Title: X Files Digi Packs

Does anybody know anything about digi packs?

Play.com have all seasons on DVD digi packs, available to preorder @£31.99 each. Released in October.

There's no pictures as yet, and I'm curious to see whether they would have all the special features on, audio coms etc.

Typical, when I've just bought seasons 7, 8 and 9

Haven't seen any pictures either, sorry Lisa ;)

I don't know anyone who knows anything yet.

Maybe James could explain what a digipack is though. I'm assuming it's a wider version of a normal DVD case, I don't care so much about the packaging, as long as the features are on.

I thought they were going to be re-released in normal "amaray" boxes, like they were going to do with Buffy before those sets disappeared off the radar

It definitly says 'digipacks'

They've changed the release dates now, 1-2 a month, starting with season 1 on 4 Oct 2004

I always thought digipacks were fold out cardboard cases like they're in now

Just trying to help... ;)

with CD's digipack usually means the fold out cardboard packaging with a glued on plastic insert that the disc fits on.

Paul, like the NIN ones?

No, strike that, they're in cardboard boxes, and the discs' are in normal casing.

Which is what the X Files dvds are in at the moment

Looks like I could have saved myself a few quid

mmmh, so maybe identical to what they're in now.

I've just compared a couple of them. They seem identical in content, maybe they've just changed the packaging slightly. I'm assuming they do change something to re launch them :D

the digipacks are practically the same as the sets already available content-wise. The only difference is in the packaging which will be inferior to the existing sets. In exchange for a £40 or £50 price reduction it's a fair trade.
