Title: DWB Music HoF?
The Last Free Voice - March 20, 2006 03:40 PM (GMT)
Would you all be interested in starting our own little Music Hall of Fame? It'd be pretty much the same criteria as the one in General Wrestling, except that Active bands still count.
If so, who should be our first nominee(s)?
SamoaRowe - March 20, 2006 03:42 PM (GMT)
Jimi Hendrix
Janis Joplin
Led Zeppelin
Bob Marely
Pink Floyd
Nirvana
Alice in Chains
Those would be my initial thoughts :)
The Last Free Voice - March 20, 2006 03:44 PM (GMT)
I guess I'll suggest some as well:
The Clash
The Cure
Joy Division
The Who
U2
SamoaRowe - March 20, 2006 03:48 PM (GMT)
Good picks, LFV.
I'll add AC/DC.

Okay, how about we leave this thread open for a week, then the five bands that are named the most will be up for our "First Class" and then we'll do the sperate polls thing?

I won't contribute much here in the way of all of you, but I'd say Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.
whitemilesdavis - March 20, 2006 05:01 PM (GMT)
Elvis, Stones, U2, Bob Marley, Otis Redding.
SamoaRowe - March 20, 2006 06:00 PM (GMT)
I second U2, Rolling Stones, Cure, and even Elvis.
And perhaps even the Beatles.
Real F'n Show - March 21, 2006 12:57 AM (GMT)
Johnny Cash
Bob Dylan
Tom Fucking Petty and the Motherfucking Heart Fucking Breakers
The Last Free Voice - March 21, 2006 03:37 PM (GMT)
So far the leaders are:
U2 (3)
Bob Marley (2)
Elvis (2)
The Cure (2)
Rolling Stones (2)
Big F'N Swigg - March 21, 2006 05:14 PM (GMT)
TheGreatWhiteChoate - March 21, 2006 05:17 PM (GMT)
Queen
Pink Floyd
Johnny Cash
Michael Jackson
And I dunno if he counts, but of course:
2pac
jamiegeist - March 21, 2006 06:11 PM (GMT)
Yes, I'll toss in a vote for 2pac, Queen, and Stevie Wonder as well.
The Last Free Voice - March 21, 2006 08:09 PM (GMT)
Cash (3)
U2 (3)
2Pac (2)
Cure (2)
Marley (2)
Elvis (2)
Stones (2)
Queen (2)
We'll go with the top Five, and if this tie holds, that'll be the second class, I suppose.
If someone's mentioned one you agree with, feel free to second it (as a couple of ya have done), but obviously, saying a band more than once won't count. I'm not THAT dumb.
I'd like to toss up Black Sabbath, Minor Threat and the Ramones.
SamoaRowe - March 21, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)
Pink Floyd has two votes too, Choate agreed with me B)

Honestly, I don't believe this is a good idea. If we had 50 regular posters, then possibly. We all kind of know what each person appreciates, so to repeat ourselves again would be redundantly repeating ourselves again, reduntantly.
whitemilesdavis - March 22, 2006 01:14 PM (GMT)
That's what we do here.
And in other news, that's what we do here.
Darryl The Hitman - December 9, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
Johnny Cash
The Beatles
Carl Perkins
Chuck Berry
Little Richard
