Those Irish love to fight.
And so do their Leprechauns!
Real F'n Show - April 19, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
Still needing picks from WMD, Mad Dog, and TehDoct0r (MIA again?)...
dynamite kido - April 19, 2007 09:55 PM (GMT)
So is it safe to say that if you miss out you get a goose egg this time?
Real F'n Show - April 20, 2007 12:44 AM (GMT)
Yeah the only reason I gave them 10 last time was because of the late thread. This one's on time, so whoever doesn't get picks in gets no points at all.
whitemilesdavis - April 20, 2007 02:59 AM (GMT)
I'm gonna win!
But I have to go figure out who half these guys are first.
Real F'n Show - April 20, 2007 04:15 AM (GMT)
This show's nothing compared to the mess of a card that was the last Pride show. I at least know 7 of the 10 guys on this show.
dynamite kido - April 20, 2007 04:32 AM (GMT)
Don't forget that you can watch this motherfucker FREE on Spike Saturday Night, which is a GREAT move on their part.
whitemilesdavis - April 20, 2007 11:55 AM (GMT)
Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic vs. Gabriel Gonzaga - R1 - KO
Lyoto Machida vs. David Heath - R3 - DEC
Michael Bisping vs. Elvis Sinosic - R2 - KO
Andrei Arlovski vs. Fabricio Werdum - R2 - Sub
Cheick Kongo vs. Assuerio Silva - R3 - Dec
Real F'n Show - April 22, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
Let's just say HOLY FUCKING SHIT and move on.
But seriously, I have no idea how Cro Cop didn't break his ankle or leg after he got knocked the fuck out.
And poor Elvis.
The rest of the show, especially the Arlovski versus Werdum fight, is a prime example of why I don't pay for these shows.

Mad Dog - April 22, 2007 05:30 PM (GMT)
I thought Cro Cop was dead at first. It was fucking brutal. That's probably the most brutal KO I've ever seen.
Big F'N Swigg - April 22, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
dynamite kido - April 22, 2007 08:34 PM (GMT)
That was DEFINATELY the most brutal KO I've ever seen.
Also, it's probably also the biggest upset I've ever seen in MMA.
whitemilesdavis - April 22, 2007 08:57 PM (GMT)
That may be the biggest upset in MMA history. Anybody who picked that one knew something noone else in the workl knew.
Real F'n Show - April 22, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
| QUOTE (Big F'N Swigg @ Apr 22 2007, 02:18 PM) |
| What were the results? |
Kongo def. Silva via DEC (Kongo has the worst takedown defense I've seen in awhile, Silva was taking him down whenever he wanted but couldn't hang in the striking department)
Machida def. Heath via DEC (they showed some fight between two no names who were 9-0 instead for some reason, probably because Machida/Heath sucked and the no name fight ended with a guillotine choke)
Bisping def. Sinosic via KO in Round 2 (sick mismatch with Elvis getting the shit beaten out of him. I really felt sorry for Elvis as he was just a blooding mess and of course the crowd was way against him)
Arlovski def. Werdum via DEC (this was boring as hell, I kept waiting for something to happen, either a Werdum takedown or Arlovski strike flurry, but neither did. Werdum disappointed big time and I'd be surprised if he were brought back)
Gonzaga def. Cro Cop via KO in Round 1 (you've probably seen the clip already, it's sick as hell. Like I said, I'm amazed Cro Cop could walk after his ankle was folded up backwards and underneath him. Gonzaga caught Cro Cop's first big kick attempt and took him down, where I thought it was over, but the ref stood them up, giving Cro Cop new life until WHAM Gonzaga high kick and it was over. Scary, scary knockout)
Mad Dog - April 24, 2007 10:24 PM (GMT)
So the only KO that comes to mind as brutal as this was the Rocky Marciano KO on Jersey Joe Walcott and this easily beats it for sheer brutality.
dynamite kido - April 24, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
Just to get a bit of convo going here, I wanted to throw this out there.
I'm a fan of Bisping, but if he was fighting anyone with more experience he would've been submitted. I will admit that he kicked the shit out of Elvis the first round, but in the second he almost got caught a few times in a sub, but fortunately for him Elvis was gassed out.
Mad Dog - April 24, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
I think he was just being cocky and overlooking this guy to be honest.
dynamite kido - April 24, 2007 11:01 PM (GMT)
Well if that's the case, I'm sure we can look forward to someone kicking his head into the 12th row ala Cro Cop.
Real F'n Show - April 24, 2007 11:22 PM (GMT)
Yeah, once he starts fighting some stiffer competition, he'll go down. As much as I love Elvis, he isn't what one would call "competition" for any major fighter at this point.
dynamite kido - April 24, 2007 11:23 PM (GMT)
Which has me thinking. How long is it going to be before they put Bisping in there with better comp?
By the way, thanks to this little pick thingy we do I find myself incredibly into MMA now.
Real F'n Show - April 24, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
Soon, probably. I understand the whole, "nearly guaranteed victory for the hometown crowd" fight, though.

That was the point, it's working for me too. I still won't shell out full price for the PPVs, but I've been trying to get some of my wrestling PPV buddies into it so maybe we can start ordering those and splitting the price as well.
Big F'N Swigg - April 24, 2007 11:34 PM (GMT)
Between this and talking to my uncles, I'm paying more attention than I ever would have
Real F'n Show - April 25, 2007 12:04 AM (GMT)
So, with Rogan mentioning Fedor on the show, how long will it be until he shows up in the Octagon?

I don't know if you have a Buffalo Wild Wings near you, but the one near me shows ALL of the UFC's.
Real F'n Show - April 25, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
Nah, I'm about an hour away from a Buffalo Wild Wings or a Hooters.
whitemilesdavis - May 24, 2007 01:03 PM (GMT)
Hey Show, you putting up the picks for UFC 71 soon?
