Title: NWA Clash of the Champions
Description: October 15, from Mexico City

jamiegeist - June 29, 2006 07:10 PM (GMT)
It is a long ways away still, but here is a thread for the next NWA Joint PPV, Clash of the Champions. Clash will be coming from Mexico City, Mexico, in an attempt to spread a little love to our comrades from South of the border.

SamoaRowe - July 2, 2006 09:40 PM (GMT)
I'll have to make sure that JBL is at his offensive best heading into this event.

Mad Dog - July 22, 2006 04:01 AM (GMT)
So since this is in Mexico can I put up a Mexican National Title Match for this show?

prof_plague - July 22, 2006 05:27 AM (GMT)
Only if Rey-Rey wins.

jamiegeist - July 22, 2006 08:09 AM (GMT)
Oh most certainly.

It's a few weeks away.....

P.S.- I know Perro Aguayo Jr. is the Mexican National Champ, but I can't find a picture, so we'll just say this poster was prepared in advance

prof_plague - September 26, 2006 03:40 AM (GMT)
Great poster Swigg.

Mad Dog - September 26, 2006 05:08 AM (GMT)
That poster is awesome man.

Real F'n Show - September 26, 2006 11:53 AM (GMT)
That is a way cool poster man.

SamoaRowe - September 29, 2006 09:08 PM (GMT)
That poster brought a tear of happiness to my eye.

In all seriousness, it kicks ass.

SamoaRowe - September 29, 2006 09:10 PM (GMT)
So right now, we're looking at:

Psychosis vs. Mexican National Champ (Mexico vs. CSW)

James Gibson vs. someone from Midwest (NEW vs. Midwest)

A four way tag featuring a team from each territory. (all territories)

20 Man Invitational Battle Royal (all territories, hosted by Mexico)

Big F'N Swigg - September 30, 2006 11:04 PM (GMT)
Shouldn't the NWA Title be on the line??

Mad Dog - September 30, 2006 11:54 PM (GMT)
We've still got 3 slots. 4 if we count the pre show.

We've still got 3 slots. 4 if we count the pre show.

I think we should include the preshow.

Actually, what if we all just run our matches through our own games in spare segments rather than having one person run the entire show. Would that work?

Mad Dog - October 1, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
I think a single game would be easier.

SamoaRowe - October 12, 2006 12:12 AM (GMT)
Okay, so this is only a few days away. What's the status?

Mad Dog - October 12, 2006 12:17 AM (GMT)
Let's push it back until the 22nd so we can discuss things and do some polls for who should win the title match.

That might potentially screw up booking plans going into my Resistance pay-per-view on 10/27, but I'm willing to improvise.

"You losers over in the Mid-Atlantic want a fight? Well, you sure as hell have found one! This is going to be a win-win situation for me. Mid-Atlantic Newsfeed:

As announced by Commissioner Bobby "The Brain" Heenan on NWA:Mid-Atlantic's Saturday Night Flood, Christian Cage is not cleared to wrestle due to his broken finger.  Heenan would go onto say that, "An injury is an injury no matter what, and no injured wrestlers wrestle.  Therefore, Christian Cage will not be appearing in the Four-Way title match for the Mid-Atlantic title against "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, John Cena, and Kane.  Instead, "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton will take Christian Cage's spot in the match.

Also, The Outsiders will be representing The Mid-Atlantic in the champions tag team match, and not The Daniels Brothers (AJ Styles-Daniels and Christopher Daniels).

NWA: Clash of the Champions
October 29th 2006

Dark match: NWA: Hawaii Champion Lance Cade defeated Austin Aries.

The pyro explodes, the music plays, and the National Wrestling Alliance is in full force for the Clash of the Champions! Our hosts for the evening are legendary announcer Joey Styles and NWA: Mexico President Mad Dog! They welcome us to the festivities, promising an exciting show from the four major territories of the NWA!

Ten Man Scramble match:
Les Bohèmiens (Chavo Guerrero, Shane Helms, Chris Masters, Mikey Whipwreck, and Precious Lucy) vs. Pushing the Limits (Carlito, Frankie Kazarian, Matt Sydal, Adam Pearce, and Kevin Steen)

In a fast-paced high-flying match, PTL seemed to dominate most of the match. By her usual antics, Melina Perez flirted and tempted the PTL wrestlers distracting them in the match when Les Bohèmiens were in need of a fresh man, taking advantage of the “no tag needed” rules. Eventually PTL became ran-down, and Les Bohèmiens continued to take advantage in the match. Chavo Guerrero pinned Kevin Steen after hitting the Gory Bomb at 14:05. After the match, Les Bohèmiens celebrated by reading monologues, reciting poetry, a plastic pickle tub drum solo by Masters, and through interpretative dance. PTL, although worn-out, still had enough in them to attack Les Bohèmiens and clear the ring out of the ring. Masters was left alone in the ring, so Carlito put the pickle tub on his head and hit him with a steel chair, receiving a pop from the audience.
Winners: Les Bohemians @ 14:05 (69/68/70)

