Already looking better than last month's card...
whitemilesdavis - February 26, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
Wow. I have interest in all those matches.
TehDoct0r - February 26, 2007 03:12 AM (GMT)
All could be good to amazing if done correctly. But that's a big if.
I'm REALLY interested to see what Angle and Steiner pull out because I dug Steiner's run from last year a whole lot.
SamoaRowe - February 26, 2007 03:31 PM (GMT)
That is a good looking card, though I'm not crazy about the concept of the "Elevation X." I hope they can prove me wrong.
TehDoct0r - February 26, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm pretty sure it will feature AJ dying for our entertainment. Although I probably won't buy it and need to download it later.
dynamite kido - February 26, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
I'm still not even buying that they'll blow off AJ/Rhino. I could see them fighting AGAIN next month a Lockdown.
Big F'N Swigg - February 26, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
I'd buy it, but the last PPV was such shit that I'm not even risking my cash right now
SamoaRowe - February 26, 2007 06:59 PM (GMT)
On paper, this show looks like a worthy DVD purchase, depending on the reviews.
I am pretty excited about Joe/Christian, if only that Joe might actually become the NWA Champion.
Scrooge McSuck - February 26, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
Meh... wait for the DVD if it's that good. TNA really needs more TV time to build up these PPV's.
Real F'n Show - February 26, 2007 07:07 PM (GMT)
My understanding is that Elevation X is basically an X-shaped Scaffold match? Is it old school style with nothing to break your fall but the ring, or are they gonna stack tables everywhere?

They didn't mention that, which mean Russo booked it.
UGH.
Scrooge McSuck - February 26, 2007 07:08 PM (GMT)
Probably the latter, without it being an official part of the gimmick.
Scaffold matches have forever sucked ass though, so this isn't TNA bias. It's a danger to the workers and the whole concept is just trying not to kill yourself.

That's basically it. So far there has been no mention of tables or other fun stuff in the ring.
I really hate scaffold matches. They tend to suck and are needlessly dangerous. I don't see how shaping the scaffold in a giant X will improve things.
Real F'n Show - February 26, 2007 07:09 PM (GMT)
Last Rites sounds very Russorific too. Again, no idea how that one is gonna work.
Scrooge McSuck - February 26, 2007 07:09 PM (GMT)
Is that like a Last Ride Match?
Or is it some bible thumper kind of gimmick?

Neither does he.
Also I totally agree with Elevation X. Scaffold matches are fucking terrible.
Scrooge McSuck - February 26, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
Russo will probably decide what the match is 20 minutes before the show begins.
I'm being serious, too.
Real F'n Show - February 26, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
Well Sting's (fucking creepy) promo had him lying on some metal bed or something. He also said "gnashing of teeth" like 80 times.
Scrooge McSuck - February 26, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
Oh, so it's a Prison Bitch Match?
I'd download it on YouTube anyway.
SamoaRowe - February 26, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
How much money do you think goes into creating these odd structures for Russo's bizarre gimmick matches?
Real F'n Show - February 26, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
Too much, especially for a company like TNA.
Scrooge McSuck - February 26, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
Probably a good $10-20,000 for the basic shit, like the Ejaculation X match.

Scrooge's Dreamy Flashbacks on a Pole Match. Get it right.
Scrooge McSuck - February 26, 2007 07:16 PM (GMT)
Fine, a Scrooge's Dreamy Flashbacks on a Pole Match.
Real F'n Show - February 26, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Can someone catch me up on the feud history between AJ and Rhino?
Tempest - February 26, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
You'd think someone like Jim Cornette would have something to do with not letting people kill themselves in a scaffold match, don't you?

I honestly don't remember how it began, I woke up one day and they were feuding.

That's about how it happened for me. I stopped reading up on results for like two weeks and when I started following it again, he and Daniels had broken up, he was a heel, and Rhino really hated him for some reason.

Rhino was trying to stop AJ/Daniels from feuding. During Rhino's feud with Xian they played up how they were former friends. Rhino was trying to be the peacekeeper for AJ/Daniels so that they didn't have the same thing happen. AJ basically got pissed at Rhino for being in his business, yadda yadda wash repeat.

I sort of remember that happening now, or at least the seeds for it. Rhino was butting into their business for whatever reason, though it was transparent to all watching that this was soley for him to feud with one of them.
Kind of like in 2003 when Kurt Angle was interjecting himself into the Eddie vs. Chavo feud out of the blue.
dynamite kido - February 27, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
On the money Rowe, that's basically the same thing.

Without explicitly saying it...
If you had the hookup, I'd holla. If you hear me.
dynamite kido - February 28, 2007 09:10 PM (GMT)
Well you can call me the Big Bad Booty Daddy, if you know what I mean.
whitemilesdavis - February 28, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
In that case, how many freaks will I need on my peaks? If you know what I'm sayin.

I want a hook-up... holla holla'?

Scrooge McSuck - March 1, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
Actually, yes. The card looks... interesting, to say the least. Besides, how much could you be charging? Anything is a deal compared to the PPV price.
