Ned works in a pie store and seems to lead a perfectly normal life. This, however, is far from the truth.Through his touch, Ned can wake people from the dead. He decides to use this ability of his to solve crimes. But this proves complicated when he gives life back to his childhood crush, and decides to let her keep living.

I liked it. :)

<< Ends discussion >>

I thought it was delightful and whimsical, and if the first season was already out on DVD, I`d have rushed to order it. If the series goes downhill, I`ll be really disappointed. :)

little pixie - April 14, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
Erm....

IMDB - episode guide

Looking at the ep for next week, it`s The Fun in Funeral, which is ep 3.

Phillip Culley - April 14, 2008 11:18 PM (GMT)
ITV, in their infinite wisdom, only gave Pushing Daisies an 8-episode slot. For a 9-episode series. Go figure :)

Apparently Episode 2 is the most disposable (plot-wise), so they're skipping it.

And they were doing so well in buying it and showing it Saturday prime time....

prophecy girl - April 15, 2008 09:38 AM (GMT)
i suppose it would have been too complicate for ITV to show two episodes to start with (maybe they weren't sure of the audience) :ermm:

Episode one brought 5.7 million viewers to ITV1 on Saturday night : bbc co uk

BouncyCastle - April 15, 2008 11:36 AM (GMT)
Wanna know the reason why they're dropping episode 2?

So that the series fits in with bloody Euro 08.

:ph43r:

little pixie - April 15, 2008 01:07 PM (GMT)
Oooh, it`s just so complicated. Why didn`t they start a week earlier ?

Perhaps they`ll do a double episode slot. Or show ep 2 on their ITV2 channel. Or just ignore it.

ITV drops 'Pushing Daisies' for football
Tuesday, April 15 2008, 12:19 BST

By Simon Reynolds, Entertainment Reporter

ITV will not screen the second episode of US drama Pushing Daisies because it doesn't have enough room on its schedule.

The show, which stars Lee Pace as a pie-maker who can bring people back to life, debuted to strong ratings on Saturday but ITV has confirmed it only has room to air eight of the nine episodes before the Euro 2008 football tournament starts.

A spokesman for ITV said: "Episode two was the only show we could drop without spoiling the storyline."

The second episode focuses on Pace's character Ned experimenting with his powers and recalling a moment from his childhood when he brought a dead frog back to life.

ITV added that the episode will "be shown at some point because the series will be repeated".
A second series of Pushing Daisies, created by former Heroes producer Bryan Fuller, will start filming later in the year.

Euro 2008 begins on June 7 with ITV and the BBC splitting coverage.

they will probably repeat season one in the autumn, i suppose that mean we won't see season two before mid 2009 :ermm:

little pixie - April 15, 2008 03:37 PM (GMT)
Ooookay, Click here for Amazon UK - if you want to pre-order the first season of PD - it`s on sale on 23rd June ( no info on the US site about the release date in the US ) . :)

Hi Alex how are you?

I enjoyed it as well so am gutted to read the 2nd ep won't be shown. Any idea where I can stream it from?

melian - April 17, 2008 04:52 PM (GMT)
IMO, episode 2 is the weakest of all the episodes, still great but not a patch on some of the others ;)

little pixie - April 22, 2008 03:37 PM (GMT)
Ooops, should really post ep 3 thoughts, since Karen went to the trouble of putting up a thread.

Erm... I liked it.

Not as much as the first ep, but I think that was because it was all bright and new and shiny, and now I`m settling into the series and expecting to be wowed to the same extent. Every week. Or else.

Loved the Prince Charming bit at the end, and the Pooh bit.

So how old is that dog ?

laughitupfuzzball - April 22, 2008 04:43 PM (GMT)
 Liked the herbal medicine sales guy too

The Pooh bear bit was hilarious :lmao: only she could get away with that

"then" digby was 3 years, 2 weeks, 6 days, 5 hours and 9 minutes old

when "now" (episode one) started, it was 19 years, 34 weeks, 1 day and 59 minutes later

so that would make digby 22 years, 37 weeks, 6 hours and 8 minutes old (and counting) :o :lmao:

 @ transcript site

Darris - April 23, 2008 12:11 AM (GMT)
My mum told me about this and said I might like it, she then told me about ITV not showing episode 2, so I downloaded the first and second and gave them both a watch.
I though it was quite a fun and light hearted program to watch. I forgot it was on though and then missed episode 3.

In a strange way it reminds me of Eerie Indiana.

ITV backtracks on Pushing Daisies
ITV has bowed to pressure from viewers and decided to show a "missing" episode of Anna Friel's comedy-drama Pushing Daisies on its website.

The episode was not aired on TV because ITV did not have enough Saturday nights to show the full series before the Euro 2008 football tournament started.

The instalment in question - the second of nine - will be available on ITV's website from Saturday for a week.

This "was in response to fans wanting to see this episode", a spokesman said.

"It's done particularly well with younger audiences and showing it online seemed to make sense," he said, adding that the streaming of previous episodes online had also "done well".

Angry reaction

The show features ex-Brookside actress Friel as the sweetheart of a man who can bring the dead back to life by touching them.

Ned - played by Lee Pace - revived Friel's character, Chuck, in the first episode.

But there are twists, including one that means Ned would kill her - or anyone else he "revives" - for good if he touches them again.
ITV bought all nine episodes, but had only eight Saturday nights in which to screen them before the month-long football coverage, which begins on 7 June.

Some fans reacted angrily when it was announced the entire series would not be broadcast.

However, ITV justified its decision by saying the second episode could be missed without spoiling the overall plot.

It will be made available online at 2200 BST on Saturday, directly after the final episode is screened on ITV1.

Hurray !

ITV has a countdown for the showing of the `bonus` episode HERE. :)

Darris - May 28, 2008 09:31 PM (GMT)
Ok I have net access, but what about those who don't?

I have already downloaded the second episode and put it on a dvd disc so my mum could watch them in order without missing any.

Reminds me of what Lifetime did with Blood Ties - they put the last two episodes on the internet only for the US viewers. Surely they can't be surprised when they get poor viewing figures.

Ditto. We`ve been treated pretty shabbily by ITV methinks. <_<

I vaguely recall something about episode 2 being shown when they eventually repeat the series . :ponder:
