Part 2 now available. :)

Enjoyed this more than the first ep, probably because I stopped thinking That doesn`t sound like how I imagined Sam Vimes would sound.

Good bit when he takes the oath.

I'm completely, hopelessly and utterly addicted to Discworld.

I only really discovered them last year.

A couple of years ago, I read my first one (Going Postal) and was somewhat bemused, but some lovely people on the Points of View boards put me right and I was buying 4 books a week from Play.com!

They also sell some of the stories on DVD, in cartoon form.

[sales pitch ends]

Oooh, and I loved the Amazing Maurice one.

Not read the Carpet People one.

I've read one or two of the Tiffany ones. Maurice is very good.

How about the Johnny books?

Never heard of the carpet ones. What's that all about.

According to Amazon, it`s TP`s first book, and according to a reviewer, it`s Lord of the Rings on a Carpet.

Not read any of the Johnny books - any good ?

Anyone read The last hero ?

Or just looked at the pictures ?

Michelle - March 10, 2008 08:58 AM (GMT)
Yep, I've read "The last hero". I think I've read/own pretty much everything TP has written bar the latest discworld that's only in hardback, and for some reason I've not bought/read Wintersmith yet either.

Oh, and I still have to buy Dark side of the sun, but I have read it years ago. I'm also not fussed with the science of discworld books. I got the first one, but never finished it.

Have you read the Unadulterated cat, Sarah? ;)

Do you need to ask ? :ph43r: ;)

So, I`m guessing - like everything TP - I should get The Last Hero. :ponder:

I`ve ordered The Carpet People and the Bromeliad trilogy now from Amazon .

Shall hold off on the Johnny books for now `cos my to-be-read pile is somewhat large. :whistling:

And after watching the Fantasy writers thingy on BBC4, I realise that I`ve never read The Hobbit , just The LOTR, and might have to order that, too. Unless I can find it second hand in town. :ponder:

The pictures in The Last Hero are absolutely superb.

There's 3 or so "Johnny" books. Johnny and the Bomb, Johnny and the Dead, and one more whose title I can't remember.

They're written for children, and set in the 90s.

They did Johnny and the Bomb for the telly. I've got it on DVD!

I've also got the cartoon ones they did on Channel Four on DVD!

"Only you can save mankind" - which is the first one. :)
