Lance Storm with us. He won that belt by beating Brad Armstrong in a tournament final. So who do you plan to make the first title defense against?

Storm: I think it's only fair to give Brad Armstrong a rematch for the title. He gave me a good match in the final.

Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our first match...

Taz pins Hank Meadows at 1:49 with kicks to the body

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is standing at ringside with Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies

Caudle: In two weeks you'll be facing the Rock N Roll Express for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. To me they've seemed utterly unbeatable since winning those belts for the first time back in April. How do you plan to stop them?

Cornette: That's a very good question Bob. They've only lost one match since this whole NWA thing started back in April. So I used my sources to get a copy of the match where they lost to the Masked Superstar and the Super Destroyer. I've been watching that tape over and over again to see what they did to beat the RnRs and take the titles.

Caudle: Any luck yet.

Cornette: We've developed some strategies. Though admittedly we don't have an answer for the Double Dropkick. They hit that and it appears we're screwed no matter what. We just have to hope to get in the ropes or that the parnter can make a save.

Caudle: How good do you feel your chances are?

Cornette: I feel we have an excellent chance of pulling off a win for this one. The RnR haven't faced a team as well rounded as the Heavenly Bodies. That will be their undoing.

Caudle: Let's go back to the ring...

Tim Horner pinned Vinnie Valentino at 12:04 with a body press

Bob Caudle is standing at ringside with SMW Heavyweight Champion Marty Jannetty.

Caudle: Next week you will be defending the SMW Heavyweight Title against the up and coming Louie Spicolli. How are you preparing for him.

Jannetty: I've been trying to study him as best as I can. Unfortunately there isn't a ton of footage of the guy out there. My best real look into how he works was at the last show when he beat the Dirty White Boy. He's a pretty tough kid. I'm just going to have to take advantage of the fact that he has no experience in the ring other than a few matches.

Caudle: Will you be giving Jake Roberts a rematch in the near future?

Jannetty: Why should I? He couldn't even make it to 90 seconds the last time we fought. I would consider it if he had had a better showing.

Caudle: Who's the No. 1 Contender in your opinion?

Jannetty: Cactus Jack is without a doubt the No. 1 Contender. He's beaten everyone in SMW up until this point. His only loss came in a tag team match. If I get past Spicolli he'll probably be my next title defense.

Caudle: We'll be right back after these messages...

Commercial Break

Bob Caudle is at ringside with the SMW Tag Team Champions the Gangstas and D'Lo Brown.

Caudle: I'm told you have a special challenge for Public Enemy.

New Jack: Yes we do. SMW officials DQed Public Enemy during our match. We don't roll that way. We want a rematch with those chumps and we want it in a cage where no one can tell us when it's time to stop.

Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our main event...

Main Event:
Bob Holly vs. the Night Stalker - Double DQ at 15:46 for constant brawling

Caudle: We'll be right back with our stand by matches to fill out the hour...

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Tracey Smothers pinned Bill Dixon at 2:03 with a vertical suplex

Stand-By Match:
Jerry Lynn submits John Bonello at 3:00 with an ankle lock

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Doug Furnas pinned Snake Brown at 1:28 with the Samoan Drop

Stand-By Match:
Doink the Clown pinned Angelo Gomez at 1:23 with a big elbow

Caudle: Thank you for joining us. Next week Tommy Rich defends the SMW Heavyweight Title against Louie Spicolli.

Mad Dog - July 2, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
Smoky Mountain Wrestling Episode #13: 6/29/07

taped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds (Jefferson City, TN)

Hosts are Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel

Caudle: Welcome to another exciting edition of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Tonight we have a big main event as Marty Jannetty defends the SMW Heavyweight Title against Louie Spicolli. How do you think this match will play out Dutch?

Mantel: I think Jannetty has a definate advantage here. Both men are well rounded but Spicolli is still a relative newcomer while Jannetty is a seasoned veteran. Spicolli could still surprise though. If he wants it bad enough he'll take it.

Caudle: Due to the fact that this match could go the entire show we're going right to our main event...

Main Event:
SMW Heavyweight Title Match:
Marty Jannety © pinned Louie Spicolli at 10:05 with a flying clothesline

After the match Cactus Jack attacks. Jannetty ducks a clothesline and catches Jack with a superkick. Jannetty goes for a clothesline but Jack throws salt in his eyes. Jack grabs a chair from outside the ring and piledrives Jannetty onto it.

Commercial Break

Caudle: What an awful attack we just saw by that lunatic Cactus Jack. I don't think we've ever seen such a vile attack here in SMW. Someone should petition the Championship Committee to strip him of his title shot or something. We'll be going to stand by matches to fill out the hour this week...

Stand-By Match:
Boo Bradley pinned Vernon Deaton at 9:09 with a body press

Bob Caudle is at ringside with Jim Cornette.

Cornette: No need for asking questions. My team has struggled against those non-wrestler garbage teams of late but next week we have a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Championship. We've studied the Rock N Roll Express for the last several weeks and we've finally discovered their biggest weakness. So tune in next week if you want to see the best team in the world claim their rightful prize. Now play those commercials...

Caudle: That's my line.

Cornette: Shut up Caudle...

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Kevin Sullivan pinned Frankie Williams at 1:49 with a snap suplex

Caudle: Kevin Sullivan returning to SMW. Where have you been since the Tag Team Title tournament?

Sullivan: That's for me to know. I came back to back up my brother Cactus Jack. He's got a big match coming up and I don't want to see him cheated of his rightful station here. That's all I have to say...

Caudle: Strange words from a strange man. We'll be right back...

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
the Dirty White Boy pinned Hank Meadows at 5:05 with a roll up

Caudle: I'm here with the Dirty White Boy who we just say rack up yet another win.

DWB: I wanted to throw a challenge out there to either Brian Lee or Jake Roberts. They've been outnumbering Tommy Rich and Marty Jannetty in most situations. I want to even those odds up a bit. So you boys decide amongst yourselves and then let me know.

Caudle: We'll be right back...

Commercial Break

Stand-By Match:
Chris Candido pinned John Bonello at 2:36 with the Blonde Bombshell

Stand-By Match:
Ricky Morton pinned Bill Dixon at 1:40 with a bridged suplex

The Heavenly Bodies attack. It's a 2 on 1 beatdown until Robert Gibson hits the ring. A giant brawl erupts. Finally they shoot Stan Lane into the ropes and hit the Double Dropkick. They double team Tom Pritchard a bit and finish him off with the Double Dropkick.

Caudle: Join us next week as the Rock N Roll Express defend the NWA World Tag Team Titles against the Heavenly Bodies. See you then...
