Title: THE OAO Creative Meeting Thread Room
Description: What, Who, Why? How?

MODS - I think if this is a popular thread, it's a candidate for pinning.

One of the things I've noticed since restarting my love affair with EWR, is how much I THINK about it, when I'm not playing it. I constantly have idea for shows, gimmicks and cards. About ten minutes ago in the shower, despite not having booked Wrestlemania yet, I sketched out ideas in my head for the first post Mania Smackdown PPV, and came away with a good few matches.

Saying that, often when I'm playing, I notice things, or want to apply some things, and I run into questions, and, often times I run into brick walls. Only yesterday, Ernie and I banged ideas back and forth regarding a tag team on my show, and came up blank. So, I thought people could use this thread to ask questions of wrestling fans, that apply to the game, or to throw out ideas, and ask for feedback and advice.

To start, I'll give an example of the three "types" of questions" I've had while playing.

1. Why does Paul London have heat with Samoa Joe?

2. What is Melina's real name? I've seen Melina Perez, Melena Perez and .....Kyra on the internet

Gimmick/Booking Question What is the American perception of a lounge singer? If I was to give a worker a gimmick of a lounge singer, who would I base it on?

Big F'N Swigg - February 8, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
If you're going to do a lounge singer, you should base it off of Andy Kaufman's alter ego, Tony Clifton. Watch Man on the Moon to see Jim Carrey's version.

Or you could always make him a mixture of Tom Jones and William Shatner. That would be GOLD

Given that Jones has been accused of date rape in the past, the gimmick could be gold depending on who I give it too.

As far as Andy Clifton is concerned, my original basis of the character is/was Bill Murray's Nick The Lounge Singer from SNL, so I'm definitely heading in that era.

Just to push things along - the original idea was to give EZ Money/Jason Jett the gimmick, and give Julio Dinero an Enrique Igleases gimmick, but I've turned around and given the Enrique name to someone else, so I'm spinning my wheels

Julio's a good name for that. I mean, isn't Enrique's dad's name Julio?

D.A.V.E. - February 8, 2007 10:29 PM (GMT)
Yes, yes he is.

Here's a good one. Name someone who's a physical match for Dustin Rhodes. As in, if someone else was in the Goldust outfit
