Oookay - I watched the ep on SKY last night and have questions. I`d only seen the first season. :blush:

So... can someone please tell me what happened to Torri Higginson ? The last ep I saw, she was in charge of Atlantis. :blink:

And no Scottish doctor ? And where did Amanda Tapping come from ? :blink: :blink:

In the season 3 finale, Weir got caught in an explosion which left her in a coma at the end of the episode, and a few episodes before Beckett was killed by an explosive tumour.

As to Carter, I can't remember exactly why she went over, but the behind the scenes reason was that they needed someone to replace Weir, and since the SG-1 cast were still under contract for an extra season when it was cancelled they figured they could use one of them (not to mention it would be a familiar face), and chose Tapping :)

So no getting seasons 2 and 3 on dvd for you before watching season 4 :rolleyes: :lol:

I enjoyed season 1 but I didn`t enjoy it that much. :lol:

I watched BSG out of sync and that made sense to me . :shrug:

:lol: I don't think Season 4 has moved on that much other than the cast changes you've mentioned - ooh you won't have seen the lovely Jewel yet :) (Jewel Staite) as the new Doctor.

They have found lots more ZPMs and for some reason or other never been able to take or use them :rolleyes: They have a slightly better understanding of Ancient technology but not much and have flown about a bit (Atlantis itself) :o :)

Erm, I didn`t enjoy it enough to join a rental thingy and get the discs. :lol:

And looking at the Amazon DVD rental stuff a moment ago, I can buy 1 DVD or rent 2 at the same price ( a lot of my recent buys have been for £3 or £4 ). :blink:

What I heard was that at the end of Season 9 they were all contracted for 2 further seasons, and because of this it was the first time TPTB weren't assuming they were working on the last season (as they had done for the past few years).

Which is probably why they were able to get everyone for the two movies since they were still contracted...

Still, makes you wonder what Tapping's going to do next year when she's no longer contracted to the SG franchise. I can't really see her staying on aboard Atlantis.

I enjoyed Ark of Truth, and with RDA back for Continuum I suspect I'll probably like that as well. Hopefully they'll keep the movies going for a few years yet.

Can't see Amanda Tapping staying on next year either, as good a character as she is, she's going to ruin Sam, not to mention you think she would have had enough after 11 years playing the same character. I much preferred her as a scientist and member of SG-1, rather than the leader of Atlantis, who is as smart as McKay, maybe smarter, but isn't really involved in the science.

That really bugs me too, why doesn't she ever go to the lab to help out at least.

I know, she can see McKay struggling to solve a problem, so the first thought is to get a wraith to help him out. Ok i know they've needed wraith help, but she should still have had an input, she's just as smart science wise as he is, and i miss her really hard to follow scientific explanations, she's not the same character anymore, just doing what Weir did, when there are better uses for her talents elsewhere.

You can see i wasn't that thrilled about her taking Weirs place from the start.

Fair play though, the end of 4x11 makes it look like Torri Higginson's got a much more interesting part this season! :thumbsup:
