Title: Star Trek Enterprise - Season 3 and beyond

Since the UK and the US are practically running side by side, I thought I'd set up a thread to discuss it :)

I've just finished watching The Forgotten, and as has been said before, I think it would be a shame were Enterprise to be cancelled now - I just hope these cancellation threats won't have a detrimental effect to the extent of how S3 finishes since it would be nice for some potential threads to be taken through to a new season.

Thankfully, there are several things which have been abandoned for S3 which could be picked up on, such as the whole Temporal Cold War and the Vulcan/Andorian hostilities - it'd be interesting to see what happened while we were away, as it were! :)

The Xindi arc will definitely be concluded in ZERO HOUR, the only question then becomes what ramifications from that particular arc will carry through to year four, for example will the Sphere Builders be completely neutralised or will that thread endure.

From what I've heard thus far it seems that Year 4, should it go ahead, which it looks as though it will do now, will bring the Enterprise back out of the Expanse and back to Earth initially. From there they'll obviously build into next season's arc. Again, comments made by Berman make it fairly likely that they'll begin to lay the foundations for the eventual founding of the Federation. No mention of the Romulans but they SHOULD be there by all accounts, if they're not then Berman & Braga are admitting that the timeline has irrevocably changed, something I don't think they're prepared to admit 100% just yet.

I've only watched the first part of Monday's double header so far but I really enjoyed it. This season has been so much better. I really hope it gets picked up for another season.

The official decision on season 4 is expected on or around May 20th, however there should be some indication before that, construction of the new sets needed for Season 4 is due to commence on the 12th.

Local affiliates in the States have also been instructed to bill the finale as a "season" finale rather than a "series" finale as well, so looking good for somekind of continuation next year at least.

I wouldn't like to use that as evidence - I've seen several examples quoted of finales promoted as 'Season Finale', which have turned out to be the series finale :)

On it's own you're right, but coupled with the imminent onset of set construction, it looks positive at least ;)

I really don't see them cancelling it.

The only negative spin they could really put around renewal would be to renew it for 13 episodes.

I still think they'll renew it for the 24 myself, if only to ease it into syndication.

JEREMIAH's a classic example.

I saw the Season 2 finale about 2 or 3 months ago, and still nobody knows if that's the final ever episode or not :(
