Well, in kayfabe terms Vince Russo did win the WCW Championship, so I suppose a case could be made that he is at least the Warrior's equal :D

And doesn't Russo hold at least a couple victories over Ric Flair?

Scrooge McSuck - July 4, 2005 07:04 PM (GMT)
Yes... and if anyone really needs me to explain why he should be in the HoS, you obviously have no idea just how fucking bad Vince Russo was. With 3 words (Actually 2 words and an abreviation), he killed WCW! His stupid booking and nonsense storylines fucking killed a at one time #1 promotion, and he was only there for a year!

SamoaRowe - July 4, 2005 07:07 PM (GMT)
WCW was well on it's way to death when Russo came on board, I think he just helped speed things up.

Scrooge McSuck - July 4, 2005 07:10 PM (GMT)
I disagree. Was WCW pretty bad? Yes, but remember, WWF survived a horrible run from 1992-1997 and came back for more, and WCW had enough young wrestlers to make new stars out of. Russo somehow made everything 1,000 times worse than it was before, made everyone turn heel/face on an average 5 weeks, and put on dog shit shows every night.

SamoaRowe - July 4, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
I dunno... the awfulness of Great American Bash 1999 and a bunch of other stuff that was happening pre-Russo makes my head explode.

I do agree that Russo's booking was indeed awful in WCW. The WCW title changed hands 5 times in May 2000 alone and he even said in an interview that he viewed the championship as a mere prop and he would have it change hands every single Nitro if he thought it would help ratings.

I did like the initial New Blood angle, but it fell apart so quickly that it was very disappointing.

Great American Bash '99... God damn you, Rowe, I had blocked that god damn show out of my head, and now you bring it back! Remember though, Vince Russo had the idea to push a stable with such elite wrestlers as Hugh Morrus, Van Hammer, and Lash LeRoux... come the fuck on, what was he smoking?

You mean the Misfits in Action? They just were inducted into Wrestlecrap :D I actually thought they were cool at the time (I was 15, don't yell at me).

Are you telling me that Hugh Morrus becoming General Hugh G. Rection was a bad idea?

Or Corporal Cajun (Lash LeRoux), Lt. Loco (Chavo Guerrero), Major Gunns (Tylene Buck), Sgt. A-Wol (The Wall), and the much demanded return of G.I. Bro (Booker T)?

Geez, Russo can't get a break anywhere

How creative... AWOL. That's like calling Rosey S.H.I.T....

Since Gewirtz (SP?) has left WWE creative, I think that means he is qualified :P I can think of some others who I would like to put up for nominations.

whitemilesdavis - July 4, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
Well, he does suck.

dynamite kido - July 5, 2005 01:11 PM (GMT)

I voted no.

Que?

Is it because you liked what he did to the WWF in the late 90's or did you actually enjoy what he did to WCW :P

Hey now.."The Dog" was only around for six weeks, tops...until Fit Finlay and Nasty Brian Knobbs abandoned him at a roadside in the middle of the night.

Wait...that was AFTER Russo had left (the first time) and the Great Exodus had occured. (Benoit, Malenko, Saturn and Eddie).
