Title: Who the fuck is in control of TV Land?
Scrooge McSuck - March 11, 2007 03:17 AM (GMT)
Since I'm probably the only person here who watches the network, here's the deal...
For whatever fucking reason, TV Land has become obsessed with changing their program schedule. EVERY WEEK.
One week Gunsmoke is on at 4pm. The next it's Miami Vice. Then it's Gunsmoke again. Then Beaver. Now it's the Addams Family.
Or the random inclussion of "TV Land Original Series'" that no one watches in the first place. One day they're on at 1 pm, then the next 1:30, and 1:30 again... there's no pattern to it.

I gave up on TV Land once they started adding early 90's shows.
It seems like a foolproof network to program for, though. Just base your nights on Decades of TV

They're just trying to show more shows than they have slots. The decades night is a good idea though.

But most networks have an actual schedule program, except Sports networks. TV Land will sometimes air the same three shows all day for weeks. At one point, all you could watch was Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith, and Beaver from 2-10 pm. Then STAR TREK.
All in the Family is once again completely removed from the schedule.

I think the issue is they buy the rights to all of these shows and then have to justify what they're spending by putting them on tv. Like take Star Trek. Someone justify to me why the needed that show at all. They didn't need it and it really doesn't fit in with the rest of the shows they have anyways other than it being an old show.

Don't forget they stopped doing 48-Hour weekend marathons for... all day long viewings of Bonanza and Gunsmoke. Jesus, those shows weren't THAT Good to justify it blocking everything out.
The show(s) that have been dicked over the most recently have been the Addams Family and Sanford & Son. The Addams' barely find TV time now, which is why I'm making sure to tape as many to DVD as possible, and Sanford is almost never on, except late at night.

TV Land is owned by Viacom, which owns the rights to Star Trek. So it's basically free programming

And they can't even schedule that right. It's on at 11.. no wait, 11:30. No, wait again. Now not at all. Wait, it's 11 again.
Seriously, someone with ADD must be in control of programming.
Mad Dog - March 12, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
They should put it on at 6 in the evening every evening. Get those Trekkies that are just coming off of 4 hours of Trek and might be looking for more.

They can't. 6-8 is reserved for the Andy Griffith show. The hillbillies come in from the yard around that time, eating alongside the pigs.

Man, I'm gonna kill you one day.

I know, that's a totally inaccurate description based on a stereotype..
