According to sources in NWA Midwest, Chris Benoit is asking for some matches with Sabu.  He'll get what he wants this Saturday, 5/13, on NWA Saturday Night.  It's possible more match ups between the two could happen down the line, but it all depends on the match this weekend.

The idea behind the backstage moment with Kennedy & Funk is to test the waters for a feud between the two.  It's expected to be a bit of a slow build, but both workers are apparently excited about the idea.

Those in charge were said to be happy with the Batista-Raven match, and hope to take Raven back to more of a loose cannon type of character.  There is talk of involving Raven in a feud with Sabu or Abyss to further this along.

Look forward to seeing more of the X Division coming up.  There is talk of an X-Division championship tournament.  Jerry Lynn is rumored to be one of the major considerations for the first NWA Midwest X Division Champion

So I realized I had my show on the wrong network, and now it's fixed. Sorry about that

SamoaRowe - April 21, 2006 07:14 PM (GMT)
My show sold two more tickets than yours did ;)

jamiegeist - April 21, 2006 07:27 PM (GMT)
THAT explains the ratings. Thanks. I was a bit confused.

jamiegeist - April 21, 2006 09:05 PM (GMT)
Just finished your show. I thought it was an okay show, but it didn't do much for me in the way of the first show. It didn't seem to set up much, and a little specificity on which matches were tournament matches would have helped. I know you have a bracket and all, but a simple "1st Round Tournament Match: Batista v Raven" might be a nice touch.

I like the fact that your announcers give a little intro to each match, talking about the pros and cons, like Raven's lack of being able to get in Batista's head. Those were a nice touch.

And like I said, I would really like to see your segment ratings after each match and segment to just see how each thing is getting over, and what kind of in-ring chemistry your matches had.

NWA Midwest held a backstage meeting after their first show to introduce the workers to it's new financial backer, Jim Crockett.  Crockett assured the workers that he will be a silent partner, and that booker T.B. Swiggy will maintain all creative control.

NWA Midwest is pleased to announce that Jim Crockett has agreed to become silent partner and financial backer of NWA Midwest.  Mr. Crockett has happily supplied us with funding that allows for neccessities NWA Midwest once thought unattainable.  That being said, the NWA Midwest brand new graphics department has supplied us with a graphic for the Championship Tournament brackets.

NWA Midwest thanks Mr. Crockett for his generosity.  We hope to keep him on the edge of his seat for many years.

Awesome.

tjwills00 - April 24, 2006 03:24 AM (GMT)
Really had a hard time getting into the show. It just didn't seem to describe what was going on or give any sort of visual idea what the angles were going down like. Not a fan, I must say.

Be sure to tune into NWA Midwest's Saturday Night this weekend on TBS, as you'll get to "The Hardcore Legend" Terry Funk taking on "The MONSTER" Abyss.  You'll also see our Main Event of "The Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit taking on the "Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal" Sabu.  These two have had some AMAZING encounters in the past, including Benoit breaking Sabu's neck.  Expect nothing less this weekend.

Hear from last weeks Championship Tournament winners, William Regal and Batista.  They'll tell us why it's so important for them to win the tournament, and who they hope to face in the finals.

Also, see a 3 man X Division match up, as well as the Naturals in tag team action.

Check us out this Saturday Night on THE SUPERSTATION!

Big F'N Swigg - April 28, 2006 02:10 AM (GMT)
Ok, I was trying to set up when my "Event" would take place, and somehow the game decided that the 13th was going to be the date. I tried to fix it, and somehow moved to the 14th by accident. So my show this week won't have any of the ratings.

jamiegeist - April 28, 2006 08:30 PM (GMT)
I'm not following you here Swigg. What are you saying?

Big F'N Swigg - April 29, 2006 12:08 AM (GMT)
I was on the 13th in my game. Not thinking, I went to events, and went to "alter event" and it set the date for the 13th. I tried to remove it, but you can't alter the show (other than to make one) after the first of the month. I tried to get rid of it, and ended up moving on to Sunday. So my Saturday show didn't happen in the game

jamiegeist - April 29, 2006 06:35 PM (GMT)
Why were you dealing with events? I'm a bit confused. Isn't your TV scheduled to happenn on Sat night regardless of your events?

Big F'N Swigg - April 29, 2006 07:00 PM (GMT)
I was trying to see when I had an event scheduled for the month. That's when it all started.

jamiegeist - April 29, 2006 07:02 PM (GMT)
I still don't quite see why that had any effect on your weekly TV. I'm a bit confused still .

Big F'N Swigg - April 29, 2006 07:08 PM (GMT)
The game made the big show the same night as my TV show. So when the show was cancelled, I gave up my TV for the night.

All that really matters is that my show won't have the ratings attached. That's all that's important

jamiegeist - April 29, 2006 07:12 PM (GMT)
Ah-Ha! I get it now. Makes sense. Yeah, not a big deal or anything.

Wow. Great F'n Show. I don't know what crawled up your PJs, but this is about 40 times better than last week. Loved your format. I think it would be hard to keep up over the long run, but if you can, it read beautifully, and I could visualize everything.

3-way told a good story, and I liked the save afterwards. Puts some immediate interest into Onyx, Homicide, and Lynn. Didn't get the Delirious shit having never seen him.

Abyss/Funk was great, with Kennedy totally stealing the show. I could feel every part of that. Looking forward to Abyss/Batista.

