Title: Return of the Tag Team Game
Description: aka. "42 Degrees of Glen Jacobs!"
eStragand - January 4, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Me n' Scrooge did this about two years ago and it's kinda' fun. Thought I'd resurrect the game and bring it over HERE, where it should have a bigger audience. Here's how it works: I say the name of Wrestler A, you tell us the name of Wrestler B who regularly tagged with him. The next person will tell us the name of Wrestler C, who tagged with Wrestler B. Get it?
Note that A is NOT equal to C. Tell us someone different he regularly tagged with.
Example:
First post would be : Bret Hart
Second post would be: Jim Neidhart
Third post would be: Owen Hart
Fourth would be: Jeff Jarrett
etc, etc.... the idea is to keep the game rolling and see how many different guys we can include. So try not paint anyone into a corner with your answer. (in other words, you might wanna' steer clear of guys like Hawk or Pit Bull #2).
Couple guidelines to make it manageable:
1.) The two wrestlers MUST have tagged regularly. House show couplings don't count. For instance: Hulk Hogan and Ken Patera tagged up on house shows, but they weren't a regular team. However, Ken Patera and Billy Jack Haynes or Ken Patera and Jerry Blackwell were regular teams.
2.) To be a "regular" team, the two guys must have had either a fancy team name (Kronik, Vicious & Delicious, American Males, etc) or been tag team champs (so teams like Bret Hart & Goldberg or Rock & Undertaker unfortunately qualify). Yes, you can check tag champs for some of the 8,000 old school NWA promotions.
3.) Keep in mind that stable mates doesn't necessarily mean tag team partners. Mongo and Ric Flair were stable mates, but didn't tag together often.
4.) Wrestlers playing different characters count. Bryan Clarke is Adam Bomb is Wrath. With that example, you could go with: Smash> Crush> Bryan Clarke > Mortis > Diamond Dallas Page >Kevin Nash
5.) Try to keep it in the modern (post-1980) era. Sometimes we may have to go back for a oldster. Example: we had to go back to the 70's to find some more partners for Ivan Koloff.
6.) If at all possible, try not to repeat answers.
7.) Indys, ROH, Japan and Mexico don't count. Try to keep it, primarily, based around the "big leagues". If we get into a huge corner, then maybe...
8.) Obviously, if this sucks or is a major flop, I'll kill the thread.
So, with that established, we'll start with the first entrant:
Through Hellfire and Brimstone, BY GAWD, it's....
KAAAAANE

I'll avoid a obvious ECW answer that might paint into a corner and say...
Booker T (tag champs in 2004)

Goldust/Dustin Runnels/Dustin Rhodes (tag champs in 2002-2003)

Barry Windham. I'm pretty sure they teamed up frequently in 1992 WCW.

Mike Rotundo (they teamed together in the 80's)

Ricky Steamboat (they had a stint together in the early 90's of WCW, right?)

Jay Youngblood, but I cheated.

Cheating's absolutely allowed.
Mark Youngblood (not a dead end... he had a VERY famous partner at one point)

I know this is indy (FIP), but
Sal Rinauro
Pick-out one of Rinauro's partners, and we're back in ECW.

I was tempted to be all smarky and say "Tommy Rogers", but that'd screw things up. So, instead:
1-2-3 Kid/X-Pac/Lightning Kid/Syxx/Sean Waltman

He teamed with Shark Boy semi-consistently in TNA's early days. Otherwise, I have nothing.

Thanks for painting us in a corner. :D
