| 'Doctor Who' story 'Blink' scoops BAFTA Tuesday, May 13 2008, 12:34 BST By Ben Rawson-Jones, Cult Editor Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat has received a BAFTA Craft Award for the acclaimed third season story 'Blink'. The 2007 episode, revolving around sinister statues that can only move when a person closes their eyes, beat off competition from Jimmy McGovern's The Street, Tony Marchant's The Mark of Cain and Heidi Thomas's Cranford. 'Blink', which features David Tennant's Doctor in a minor role only, recently scooped a Welsh BAFTA for scriptwriting and is nominated for a prestigious Hugo Award for best dramatic presentation, short form. Moffat has won this last category, voted for by the members of the World Science Fiction Convention, in both 2006 for 'The Empty Child' and 2007 for 'The Girl In The Fireplace'. Moffat has recently written the screenplay for Steven Spielberg's forthcoming Tintin film. |
