The History of the Mexican National Title:

L.A. Par-K vs. Juventud Guerrera
No.1 Contenders Match

Intro: This match was set up to determine who would face whoever was crowned champion later in the evening.

Juventud dominates the match after a cheapshot before the bell. He goes for the 450 but Par-K dodges. Latin Lover comes to ringside and distracts Juvy until Par-K rolls him up for the win. ****1/2 91/83/99

Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. El Hijo Del Santo
Mexican National Title Match

Intro: Both men had fought through a brutal field of 32 wrestlers to get to this very point. El Hijo Del Santo in particular had to go through both Juventud Guerrera and L.A. Par-K to get to this point. The winner will be the first ever Mexican National Champion.

They exchange a lot of high flying moves and matwork. Wagner goes for the Black Tiger Bomb but Santo escapes and gets a school boy roll up for the win. **** 83/77/89

Mexican National Title Match:
El Hijo Del Santo © vs. L.A. Par-K

Intro: It's the very first defense for El Hijo Del Santo. These two met during the original tournament for the belt with Santo coming out on top in a great match. Can they outdo themselves here?

First Fall: Lockup and Par-K gets a hammerlock. Santo escapes with a headlock takedown and continues to work the hold. Par-K gets to his knees and escapes with some elbows to the guts. Lockup and Par-K gets a headlock and spins for a drop toe hold. Par-K comes off the ropes and hits a shoulderblock and goes for a front face lock. Santo escapes with a hammerlock. Santo drops an elbow. Lockup and Par-K slaps Santo in the face. Santo slaps him back and they go at it exchanging punches. Santo ends the brawling with a double leg takedown. Par-k gets a hold of an arm bar and gets the submission on Santo.

Second Fall: Par-K attacks the injured arm. He stomps it on the ground and applies the armbar again but Santo gets into the ropes. Par-K hits an armbreaker on the arm and goes back to the armbar but Santo rolls him up for two. Santo hits a dropkick and then levels Par-K with a clothesline. Santo gets a fireman's carry takedown and then hits a running senton splash for the pin.

Third Fall: Lockup and Santo gets a headlock. Par-K throws him into the ropes but gets hit with a shoulderblock. Lockup and Par-K gets a hammerlock. Santo escapes with an elbow to the face. Par-K charges but Santo catches him with a drop toe hold. Santo applies an indian deathlock and gets the submission to retain the title. ****1/2 87/76/98

WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION: El Hijo Del Santo

4 Corners Elimination Match:
L.A. Par-K vs. Cibernetico vs. Juventud Guerrera vs. Perro Aguayo Jr.

Intro: All 4 men had to win a match to get into this. The order of your elimination determines where you'll be at in the title shot food chain.

A huge brawl erupts to start. Aguayo and Guerrera fall to the outside. Par-K levels Cibernetico with a couple of clotheslines. Par-K hits a dropkick and then hits a running senton splash for two. Par-K goes for the ropes but falls to the outside when Juvy pulls them down. Juvy hits a flying shoulder block on Aguayo and hits the 450 splash for the pin.

Perro Aguayo Jr. is eliminated and becomes the No. 4 Contender

Cibernetico and Juvy double team Par-K to start. They hit a double suplex and follow it up with a double DDT. Juvy holds Par-K and Cibernetico goes for a super kick but Par-K ducks. Par-K throws Cibernetico to the outside and quickly rolls Juvy up for the pin.

Juventud Guerrera is eliminated and becomes the No. 3 Contender

Cibernetico and Par-K lock up and Par-K gets a hammerlock. Par-K levels Cibernetico with a chop and then pulls him up for a short arm clothesline. Par-K goes for the Sky Twist Press but Cibernetico moves. Cibernetico hits a spinning heel kick and then hits a northern lights suplex for the pin. *** 77/75/80

WINNER AND NO. 1 CONTENDER: Cibernetico

Intro: Cibernetico stunned the lucha libre world by becoming the No. 1 Contender. No one thought he had the ability to earn a title shot. At the night of this match Psicsosis was in attendance and was brutally attacked by Cibernetico and his partner Abismo Negro. Would Cibernetico finally get to the top or would his actions come back to haunt him?

Mexican National Title Match:
El Hijo Del Santo © d. Cibernetico (2nd defense)
Cibernetico took the first fall on a cross face for the submission. Santo battled back in the second fall and got the pinfall after a cross body block from the top rope. Cibernetico looked to be on his way to victory. The ref got KOd after a missed dropkick from Santo. Abismo Negro hit the ring and hit a frog splash on the fallen Santo. Cibernetico was trying to revive the ref but a pissed off Psicosis hit the ring. He nailed Abismo Negro with a spinning heel kick and then nailed Cibernetico with a jumping DDT. Psicosis went to the top rope and nailed a guillotine leg drop. Psicosis rolled Santo on top and then hit a suicide plancha onto Abismo Negro. The ref manages to count the 1-2-3. ****1/4 84/72/97

NWA: Mexico can deliver at least a **** match per show almost effortlessly. Keep it up dude.
