Title: 2.09
Description: Cautionary Tales
TV Yank - November 20, 2007 07:06 AM (GMT)
That's better. Though far from perfect.
Kirsten Bell was at the center of the excitement in this episode but it really was due to Jack Coleman, once again, as the rampaging Noah Bennet out to protect his daughter. The screen seems to explode when this guy goes into action.
It's too bad we've seen his confrontations with Claire before. Dialog which starts with Dad saying "You will..." goes nowhere fast.
And while Kring seems to have nixed the possibilities of romance in this series, I think the problem was with the writers (ironically, now on strike for better pay) not with the notion. I thought the Claire/West pairing had potential to bring to the storyline. (But not so Hiro's and Peter's.)
Nice to see Kristen with lotsa of skin showing. And, she had plenty to do this time. Including uttering a funny line when she saw the bandaged and bruised Mohinder: "What's your superpower. Punching bag?" (Give that writer a raise.) I like her attitude. However, that's about all her role has for the talented actress to grasp onto.
I'm even more happy to see Molly and Matt again. And Matt's confrontation with Mrs Petrelli was terrific. Altho I thought his exchange with his police superior as even better: "These guys are involved in some organization. Like from back in the 70s" "Like a disco?" :D Maybe you have to remember the 70s to really appreciate that.
But, oh, Hiro. Hiro. Hiro. :tear: What happened to the funnest character. Did the writers/producers think that he looked better in angst?
What are we going to do about the pathetic Mohinder? Tim Kring seems to be listening to us. What shall we tell him?
And, were there two less surprising surprises?

I loved this episode
I'm now extremely worried about a number of characters, what will Matt do with his new found powers? He seems to be taking a dark path :fear:
Where is Noah? Has he been resurrected and let go or is he locked up in some prison?
Mohinder. Will he ever forgive hmself for what he did? To be honest, does he deserve forgiveness?
Hiro. What will he do now he knows that Adam is behind his fathers death. He cannot help but blame himself :tear:

Resurrected and brainwashed maybe - although lets hope it doesn't work. I was hoping that maybe Clare could save him
I think Mohinder may go down a dark path now, due to disgust with himself  how could he murder a man supposed to be a friend in front of his child :ermm:
I guessed it was Adam when we saw the replay at the start, it's the only thing that made sense - I'm going to have to start rewatching earlier eps  to get the clues.
Kirsten Bell was great  also very funny when Noah put her in the tin bath.
Perhaps she won't be quite so willing to do as her dad says ...

She certainly has a few things to think about now
She didn't look best pleased with daddy dearest, did she
Yay to hero West though   He really came through for Noah and Claire :D

By far the best ep. of the season, it's a damn shame that now it's almost over.
I gotta disagree with you Yank on the Hiro front I think what he's going through all lends itself to becoming a true hero. You have your heart break and and now it seems he also is going to learn about revenge or forgiveness depending on which way he goes. I would bet on forgiveness myself, I think that's part of what will make him a fine Hero one day.
At first I didn't really care for the Kirsten Bell story but now I'm a little interested to see where it will go when she starts asking questions.
I do very much agree with you Yank on the point about Claires father his story has gotten better and better. And I hope it continues.

a great episode
claire and her father ........... they got the best story, imo, always great to have them together
mohinder, so very wrong of him, i guess the company is not a good place for him
hiro plot, second time that he learn that no he can't change the past because his power doesn't make him a god, he seem to have lost the fun
matt learning a little more about his power, good thing/bad thing, we will know soon enough

Wow that was a pretty good episode - I'm a little in shock. ;)
Even more shocking was Mohinder actually doing something quite interesting. :o
Noah & Claire has always been amongst the more interesting storylines and this week it really went up a notch even if him being brought back at the end was totally predictable.
Even more predictable was that Adam killed Hiro's father although as he was about to see his face I was thinking let it be Peter let it Peter which would of been a great twist.
Kirsten Bell was great :) and hopefully we might be about to see a few more layers to her character now she knows what her father did to her. :ponder:

I was relieved that Noah was resurrected ; I think he`s the best actor in the show. :)
Other than Veronica and Sark , I`m not interested in any of the newbies. I don`t know why they even cast Flying Boy ( looks ? ) because some of his line readings are so bad I laugh at them. :ph43r:
Hee to Kristen Bell in the tin bath.
Nice episode overall ; I liked how Hiro and his Father`s storyline about not changing fate got mirrored by Noah/Clare. I thought he wasn`t going to get shot by Mohinder and then it all turned around at the end. :)

I always call him Sark as well and have to try hard to remember what his proper name is. Only just stopped calling Matt Weiss. :toomuchtv:
Never find myself calling Peter Jess though. ;)

It took me ages to work out who `Noah` was - I kept thinking of him as that one off Dynasty. :ph43r:
