Title: I'm addicted

BouncyCastle - March 17, 2008 04:40 PM (GMT)
I was always under the impression that I "found" SG1 sometime after it had started airing on Channel Four.

I recently bought the S1 DVDs, and to my astonishment, there were only 2 or three episodes that I hadn't seen. :ponder:

I'm now halfway through Season 3, with Season 4 in the post from Play.

Jaffa. Kree!

Jolinar.

Tok'ra.

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!

little pixie - March 17, 2008 09:37 PM (GMT)
I just never got into it.

Recently got into Atlantis - SKY are repeating some eps, so yay.

TV Crazy - March 17, 2008 10:10 PM (GMT)
Wasn't into SG-1 at the beginning, my dad got me to watch a few eps, and then i got into it a bit more. Really got into it end S3 beginning S4, and have enjoyed it ever since. However Sky repeat SG-1 so many times, that some eps get dull after a while, knowing exactly what's going to happen, but the classics are still as great as ever.

Loved Atlantis from the start, at the stage it started SG-1 was going downhill, and Atlantis definately made up for it, and i continued to watch both. Thought S4 of Atlantis would go downhill without certain characters, didn't really like Sam being brought in, but she hardly got involved so it didn't bother me so much. Odd eps of S4 not that great, but on the whole the same standard as before so still continue to enjoy it, especially with eps like Adrift, Lifeline, This Mortal Coil, BAMSR, Midway and The Last Man. Look forward to S5 and am watching the repeats in the meantime.

I only saw a bit of S1 of Atlantis, coz Channel Five decided not to get the rights to the rest, and I don't have Sky.

Another one I'll probably have to get DVDs for.

(Is it wrong to fancy Apophus?   ).

I didn't fancy Apophis, but a lot of people like the bad guys so maybe there's nothing wrong with it.

Would recommend getting Atlantis on DVD, it's just as good as SG-1

BouncyCastle - March 31, 2008 02:36 PM (GMT)
Bluddy Hellfire.

I ordered S5 and S6 of SG1 last week, and S6 has turned up first, so I'll not be able to watch any tonight. :ph43r:

Perhaps I'll start on S3 of Charmed (again), or S1 of Life on Mars, or S2 of Las Vegas.

I can see I'm gonna break another DVD player! :tear:

Indeed! (with apologies to Teal'c)

BouncyCastle - April 7, 2008 01:42 PM (GMT)
Started Season 6 (after sobbing when Daniel "died").

Loved The Other Guys episode. Class references to Star Trek!

Can't remember what episode was called, but Dean Stockwell guested on it, and I couldn't help but think to myself..... "gosh. doesn't Ziggy look old".

:D

Just ordered Seasons 7 and 8. :whistling:

little pixie - April 7, 2008 01:51 PM (GMT)
How many episodes are you watching per day ?

Rats, my delete button has stopped working. If I want to edit anything, I have to highlight it and right-click delete.

BouncyCastle - April 8, 2008 11:34 AM (GMT)
At least 1 disc per day, sometimes more.

little pixie - April 8, 2008 01:28 PM (GMT)
:o

Do you sit there with sandwiches and a thermos full of tea ?

I think it`s the tea breaks which are slowing down my TV watching.

SKY are showing the final ep of Atlantis Season 1, The Siege in a few days, and I think they then go into repeats of S2 which I haven`t seen , so yay.

BouncyCastle - April 8, 2008 03:43 PM (GMT)
I saw most of S1 of Atlantis when it was on Five, but haven't seen any others.

I'm probably going to have to get the DVDs.

I'm enjoying watching some Atlantis S1 yet again, there are some classics in there and it's good to see certain characters again. You definitely need to see seasons 2, 3, and 4 of Atlantis - a lot of episodes are better than SG-1 in my opinion. S3 is briliant, prob my favourite.

I thought i watched a lot of tv - a disc a day, that's a lot, but then some days i probably watch 4 or 5 eps of various shows. Do you not have work at the moment or do you have some way of fitting it in around work?

SG-1 vs. Atlantis, that's a hard one, don't think i can choose. Like Atlantis better now, cos it's still going, but overall i can't choose one, they've both got they're good and not so good qualities.

Also can anyone understand why neither series made it into Empire Online 50 Greatest TV Show of all time . I can't.

That list is rubbish :snooty:

TV Crazy - April 8, 2008 09:43 PM (GMT)
We need to create our own one - which doesn't have The Simpsons come out top.

willowroolz - April 9, 2008 08:22 AM (GMT)
I can tell you right now that none of us would be able to agree about it. With anything as subjective as that it will always be the case.

TV Crazy - April 9, 2008 12:03 PM (GMT)
Can we all agree that the list above is not good, i guess.

I watch them when I get home from work (usually with a gallon of merlot!) and at the weekends.

Oh goddammit.

Play.com only have the Season 10 boxset in Region 1, and I refuse to buy them singly.

Arrrggghhhh.

little pixie - April 11, 2008 10:56 AM (GMT)

Does the region 1 not match your other DVDs ?

Amazon UK have it. :)

BouncyCastle - April 11, 2008 11:54 AM (GMT)
I'm not paying forty six quid for it. Seasons 1-9 were only about sixteen/seventeen quid.

BouncyCastle - April 14, 2008 02:45 PM (GMT)
OK. Here's a question.

In Season 7 (at the end), when O'Neill again downloaded the Ancients into his noggin.

He and Sam were on a ship in the control room, where O'Neill said to Sam that she should take command of the team now, and "I'll make it easier for you. I quit".

Duh.

He quit. They could have had a snog!

willowroolz - April 15, 2008 07:30 AM (GMT)