Interpromotional Four-way Tag Team match:
The British Invasion vs. La Parkas vs. Dudley Boyz vs. The Outsiders
In a fast paced match, with frequent tags, most of the action takes place between the La Parkas and the British Invasion. Nigel McGuinness and L.A. Par-K go through a dazzling exchange of holds before Nigel finally gains control. The Dudleyz get involved in breaking up many near fall attempts by Nigel on the La Parkas, as the Outsiders watch from the apron, acting cool the entire time. The Dudleyz end up hitting the 3D on both La Parka II and Paul Birchill later in the match, but get laid out seconds later by Nigel and L.A. Par-K. The Outsiders then storm the ring, with Kevin Nash hitting the powerbomb on Nigel and Scott Hall hitting the Razor’s Edge on L.A. Par-K. They go for the double covers, but Paul Birchill and La Parka II make the save. The match devolves into mass chaos with all four teams in the ring, but somewhere in the frenzy Nigel McGuinness rolls up Bubba Dudley (with his feet on the ropes) for the victory!
Winners: The British Invasion @ 11:16 (80/83/75)

NEW Boston Harbor Championship:
James Gibson © vs. Jay Lethal vs. Homicide
In a fast paced, but surprisingly short match, Jay Lethal and Homicide attempt to rekindle their old feud, while at the same time trying to take out the champ, James Gibson. Homicide and Jay Lethal make a game out of seeing who can chop Gibson the hardest, with Lethal even succeeding in busting open Gibson’s chest at one point. This fires up Gibson, who hits a series of vertical suplexes on both men, but gets caught with the Cop Killa from Homicide. Lethal catches Homicide off-guard with the dragon suplex, but before soon gets caught in the Trailer Hitch from Gibson and is forced to tap out.
Winner: James Gibson @ 7:13 (76/74/78)

20 Man Battle Royal (Winner gets $100,000):

Ken Kennedy eliminated Mephisto at 13:50.
Ken Kennedy eliminated Ultimo Dragon at 17:45.
Winner: Ken Kennedy @ 17:45 (69/75/57)

NEW World Championship:
Rey Mysterio © vs. Chris Jericho

The crowd was extremely behind Mysterio for this bout, as you might have guessed. Jericho really heeled it up, hitting numerous blind low blows and getting several near falls in the process. Jericho went for his cocky pin on two occasions, resulting in garbage being thrown into the ring. Mysterio then made a big comeback, hitting the 619 and the West Coast Pop on Jericho. Jericho somehow kicked out, but Mysterio remained in control, hitting the Frog Splash for the victory!
Winner: Rey Mysterio @ 9:10 (91/97/80)

Mid-Atlantic Championship:
“Nature Boy” Ric Flair © vs. John Cena vs. “The Legend Killer Randy Orton” vs. Kane

In a methodical match, all the men used their experience and mental resources to outwit and out-cheat one another. During the match, Christian Cage pulled Kane out of the ring and attacked him. Kane, not resisting a fight, Chokeslammed Christian Cage over the ring-barrier into the crowd. Christian, always persists, came-back to attack Kane and they brawled their way through the crowd. Cena put Orton in the F-U, and then Flair gave his signature “hand-shake” (low blow) on Cena. In the end, the Dirtiest Player in the Game Ric Flair, out-cheated everyone and made Randy Orton tap-out with the Figure-Four at 12:34.
Winner: Ric Flair @ 12:34 (87/96/69)

NWA Midwest Title Match:
Chris Benoit © vs. Batista

This is Batista's first shot at the NWA Midwest Title since September 9th, one week after he lost it to Benoit at Hotter Than Hell. Batista earned the shot by beating Abyss, William Regal and Sabu at NWA Midwest's Vendetta. Benoit's held the title since August 27th, and has been very reluctant to defend the belt. It's no different here, as Joey Styles informs us that Benoit tried to get out of tonight's match. Benoit is careful not to allow Batista any offense early on, but Batista gets his licks on about halfway through the match. Benoit rolls out of the ring and tries to walk out, but Kurt Angle comes down the ramp and forces Benoit back to the ring. While the ref is focusing on Angle and Benoit, Abyss comes through the crowd and hits the Shock Treatment on an unsuspecting Batista. Benoit climbs back in the ring and covers the downed "Animal" for the win
WINNER: Chris Benoit @ 13:43 (84/89/74)

Mexican National Championship:
Juventud Guerrera © vs. Pscicosis

This match is off the charts craziness. The crowd is very much behind Pscicosis for the match, popping at every high flying maneuver he does. Guerrera takes quite a beating for a bit, but manages to survive a guillotine leg drop and a corkscrew senton. Juventud makes a dramatic comeback and ends up hitting the Juvie Driver for the first pinfall of the match at 8:45. Pscicosis loses his cool, and hits some aggressive kicks and chops. Pscicosis slows the pace down for a few minutes, as he locks on a brutal looking surfboard stretch, but Juventud makes the comeback. Juventud takes Pscicosis down with a rana, and gets a near fall. Juvie goes for the Juvie Driver, but Psicosis counters and sets him up for another guillotine leg drop. This time Juvie moves out of the way, and pulls himself to the top rope for the 450 splash! Juvie hits the maneuver perfectly, and gets the victory!
Winner: Juventud Guerrera @ 17:54 (87/86/88)

NWA World Heavyweight Championship:
The Rock © vs. El Hijo Del Santo

Even though their styles clash, this match becomes one for the ages. The Rock comes out first, and is booed heavily by the Mexican crowd. The Rock seems to be ignoring the boos at first. Santo comes out to a massive pop, everyone is on their feet. Santo makes it to the ring and stares down The Rock. The crowd is so electric, they want Santo to win very badly. They finally collide, and Santo wrenches the arm of The Rock, twisting it to gain the upper hand. The crowd is delighted. The Rock then reverses the hold and slams Santo down to the mat. The crowd roars in disapproval. The Rock is still ignoring the boos, but you can see in his eyes that he is noticing this. Santo quickly regains his vertical position and ties up with Rock. Santo whips Rock into the turnbuckle and goes back to work on the arm of The Rock. Santo catches Rock in an armbar and they fall to the mat. Rock takes some time to fight out of it, but the move clearly damages him. Rock tries to speed things up a bit, but Santo stubbornly keeps targeting The Rock’s arm. The crowd is eating this up. Finally, Rock catches Santo with a back suplex, and the crowd angrily lets the Rock have it. The Rock, clearly irritated, hits Santo with a spine buster and then begins to mock Santo’s mannerisms, prompting some fans to throw trash into the ring. Rock picks up a mostly filled beverage and throws it back into the crowd where it came from. By this time, Santo is back on his feet, and catches Rock with a headscissors takedown. Rock bounces back up and Santo drop kicks Rock over the ropes. Rock takes some time at ringside to argue with an angry fan, giving Santo a chance to hit a suicide dive! Santo flies through the ropes, and knocks Rock into the barricade. Santo then rolls Rock back into the ring and proceeds to mock some of The Rock’s mannerisms, to the delight of the crowd. Santo then goes for the camel clutch, and locks it onto The Rock right in the middle of the ring. Rock looks like he’s about to tap, and almost incites a riot when he escapes after almost two minutes trapped in the hold. Rock drops Santo onto the mat with another spine buster and sets him up for the people’s elbow! The crowd wants to kill Rock at this point. Rock tosses his elbow pad into the audience and bounces off the ropes, but while doing this Santo bounces to his feet. Rock runs right into an armdrag from Santo, who follows it up with a swinging surfboard! Santo goes for a quick cover, which the Rock kicks out of. Rock is in a daze, so Santo rolls him up again, but Rock kicks out again. Santo sets Rock up in the corner and climbs the turnbuckle. Santo goes for the diving head-butt, but Rock moves out of the way! Santo is hurt and is easy prey for the Rock Bottom! Rock goes for the cover and it’s 1………2………NO! Santo somehow kicked out! Rock is furious and is preparing for a second Rock Bottom. As Rock goes for the move, Santo drop toe holds Rock into the turnbuckles. Santo arm drags Rock to the mat and heads to the top rope again. Santo dives off on his second flying head-butt attempt, this time hitting Rock perfectly! Santo goes for the cover and it’s 1…….2………3! Holy crap, we have a new World Champion!
Winner: El Hijo Del Santo @ 29:30 (88/96/72)

Styles and Mad Dog proceed to mark out big time, as the arena is filled with streamers and fans jumping up and down in celebration! The entire NWA: Mexico roster floods the ring and celebrates with Santo over his huge title victory. This is truly a moment that will live forever in wrestling history!

Wow, I didn't expect Santo to pick up the win like that.

SamoaRowe - November 1, 2006 04:19 AM (GMT)
Santo/Rock was a classic match, in that even though the work-rate wasn't so high, the atmosphere in the building was unforgettable (sort of like Hogan/Rock).

I'm glad Santo won, long live the new NWA Champion.
