So, something I just never quite got around to posting over here. About a week or so ago, I had a wonderful day:

Today turned into a mighty fine day, despite work being dead as hell, me making no money, and it raining all fuckin day. Things all turned around when I got a phone call from a guy I work with, about 2 o clock this afternoon while I was standing around at work doing nothing. He muttered one word to me: Rocklahoma.

What is Rocklahoma? Also known as Rock Fever Fest, it is a 3 day rock concert taking place in Pryor, Oklahoma, a town of about 8500. Think kind of like a woodstock feel, out in a big field, with a huge stage, and a reported 50,000 expected available tickets. And I'm going....

Oh wait, I forgot that one part....

ITS ALL FUCKING 80'S HAIR METAL!!!!

SO Fuck Me that is amazing. Now admittedly, I don't know all of those bands. But I do know a TON of them. And I'm researching and studying all of the music I do and don't know as we speak, preparing myself. July 13-15, and my buddy and I are officially going, as we dropped the (ashamedly high amount of) cash tonight, and bound ourself to this insanity. VIP passes. Free beer the whole weekend, plus buffet-style free meals 3 times a day, plus we'll be camping (passing out in a tent) on location. This could be the coolest thing ever.

Sounds pretty cool. I saw Slaughter and Skid Row at the sky festival in these parts a few years ago, and was amused at the crowd it attracted.

And I saw Poison when they were in the front row at the first Raw I went to. They left right before the main event for some reason.

Searched online and forwarded it to my crew. We might be going as well. Seriously.

One question, though: you're telling me Lita Ford was too fucking busy to make it to ROCKLAHOMA? Bitch.

Now if they can only dig up Loudness or Black and Blue...

If you're there, we owe it to ourselves to at least say Hi. I still want to know how bizarre it must be to meet someone in real life from an online messageboard.

They just added like 2400 more VIP tickets too. Expensive, and not close to the stage (well, mine are :)) but the perks are fucking nice.

I may be going to see Ratt, White Lion and Poison when they come to Columbus this summer. All depends on how much tickets are.
