Description: US pace

My psychic powers deserted me and I couldn't find an extant thread for this extant show. It's the tv show that refuses to die. Police procedural. Ghosty. Family Drama. Subdued. With touches of comedy. And constant surprise twists.

Ep 4.01 (probably no need for a zero placeholder this season, I think) finally made its appearance. Very good eppy with an amazing climax that takes the oldest cliche in the screen history and with considerable finesse shapes it into something stunning.

Angelica Houston guests and her scenes with Patricia Arquette are prime examples of acting and chemistry.

There`s a S3 type thread HERE in the Drama bit, but I think it probably is a Culty show with its supernatural storyline. :)

Had no idea it was starting again. Hope we get to see it soon.

Jake Weber, who stars as the husband of psychic Allison Dubois (Patricia Arquette) on NBC's Medium, told reporters that the currently airing nine new episodes were not intended to be a complete season, but that creator and executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron was forced to wrap up the story arc because of the ongoing writers' strike.

I must admit to being disappointed more often this season than with the earlier ones. This was a show that seem to pride itself on shunning formulas. Yet, more than once this season, I felt I knew what was going to happen -- and I'm not psychic!

The worse instance was an entire episode that followed deep tracks laid down by countless whodunnits before. The only slightly original element was that Allison was mysteriously struck deaf.

I just saw a two-parter that I mildly enjoyed. The promos showed the wonderful young actress Sarah Drew as a kidnap victim. But little use was made of her. As for formula: how many times of late have you seen two young, female kidnap victims? The second part of the two parter was far better than the first and it was a good showcase for Anjelica Houston.

**** Casting spoiler **** the guest star in next week's show is Patrica Arquette's real-life sister. I'm not as excited as I was seeing Sarah Drew, but unlike Sarah, I think the RA will be given plenty of camera time. ******

Patricia Arquette, who stars as psychic Allison DuBois on NBC's hit series Medium, told SCI FI Wire that she's been extremely pleased with the show's current season, its fourth, but isn't sure if it will return for a fifth year.

"Well, how do I feel like it's going?" Arquette said, paraphrasing a question asked of her during a conference call last week with journalists. "I feel like we've really had a lot of good luck with having Anjelica Huston come in and having Rosanna [Arquette] come in,. … So we've been really lucky in that way, having a lot of great guest stars, and that's been really exciting."

But Arquette added that it's hard for her to assess how a season is going while she's in the midst of it. "Usually, I watch the whole season at the end," she said. "I don't actually watch it every week, because we're usually working when it's on. And then the idea of, you know, making my children watch [and] wait around while I'm watching myself is too strange of an idea for me."

The current season featured Huston as a troubled investigator who comes to Allison's aid while she and her husband, Joe (Jake Weber), are struggling with unemployment and the revelation last season that Allison was working as a psychic for the Phoenix district attorney.

Will the show come back for a fifth year? "I don't know if there'll be a next season," Arquette said. "I know we do have very devoted fans and that we're grateful for that. ... I don't know what'll happen, you know?"

But Arquette said she's willing to return if the show is picked up. "Yeah, I would like to come back," she said.

Patricia Arquette fears that the current fourth season of supernatural drama Medium may be the last.

"I don't know if there'll be a next season," the actress told Sci Fi Wire. "I know we do have very devoted fans and that we're grateful for that... [but] I don't know what'll happen, you know?"

NBC is due to decide the show's fate in early April when the lineup for the latter half of the year is revealed. Arquette added that she "would like to come back" and reprise her role as psychic investigator Allison DuBois.

She also described the current season as "really exciting" due to a "lot of great guest stars", which include Anjelica Huston, Kelly Preston and her own sister Rosanna Arquette.

NBC has handed out renewals to a host of series for the 2008-09 season.

At a scheduling presentation in New York, the broadcaster confirmed that bubble shows Medium, Lipstick Jungle, Law & Order and spinoff Law & Order: SVU would all be returning. They join the previously announced renewals for key shows Heroes, Chuck and Life.

Returning comedies include 30 Rock, My Name Is Earl and The Office, alongside a new Office spinoff on Thursday nights.

Friday Night Lights will be back in February under a co-production deal with DirecTV, which gives the satellite operator the first-run rights to the new season from October.

Bionic Woman joins Las Vegas and Journeyman on the scrapheap, while Scrubs will end its run on NBC but make its long-anticipated move to ABC from the autumn.
