Most go on sale this Saturday. I'm going to try to score the Denver date, but the Buell holds maybe 3,000 people. Cost is $66.66 + tax and fees.
SamoaRowe - April 20, 2006 05:11 PM (GMT)
I would love to go to the Boston show, though I'm probably not going to be able to afford it.
Which I guess is okay, I've seen them twice in the past.
Real F'n Show - April 20, 2006 09:12 PM (GMT)
Dammit, nowhere close, might have to catch the Minneapolis show though. I've seen them twice (both times in Iowa) and I figure it's well worth traveling the 3 hours to Minneapolis to see them...
The Last Free Voice - April 21, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)
Fuck, they're not coming anywhere within reasonable distance... Looks like I have to wait to see them when they get back from Europe...
eStragand - April 22, 2006 04:18 PM (GMT)
Fuck! Did the best I could, but it sold out in less than 3 minutes.

 Whoah. Are you serious?
eStragand - April 26, 2006 02:33 AM (GMT)
Yup. I was on TicketMolester's site at 10am... clicked "order", but by 10:03 am tickets were "not available". It was a very, very small venue, anyways. About 3,000 tops.
Real F'n Show - April 26, 2006 12:30 PM (GMT)
I couldn't get any either.
eStragand - July 22, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
Bumping this back, cuz' a new leg of the tour is now on sale.
I got 9th row, right in the middle, for their Denver date.

They're playing my town the day after my birthday. If I can get tickets, I'll be there.
eStragand - August 31, 2006 07:04 AM (GMT)
Yup. Just got back. Excellent show.. they play the songs you want to hear. No goofy intermissions or "soundscape" bullshit.
I'll do a full report sometime tomorrow. Off to sleep and to shit the bed in delight.
SamoaRowe - August 31, 2006 07:53 PM (GMT)
Tool is coming to town on October 3rd for me. As much as I hate to miss the chance to see them again, my wallet just can't handle it right now.
SamoaRowe - September 27, 2006 09:29 PM (GMT)
Just thought I'd mention that I am going to see Tool in Manchester, NH next Tuesday :D I'm psyched.
eStragand - September 27, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)
That's a good mention. Be sure to check back here and share your experience with the class. Shit the bed!
SamoaRowe - September 27, 2006 10:24 PM (GMT)
I'll be sure to share all the fun details. It's been four years since the last time I saw them, so I'm pretty psyched.
SamoaRowe - October 4, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
So I went to Tool last night. It was a great show, as always.
The opening act, Isis, was alright. They had their moments, though everyone around me wasn't impressed by them.
Tool then takes the stage, and while I don't remember the exact order, the song listing was:
Stinkfist
The Pot
46 and 2
Jambi
Rosetta Stoned
Schism
Wings for Marie
10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2)
Lateralus
Vicarious
Aenima
Doesn't sound like a lot of songs, but considering the length of most of them, it was a satisfying show.
eStragand - October 4, 2006 07:23 PM (GMT)
That set list sounds correct. Looks like they're doing the 10,000 Days double-dip to replace "Sober" and "Opiate".
This site usually has accurate set lists and up-to-the-minute reviews, in case you wanna' confirm:
http://toolshed.down.net/I think everyone feels the same way as you about Isis. Just "okay". Not "awesome", yet not "holy fuck, get them off the stage".
Was Maynard wearing his straw cowboy hat and boots?!
SamoaRowe - October 4, 2006 08:05 PM (GMT)
Ah, according to that website, the set was:
Stinkfist
The Pot
Forty Six & 2
Jambi
Schism
Lost Keys
Rosetta Stoned
Wings For Marie
10,000 Days
Lateralus
Vicarious
Ænema
So I was damn close.
SamoaRowe - October 4, 2006 08:07 PM (GMT)
Oh, and reading what Tool fans have to say makes my head hurt. Seriously, they are some of the most obnoxious fans in the entire world.

| First off the Lateralus tour was way better and had a pit. I dont understand how people can sit down in the front and have a good time. Tool has changed and if they dont start putting out good musick again they will lose me as a fan. You cant have a heavy metal concert without a pit. I mean really the goth heads at the skinny puppy concert in philly were moshing. maynard didnt move the whole show and everyone else pretty much stood still the whole night. When I saw tool back in 98 on the ozzfest tour they were great. This wasnt great and stop trying to act like pink floyd and just play heavy and loud. Tool fans have changed into a bunch of yuppie scum from what it was in the beginning. The slayer show was much better and had a pit. I dont go to the show only for the musick its the whole thing and lights dont do it. Chicks taking off their tops does and I didnt see any naked breasts tonight. And they stopped selling drinks at 10pm lame. Tool listen up dudes put out another CD and make it soon and harder and more aggressive and stop trying to be Creed and preaching all the time in the lyrics they should fire Maynard. Who told that guy to sing in falsetto on the pot horrible. If your going to do a wall like concept cd then to it already at least smashing pumpkins tried with mellon collie. Five years between cd's is stupid. Shelf the perfect circle crap already . You ruined imagine. Tool is starting to fad away just like Metallica did. Listen to your fans. |
eStragand - October 4, 2006 08:43 PM (GMT)
Yeah..they either come off as conceited pricks or delusional idiots. Stuff like "you don't understand the true essence of TOOL, man.."
I glanced at some of the reviews for Manchester show. I guess it was slightly chilly, so Maynard said:

Real F'n Show - October 4, 2006 09:04 PM (GMT)
GENIOUS BITCHES. Especially if WMD reads this thread.
Really though, I'm surprised the guy didn't say he was disappointed he didn't get a blowjob at the show...
Mad Dog - October 4, 2006 09:15 PM (GMT)
I don't get music fans. If a band stops entertaining you then just don't buy the new crappy CDs. Enjoy the good stuff they put out and don't whine about it. Every band is going to start to suck sooner or later. Not everyone can be good until the day they die like Johnny Cash.
SamoaRowe - October 14, 2006 04:16 AM (GMT)
It's the same thing with Simpsons "fans." They claim the show has been garbage since the 8th season, but they still watch it any way. That means, according to them, the show has been garbage for TEN years! Chances are if they haven't liked the last ten seasons, they aren't going to start liking it again, so they should just stop watching it.
Back on subject, since hearing the songs from 10,000 Days live in concert, my appreciation have them has grown considerably, especially for "Wings for Marie" and "10,000 Days." I didn't even really like "Jambi" before the concert, but now I've been listening to it several times a day.
