I know ES and I had this in the weekly thread a while ago but I'll kick off with it. I hate how in DC everyone is buddy buddy and knows everyone's IDs because they have to all be bestest friends since they're superheroes.
I hate the way the X-Men mansion just keeps getting magically rebuilt.
I always thought it was the Shi'ar tech helping them rebuilding so quickly.
Continuity suffers emmensely nowadays. I look at the new Black Panther series as the worst example I've run across (Black Knight, T'Challa, Radioactive Man and Klaw all re-tooled for no improved reason).
I could buy the X-Mansion/Shi'ar stuff...but there have been a few inconsistencies. In the late 80's, the X-men (Storm, Colossus, Wolvie and Rogue) all left the Mansion for a few years. It was levelled to the ground by Mr. Sinister and nobody lived there until the big 1991 re-launch.
So in the mid-90's, there's a scene where Storm goes into her room and talks about how she's had these same plants forever. They've always made her feel at home, they've always been there for her ever since she came to America. This room is so wonderful and it houses all of her stuff from her childhood, etc. Makes it tough to swallow that the Shi'are stuff recreated all of that.
To pile on to DC, I absolutely HATE their term "The Mantle of _______". They started using it with the stupid "Mantle of the Bat" during the Azrael/Batman days. Then they starting talking about the "The Mantle of the Green Lantern" and, worse, "The Mantle of the Green Arrow". Always capitalized. (It might even have been "The Mantle of the Arrow"--which sounds like a Boy Scout organization). It's died down in recent years, but that term always makes me wretch.
Also HATE the term "re-define" which they use so liberally. "This will RE-DEFINE Booster Gold and his place in the DCU...."

Yeah, that's a popular DC thing right now. It's always bugged me.
