Title: OAO LOCKDOWN Thread
Big F'N Swigg - March 15, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)

It's six sides of overgimmicked steel!
SamoaRowe - March 15, 2007 09:10 PM (GMT)
Lockdown has a 2-0 record for being a good show, so I'm not about to start trashing the concept of it now.
Though I'm sure Russo will do everything in his power to make this year's event a disaster.

Can you put an entire Six Sides of Steel on a pole?

No, but maybe they can put the Ultimate X on top of it!
Big F'N Swigg - March 15, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
Apparently, they're doing an Electrified Cage Match for LAX vs. Team 3D
SamoaRowe - March 15, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm sure the fans are really going to buy into that nonsense.
dynamite kido - March 15, 2007 10:15 PM (GMT)
Although I totally agree with Rowe that the PPV has been good for the last 2 years, I'm seeing this one as being overbooked, overgimmicked, and having TONS of rematches.
I'm still pulling for it to be a good show though.

CRAP!
Sorry, it was an impulsive reaction.
dynamite kido - March 28, 2007 01:07 PM (GMT)
It's not really the greatest card overall, but Lockdown has been good since they started it IMO.
Here's my breakdown of the card.....

Pretty cool main event. Although there's always the clusterfuck possibility, I think it has a lot of potential to be a really good match. It's totally gonna depend on weather or not the match is booked right for it to work though.

NWA Tag Team champions LAX vs. Team 3D - Electrified Cage
Honestly, I wish this fucking feud would just die already. Going into the feud LAX was one of my favorite things going in the sport in general. Now, they are still good but because of this shitty feud they've lost a bit in my eyes. 3D on the other hand could be fucking fired for all I care. The only thing that would excite me about this match would be if Bubba Ray was fucking electrocuted for real.
QUOTE
TNA X-Division champion Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal vs. Alex Shelley vs. Shark Boy.
The match could be good, but at this point it's a fucking throw in. Is it too much to ask that Sabin be consistantly built into feuds with ONE guy. I mean, he IS the fucking champion.
QUOTE
Jerry Lynn vs. Christopher Daniels.
I like Daniels new gimmick and Lynn has been good since his return. There's no reason why this match shouldn't be at least ***.
QUOTE
Austin Starr vs. Senshi with Bob Backlund as the special referee.
I'd say that I was looking forward to this if they built it up or were doing it for another reason other than eventually doing Starr/Backlund.
QUOTE
Robert Roode vs. Eric Young.
ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
QUOTE
Chris Harris vs. James Storm - Blindfold Match.
Fuck this match. Fuck Harris and Storm.
QUOTE
Gail Kim vs. Jackie Moore.
FUCK WOMEN'S WRESTLING. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS BULLSHIT THAT NOBODY CARES ABOUT.
Scrooge McSuck - March 28, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
Sounds like a bad show, to me.
Daniels/Lynn will be good, Starr/Low-Ki has a chance... but everything else has the clusterfuck or just flat out crap label over it.
Plus it's all cage matches... under RUSSO'S book.
Big F'N Swigg - April 16, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
Is anyone actually watching?
smkelly13 - April 16, 2007 03:47 AM (GMT)
Keller pegged Harris / Storm at -****
The main event sounded horrible.
SamoaRowe - April 16, 2007 11:56 AM (GMT)
The review posted at 411 says the main event was **** and the rest of the show scored in the **-*** range, though the blind fold match was not surprisingly a DUD (or ASS like they said).
Scrooge McSuck - April 16, 2007 12:33 PM (GMT)
Remember, the 411 guy is incredibly bias. He even said so in the staff forum.
dynamite kido - April 16, 2007 01:05 PM (GMT)
Here's a quick rundown of the card.....
-The opener was the X-division escape match. Pretty solid, nothing crazy. I would peg it at about ***.
Second match was the women's match. They tried to do the "grudge match" brawling stuff and gail actually did a cross body off the top of the cage. *
Roode/Petey up next. Decent work from both sides, but leave it to Hebner to pull a Hockey stick away from Petey (even though it IS legal) and Roode won with the Perfect Plex. *1/2
Low-Ki/Aries was decent enough, although too gimmicky with Backlund as the ref. Low-Ki wins and it looks as if they are definately setting up Aries/Backlund. **
Then came the blindfold match. UGH. Dear TNA, this isn't Wrestlemania VII and neither of these guys are Jake or Martel. DUD
Daniels/Lynn would be next up and the match was just alright. They did some good stuff but I never thought they got to the level that the match should have been at. **
Next would be 3D vs. LAX in the Electrofied Cage. One thing that made me happy was the fact that 3D actually had the WCW/WWF/ECW tag titles with them during their promo that they cut before the match. Too bad it was all downhill from there. This match was a fucking abomination, from Bubba just doggin it in the match, to the fucking cage gimmick being about as stupid as fucking possible. Oh, and 3D won the tag titles. Fuck off. *
Now it was time for Lethal Lockdown. Basically they were playing up all night weather or not Jarrett would turn on them or not. This one was a pretty good match overall with guys pulling out a LOT of stops. For Christ's sake at one point Steiner hit the top rope frankensteiner. Very solid match and it might have been the best match of the night. Oh, and AJ fell of the top of the cage onto a bunch of people. ***1/4
