I voted for everyone but Cornette and Davey Boy. Those were tough omissions, but what can you do?

I'll keep the list of omissions for when I go back to doing one at a time nominations twice a month later this year. I figure this way, the HOF will have a good chunk of the "shoe ins" which will make me feel less quilty when I nominate controversial picks to stir up a conversation.

eStragand - March 28, 2006 05:21 AM (GMT)
What list? I probably wouldn't have sent a legitimate list of possible inductees, anyways. I would've had Bad News Brown and Magnificent Mimi..that's it.

I voted for a good portion, leaving out Savage, Smith, Cornette and Austin.

SamoaRowe - March 28, 2006 05:25 AM (GMT)
I just spent the last week saying "PM me your list of 15 nominations" every chance I got. :(

jamiegeist - March 28, 2006 05:32 AM (GMT)
Voted -- and I left of Double A. Just not really a first ballot guy to me, so sue me. Cornette squeaked in.

I also love looking at that list of people who recieved votes. Pretty cool actually to see everyone's differing tastes.

And its about time we did this shit. Lets get it done and move on to the first real inductee. And I demand you ammend that process as well! Something like this would work great, cause this is a nice list. Maybe everyone suggests 3, and the leading vote-getter will then be put on trial for induction.

Or something.

dynamite kido - March 28, 2006 05:48 AM (GMT)
I voted for everyone outside of Cornette, Arn, and Davey Boy. Not that I don't think that they should get in, but there are plenty others that should be in FIRST.

prof_plague - March 28, 2006 06:13 AM (GMT)
I voted for everyone, as that was most of the people on my list.

whitemilesdavis - March 28, 2006 12:54 PM (GMT)
Voted. No Greg Valentine? Uggh.

Big F'N Swigg - March 28, 2006 02:34 PM (GMT)
What? No Kaufman? BUT HE'S FROM HOLLYWOOD!!!!

Scrooge McSuck - March 28, 2006 02:39 PM (GMT)
I voted for everyone minus DBS. He's not a "sure thing" to me, even though I did speak up about him months ago. He just would create discussion.

prof_plague - March 28, 2006 04:34 PM (GMT)
So many people complained about not wanting DBS in the HoF, but he got enough votes to at least be on the top ten. My thought for DBS is that he was part of one of the greatest tag teams and was a great singles wrestler, especially in the early 90s.

If Tony Atlas can be in a HoF with logic behind it, DBS can be too. The only thing with DBS is that he wrestled as a tag team and as a singles wrestle about years later than Atlas, he's dead - so people automatically think it's a "sympathy vote", and he's not black.

Scrooge McSuck - March 28, 2006 07:48 PM (GMT)
Tony Atlas isn't in our Hall of Fame, and never will be. "Honorable Mentions" like Brody, Rotundo, and Foley deserve a spot more than him.

whitemilesdavis - March 28, 2006 07:56 PM (GMT)
Tony Atlas had one great angle with Kevin Sullivan in Georgia. I was very young when I saw it, but I loved it.

dynamite kido - March 28, 2006 09:10 PM (GMT)
Honestly, Atlas does have SORT of a case (I wouldn't vote yes, but still). If anyone here watched WWF back in the 85/86 time frame or before can tell you how much of a star they were building Atlas to be. He was the second babyface in the whole company at points JUST behind Hogan. There's no doubt in my mind that he would have been a solid main event babyface for years if he wasn't black..............and that was during a different time in our country and in wrestling. So that's my explaination of it....

whitemilesdavis - March 28, 2006 09:20 PM (GMT)
Black, and a HUGE drug problem.

Scrooge McSuck - March 28, 2006 10:01 PM (GMT)
That's what kills him. His stay on top was very brief, plus the fact he really didn't do anything of positive note since like 1988.

SamoaRowe - April 3, 2006 01:23 PM (GMT)
I'm going to induct the new HOFers tonight after school (and before my new wave of homework).

So, could DK or RFS please close this around 5:30 tonight?

I wanted Kaufman in too. This is bullshit! :clap-clap-clap-clap-clap:

jamiegeist - April 4, 2006 09:30 PM (GMT)
Yay, induction ceremony tonight. We should have a "inducted by", it would be fun. I'm bored...should probably go back to work now.
