Anyone else looking forward to The Undertaker's guest appearance on Raw tonight?

Maybe it's just how silly he's been booked the past three years, but I'm really missing biker Taker. It seemed like the natural evolution of his character with the times, and while the dead man nostalgia act was fun for a month or two in 2004, it feels old, stale, and silly as hell now.

SamoaRowe - February 6, 2007 02:16 AM (GMT)
And it's official: The Undertaker vs. Batista for the WHC at Wrestlemania 23!

Later tonight: HBK vs. Orton vs. Edge for a shot the shot against Cena.

Real F'n Show - February 6, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
Everything falling into place now. Edge can cost Orton the win and get pinned by HBK to set up Edge/Orton as well.

SamoaRowe - February 6, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I expect that will be the case.

Either that, or the match goes to a draw and Cena faces all three of them. I'm content with either scenario.

I'm always looking forwards to appearances by The Undertaker. And yes, you can call me an Undertaker mark if you want to.

SamoaRowe - February 6, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)
There's no shame in being an Undertaker mark, except for the people who really think he's a dead man :P

I really hate that they brought Balls Mahoney over to Raw tonight just to let Umaga kill him.

S.T. Strickler - February 6, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
It was gonna be either Umaga or Khali beating on Balls.

SamoaRowe - February 6, 2007 03:21 AM (GMT)
Yeah, the second I saw Mahoney I figured someone was about to squash him.

I liked the Flair/Hardy match. And Melina/Mickie. Aside from the Mahoney squash, good Raw so far.

whitemilesdavis - February 6, 2007 12:53 PM (GMT)
RAW was very good, and Mahoney should be nothing more than a jobber anyway, so I was good with that. When you put all three brands together, you realize the potential for fresh matchups, and there really is a lot of talent there. Funny that the women's match was probably the best of the show.

Tempest - February 6, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
I actually found Balls doing his punches, Umaga no-selling and then Ball's audibly shouting "screw this!" before trying for a low-kick kind of funny.

I don't know why....

dynamite kido - February 6, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
Very weird that RAW seemed a lot better last night than it's been. So basically that's two weeks in a row that I found RAW to be better than usual. Sign of things to come? I doubt it, but I guess time will be the judge of that.

jamiegeist - February 6, 2007 10:47 PM (GMT)
WWE in general in 2007 has been rediculously good.

I found Kenny/Lashley to be really fun, and that really may have been Kenny's coming out party. He was bumping like a Hennig on coke.

dynamite kido - February 6, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
The sad thing is Kenny is the kinda guy that Lashley needs to be working on a consistant basis with......and of course ECW has NO ONE like that.

whitemilesdavis - February 7, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)
You know, I didn't think the two looked to good together. It certainly wasn't terrible, and was neat to have a fresh matchup on RAW, but I'm not sure that's how I would have introduced Lashley to majority of WWE fans. If Kenny had already been established, it would've made more since. As is, I wanted to see Bobby manhandle the skinny geek. Instead Lashley is on the receiving end more often than not, and the offense he gets in doesn't look particularly strong. Kenny came off looking better, and I wouldn't want that for one of my World Champions. I would've liked to have seen Lashley against a more experienced worker who could've made him look stronger. Nopthing against either guy, as they both did OK. It just didn't come off as the big time match up that I would like on RAW.

Is it just me, or do Haas and Benjamin come off as complete stars? Neither is great on his own, but something about them in a tag-team is just incredible. It's a joke that a non-team has the belts with such a strong tag-division right now.

I liked Flair's speech to Carlito. Hopefully, we can get a slight character change and Carlito will show a little fire.

I'm saying that is just you. They've honestly started to get better, but overall they physically LOOK like they are lost out there.

I dug the Flair/Carlito thing too. Hopefully, they do something with it.

whitemilesdavis - February 8, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
Lost? No way. Shelton went through his horrible run, but together I thiunk they've been great. Charlie Haas is turning into one of my favorite guys to wacth, even though he gets no time.

Honestly, I think only time will tell with both of them. They've both been too inconsistant over time to have me give either of them the benefit of the doubt.

If they were smart they'd have the Haas/Holly team still going on a brand. I would rather see that at this point over WGTT.

SamoaRowe - February 15, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
Holly/Haas were a good team and all, but I am much happier to see Haas working with Benjamin again. The WGTT was one of my favorite aspects of Smackdown in 2003.

