Title: How will we decide...
Description: where a champion goes

Big F'N Swigg - May 13, 2006 06:09 PM (GMT)
So far we have two ideas....

The NWA Championship Committee discusses and decides as a group...

or

The Territories that want a champion send "sealed bids" which include their ideas for how the champ will be used.

This will be written into the rules for champions, so lets discuss

I think decided as a group is not as good an idea for two reasons.

1. We have trouble discussing things, because of the restraints of a messageboard. It seems to take something like a week or more to discuss a simple topic like rules because you have to post and wait for someone to post. If we were all on messenger, and hashed it out, it'd be easier, but alot of the people in NWA don't use it, so that is cool.

2. It ruins the element of suprise. If we all get together and talk about the reasons new NWA Champ _______ should be sent to each of our respective territories, it ruins the "watching" experience for everyone. I would much rather have sealed bids, so I didn't know where the big NWA Champ angle was headed.

And reasons I think it would be beneficial to do the second:

1. The element of suprise. As mentioned above, I think it adds a nice effect to have everyone submitting their individual ideas and offers. Then we're all actively trying to get the Champ to our territory (assuming you want him) and then we're anxious to see how the champion is used.

2. Interactivity. Sending in sealed bids gives a nice sense of interactivity between all the territories. It forces us to work together, and it may also end up in some talent exchanges. While the main point of sealed bids is to offer an angle proposal for the champion, you may also include workers for use, if you think it will help your case.

3. Fun. I just think it adds a fun layer to the game, and some friendly competition between territories.

Good arguments.

You know, I feel like we've started 18 of these threads, and until someone other than you or I gets in here, it feels kind of pointless, don't you think?

I definitly agree that it would be a bad idea to rely on us having group conversations about things, thus the sealed bid idea would work a lot better.

I'm good either way.

Another reason the group conversation may not work

So are we going with the sealed bid idea?

jamiegeist - May 15, 2006 03:15 AM (GMT)
Well, we have 7 total votes, and I've mentioned we won't hear from smKelly for a few reasons for a while.

I voted bids, Rowe voted bids, Plague voted "meh". So it is 2-0 for bids, with 3 needed for a win. I think DK was for bids, but I can't be sure.

If you're for bids Swiggy, then yeah, set it in stone.

prof_plague - May 15, 2006 05:56 AM (GMT)
Abstentions go towards the majority, so it's basically like having three already.

For the record.......I think that the bids are our best bet.

Bids it is, then
