Title: The OFFICIAL DWB:NWA Questions Thread
Description: Uh...I was wondering...
jamiegeist - April 18, 2006 10:57 PM (GMT)
This is the place to ask questions to each other about details on NWA. A place for us to discuss things and come to decisions on open matters.
1. For instace. I'm a bit confused about the setup for "one big show per month" as detailed in some rules some time ago. What setting will this show be under, and will it be broadcasted on TBS? Or is it just a big Arena Show.
2. Another question, and request that I have, is for our method of posting ratings and matches. I think it would be very nice to see everyone's match and segment ratings for their shows, as well as their overall ratings, and Television ratings. You may write up your shows however you see fit, but I would request that following the writeup, you show the segment ratings, and assign the proper star rating, if applicable.
For instance, if your match is Overall: 85, Crowd: 75, Match Quality: 95 you would type up your match report and then say (85/75/95) or something to that affect. Then using the scale I developed, assignt the proper star rating to the overall rating. Here is a post I made about that:

Okay, I have an idea for a match ratings system, and I'm gonna go with it. The lowest match rating on my first show was for Mickie/Torrie, which was probably pretty fuckin horrible. That was a 49 Rating overall - so, a DUD. The 10 man Main Event got an 81 Rating. It was probably an entertaining match.
So, the scale will run from 50-100, with one * being 60, 2 ** in the 70's, and so on. I imagine a ***** match is damn near impossible, which is good, and a **** would be very impressive.
To clarify: 60 = *, 70 = **, 80 = ***, 90 = ****, 100 = *****. |
So the aforementioned match would rate out at a ***1/2. I think this could be fun for tracking matches (as we do in real life) and having people be able to gloat about having the MOTY so far in the entire NWA. Just a thought. Just looking for some feedback and ideas. I'm just tossing ideas out there to increase the experience.
3. What are everyone's individual territory names and abbreviations? I just don't think we've tossed this one out there yet. We (myself and Vice President tjwills00) are NWACSW: Central States Wrestling.

IMHO, I'd say let each promoter decide what the large show is. To be honest, I was going to make some of them television specials and for others just claim they would be getting dvd releases, like ROH events.

That's a nice idea. Generally speaking, is it just a marquee television slot appearance?
I don't know the game that well, but if we just schedule a "Large Event" under events, that won't necessarily be broadcast.....will it?
SamoaRowe - April 19, 2006 02:40 AM (GMT)
I think the game treats them as untelevised events unless you are running a pay-per-view. Typically the bigger feds just do ppvs and ignore running large shows and under.
jamiegeist - April 19, 2006 03:44 AM (GMT)
I do love your idea of treating them as Supercards released to DVD. Hope you don't mind if I steal it.
Oh, and will the game still rate your matches and segments, and all that jazz?

I have an idea.
Make sub-forums for all the different territories.
And keep this one for meetings, and news.
Make it happen Admin or Mods !

I like that idea, but we need the name of all territories so it can be done properly.

Simply put:
NWA: Mid-Atlantic
Trying to keep it old school.
(Unless I literally change it to "NWA: Simply Put".)
Now that I say it...
"NWA: Old School" does have a nice ring to it. Any thoughts?
jamiegeist - April 19, 2006 05:02 AM (GMT)
Central States Wrestling respectfully asks you to not use NWA: Old School as it interferes with plan of their slogan: "Making the old school new again"
Mid-Atlantic has such a sweet ring to it anyway. How to you abbreviate it? Just M-A?
prof_plague - April 19, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
Haha - nice slogan. Yeah, I'll stick with NWA: Mid-Atlantic, or NWA:M-A or MA

Just thought of a new one. Do we have a storyline to run with, just to help us all start on the same page? I mean, it is May 2006 on all of our games. Did Vince get in legal trouble, have to sell it all, and a mythical NWA board of directors swoops in to save wrestling, by "making the old school new again" and going back to the territory system?
Do former title holders even exist? I mean, obviously these characters are the characters as of this point, but I'm just curious how we flow from there.
prof_plague - April 19, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
All my titles are fresh holders.

Posted this once, and it got bogged down or just completely ignored:
Can we come up with a simple, easy storyline to explain why both TNA and WWE are shut down, and the NWA lives once again with 5 (or 6) different territories, and yet it is May 2006??

You could always use the "Bought out by private investors" as the storyline.
Like all of us collectively in the NWA put funds together to purchase TNA and WWE. The WWE sale only included the active roster but did not include name rights, tape collection, etc. WWF CEO Vince McMahon decided to go into the film business upon the success of See No EVil.
There you go. Stupid, but quick and easy.
jamiegeist - April 20, 2006 05:15 AM (GMT)
That's all I ask for. That story their works. Private Investors from the NWA bought out everything for like 800 kabillion dollars. Vince is out of the game then? Sounds cool to me.
jamiegeist - April 20, 2006 03:28 PM (GMT)
Not sure who does this, but do you think we could take the Pins off the two topics at the top, and maybe Pin each of our separate territory threads, the saturday night thread, and maybe the Signings thread as well?
dynamite kido - April 22, 2006 06:05 PM (GMT)
I have a question. How do you control who the owner is for your company? I was getting started to do my show and Linda McMahon is now the owner? Can I change this?
jamiegeist - April 22, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
Odd. I have no owner. Not sure how or why that happened to my game, or to your game.
Not sure how to change it either. I'll check it out though.