CM Punk's promo with the ruler was the SHIT. Not sure if you stole it or not. If you did, still, good steal. If not, awesome.

Regal's promo was a nice touch, and written in perfect voice.

Benoit-Sabu was great too, and I loved the Sabu blown spot. Can't believe they pulled out a 93 Match Quality. Impressive.

Altogether, great show. Keep this up.

Big F'N Swigg - May 2, 2006 11:04 PM (GMT)
That took me SOOO much time to write. The problem being that I couldn't just have one match with a lot of commentary just because Kennedy came down.

But in the end, it was worth it.

And I've only seen CM Punk live, never anything taped. So not much on the microphone, really

Last week's episode of "Saturday Night" was EXPLOSIVE.  Abyss advanced in the Championship Tournament with some possibly unintentional help from Ken Kennedy.  Chris Benoit also advanced after a EXTREMELY high risk maneuver from Sabu crippled the "Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal maniac."

This week looks to be just as explosive.  We'll hear from both Chris Benoit and Batista about why the NWA Championship Tournament is important to them.  We'll also see both men in their semifinal matchups.  Benoit will take on William Regal, and Batista will take on The Monster Abyss.

We'll also see the in ring debut of CM Punk, as he takes on the young up and comer Jimmy Jacobs.  We'll hear about the special arrangement NWA Midwest has made with NWA Mexico.  And we'll hear from Homicide about why he interfered in last weeks Triple Threat Match.  Tune in this Saturday!

Big F'N Swigg - May 6, 2006 08:37 PM (GMT)
I fixed my game so that I could actually run last week's show, and in the process Jim Crockett bought my company. So I've changed it so that Jim Crockett is now my Financial backer.

What a conflict of styles, eh?

jamiegeist - May 6, 2006 08:42 PM (GMT)
Fat Frank Iadiaiviaivia is my owner. Is that shit just totally random or what?

And Crockett buying you is awesome.

jamiegeist - May 9, 2006 01:58 PM (GMT)

Big F'N Swigg - May 9, 2006 02:27 PM (GMT)

DWBNWAMidwest.com Interview with Jerry Lynn.

Joey Styles: This is Joey Styles, here with the man who practically invented the X-Division, Jerry Lynn.  Jerry, it is GREAT to have you in NWA Midwest.

Jerry Lynn: Joey, I'll tell you right now, this place is THE place to be.

Joey Styles: Now that we've put over the terrritory like we were asked, let's get to business.  How's the shoulder doing?

Lynn: Well, I don't think it will ever be 100% again.  That being said, I don't think it's been 100% since I started in the business.  But it's good, and I'm confident that it will hold up well until I decide to stop lacing up my boots.

Styles: Alright.  Now on to more urgent matters... What do you think of your colleagues/competitors in the X Division?

Lynn:  Well, I think there's a lot of talent.  A lot of under-utilized talent, actually.  I've actually been talking with the management about giving the NWA Midwest X Divison more TV time.

Styles: Really?

Lynn: Yeah.  The guys look up to me, and I try to make sure I don't take advantage of that.  I really appreciate the fact that they trust me.

Styles: So what does it feel like when someone like, say, Homicide, comes out and blatantly disrespects the X Division, and specifically you.

Lynn: Well, Joey, it's not easy to accept. We all work hard to be good in that ring, Homicide included.  So when one guy, in this case Homicide, comes out and says what he said on Saturday, it's something we all take personal.

Styles:  How do you feel about his comments about taking the X Divison up a notch?  It could be said that you yourself were one of the first to set the bar on the intensity of the X Divison, how does it feel to have someone like Homicide say that the bar you set wasn't high enough?

Lynn:  It gets to you a bit.  Like I said before, the guys look up to me, and when someone challenges me like that, they expect me to do something about it.

Styles: So what are you going to do?

Lynn:  **Looks into camera** Right here, on DWBNWAMidwest.com, I'm issuing a challenge.  A challenge to Homicide.  If you've got the cajones, Homicide, I want to face you one on one this Saturday night.  I'll show you what it means to raise the bar .  A few years ago, I was a young up and comer, and I took Rob Van Dam to his limits.  If you are what you say you are, Homicide, I expect you to do the same.

Big F'N Swigg - May 12, 2006 08:59 PM (GMT)

This past Saturday was a show that won't be forgotten soon.  Jerry Lynn bested the arrogant Homicide, Raven was attacked by a mystery opponent and The British Invasion aided their countryman by attacking his opponent at Summer Glory.

This week, one day before Summer Glory, we'll see none other than the Hardcore Legend Terry Funk in action.  Chris Benoit will take on Bill Alfonso to get vengeance after Alfonso cost him a chance at the title.

We'll hear from Batista, and get his feelings on The British Invasion's interference.  Homicide will also get a chance to vent after losing to Jerry Lynn, and there will be an announcement about the NEW NWA Midwestern Tag Team Championships.

You'll see all that and more this Saturday Night from the Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Indiana!

Your best show yet Swigg. That was a great show, and a very easy read. Nice build, even on short notice, for some matches fo Summer Glory.

I was suprised to see the Freaks go over the England team, but hopefully you make good on that. And the Raven/Funk v Kennedy/Roode stuff is nice, and I always love me a mystery man angle.

Good show, I look forward to going and reading Summer Glory now.
