Title: Remembering Zeus
eStragand - February 27, 2007 04:58 PM (GMT)
No, he's not dead.
But as we close out Black History Month, it's a chance to look back and reflect on the Black History of Zeus' in-ring career.
Remember that time he came to the ring, yelled and punched Hulk Hogan in the back of the neck?
Or...remember that time he came to the ring, yelled and punched Hulk Hogan in the back of the neck again?
Or...remember that time he came to the ring, yelled and punched SMASH in the back of the neck?
We salute you, Mr. Million Dollar Insurance Policy/Human Wrecking Machine.

Hogan said he was a natural worker, and they had magic together. Seriously, he said that.

I'm surprised Hogan didn't say that Zeus was 40 feet tall and he pinned him at a show that drew 785,000.

Hee hee..you big silly! Everyone knows that was Verne Gagne.

He did make some rediculous statements about his size, though I can't remember specifics, and also about how well their program drew. The last part may actually be true. I vaguely remember the program, much less how much business it generated.

Zeus... a natural athlete? Bear-hugging and weak-ass punching isn't athletic. It's worse than what a near crippled Andre the Giant could do.

This is true. He also claimed that Dennis Rodman, Carl Malone, and Jay Leno were good workers, too. No lie. I actually read Hogan's biography. If you ever want to read a biography where a man credits himself for the most ridiculous things, even things you wouldn't want credit for, such as writing No Holds Barred and crediting yourself for the ending and claiming how fantastic of an idea it was, read Hogan's book.

I've read it.
I think it's worth reading just to pick out all of the bullshit.

That's because he was 400 feet tall and it was in front of 785,000,000 people.