Same here, but I seriously think that the WGTT now compared to 2003 is like comparing them to a completely different team altogether.

Real F'n Show - February 15, 2007 10:49 PM (GMT)
Well...they were working with guys like Benoit, Edge, and Lesnar as opposed to the Highlanders and Cryme Tyme...

So what happened to Shelton? I've seen him fight plenty of good people of the last year and a half and he's gotten a lot worse. Same thing with Haas. It had nothing to do with the people that they were wrestling then to now. It has to do with both of them declining horribly.

whitemilesdavis - February 16, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)
I don't agree at all about Haas. He hasn't been given a chance to shine, but the little he's done has been great. Shelton is another story. He had a BIG slump there for a while where he was just terrible out there. I already thought he was getting better before they teamed back up, and seems to have stabilized more since the teaming. I think they have the potential to be the best team in the WWE, and could actually make the tag division fun if they were on top.

Real F'n Show - February 16, 2007 02:05 AM (GMT)
I never thought Haas was all that great to begin with. Maybe Shelton's confidence declined after going from beating Triple H to having has mama at ringside for matches...

whitemilesdavis - February 16, 2007 01:11 PM (GMT)
It was actually shortly befor Mama that he started his slide, if I am rememberring correctly.

Mad Dog - February 16, 2007 01:35 PM (GMT)
The Haas and Holly tag team was awesome. They were really starting to gel and could've had a great long term feud with MNM. I agree with whoever said they'd rather see that team than WGTT.

whitemilesdavis - February 16, 2007 01:50 PM (GMT)
OK, anything with Haas is fine with me.

dynamite kido - February 19, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
For tonight's RAW:

QUOTE
With WrestleMania 23 looming, it’s time to get a championship contract in place—specifically, inside a briefcase latched over the ring within Detroit’s Ford Field. The first round of “Money in the Bank” Qualifying Matches begins in Bakersfield tonight, with Edge squaring off against ECW’s Rob Van Dam. Since the Rated-R Superstar and the ECW Original were the respective “Bank” winners of the past two WrestleManias, this encounter ensures that one will not earn a bid into the match at the granddaddy of them all. Who will be the first to cash out?

SamoaRowe - February 19, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
I'm guessing Orton does something that leads Edge to losing to RVD?

Real F'n Show - February 19, 2007 09:39 PM (GMT)
This is gonna get old quick if they keep doing these year after year. I was hoping they'd mix it up a bit for this year's show and do a Tag Team Money in the Bank or anything other than this.

I was thinking that the tag MITB would have been cool too.

SamoaRowe - February 20, 2007 02:13 AM (GMT)
McMahon's rep for Wrestlemania is.... UMAGA!~

S.T. Strickler - February 20, 2007 03:49 AM (GMT)
Well, I guess Khali's english isn't that bad afterall.

Real F'n Show - February 20, 2007 04:27 AM (GMT)
That was actually a pretty decent Raw. Orton/Cena and especially RVD/Edge were both pretty good. Edge turning rolling thunder into a powerslam was boss.

dynamite kido - February 20, 2007 07:38 AM (GMT)
I actually dug RAW myself.

Khali getting the Andre treatment = AWESOME

Umaga the IC champion = hell motherfuckin yeah

Mr. P in the HOF = GREAT choice

Edge/RVD actually a really good match

RAW seems to be on a pretty good streak.

whitemilesdavis - February 20, 2007 12:59 PM (GMT)
I loved RAW last night. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the main event, but even that wasn't bad. I think the best match may have been the women's match.

dynamite kido - February 20, 2007 04:45 PM (GMT)
Really? I thought that RVD/Edge was easily the best match of the night.

As spotty as RVD is, he seems to work well with Edge.

SamoaRowe - February 20, 2007 04:48 PM (GMT)
Maybe i was in a bad mood, but I found most of RVD/Edge to be really tedious last night.

dynamite kido - February 20, 2007 04:50 PM (GMT)
I found the match to be pretty hard hitting which I thought was nice for once.

whitemilesdavis - February 20, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
I'll give RVD / Edge props. I thought it was RVD's best work in years, and I think Edge has become pretty solid. It's just amazing to me, with what women's wrestling has become, to see two women put on such a solid match.
