Title: What quote comes to mind?

LoobiLou - May 4, 2004 07:39 PM (GMT)
What’s the first quote that comes to mind when someone says to you "Angel"?

Mines of Holland saying; “Healthy attachments Lindsey

Crichton Kicks - May 4, 2004 07:42 PM (GMT)
I have two.

The first is the Spike commentary from the rooftops in one of the early season one episodes.

The other, is from Lindsey;

"Well boohoo, let me wipe away the tears with my plastic! hand !!"

Great stuff :)

Numfar, do the dance of joy

Crichton Kicks - May 4, 2004 11:20 PM (GMT)
Actually, it's not so much a quote as an image.

Mention Angel, cue mental flashback of the Angel's spanner dance :D

Oh no, that's the She episode

Crichton Kicks - May 4, 2004 11:42 PM (GMT)
Didn't like the episode, but the dancing, c'mon, it made up for that !! :D Spanner dance !! :D

I'll give you that. it's right up with the Buffy credits for the Puppet Show

Crichton Kicks - May 4, 2004 11:49 PM (GMT)
LOL, that's true, very true :)

Poor ol' Eric, one night he has an early one and the Boards go nuts, a hive of activity. That'll teach him :D

Persephone - May 4, 2004 11:53 PM (GMT)
i'm sure we'll make up for it another time, we've still got to get through the Angel finale

Crichton Kicks - May 4, 2004 11:57 PM (GMT)
Ah, the self-support group :)

I've checked out fo the series for now, saw the beginning of season 5, but I'll hold off on the rest until I see where the franchise is going next year. Hopefully the telemovies will pan out. If not the six, then some at least.

Five years ain't a bad run, but when you look at some of the rubbish, <cough> Charmed <cough> that gets renewed regardless of quality then it's a little galling to say the least :(

Persephone - May 5, 2004 12:02 AM (GMT)
i'm glad I'm not the only one not really appreciating Charmed.
i don't think the franchise is going anywhere, and the telemovies, bones thrown by the network, I don't see Joss doing them somehow, the main writers seem to have other work, and I've heard a rumour that DB might be taking over Luke Perry's role in When Harry Met Sally.

Crichton Kicks - May 5, 2004 12:09 AM (GMT)
Charmed does nothing for me at all I'm afraid. The other half likes it, but it's so lightweight, it's a (much) poorer version of Buffy as far as I can see.

I think Joss may be inclined to give the movies a go next year. Just to see how the situation develops. If the movies proved successful who knows where it could go the year after that. I hope they do the movies anyway, at least a few of them.

DB's also touted for Serenity isn't he ?? I know Jeff Bell's gone across to Alias for the next few years.

Persephone - May 5, 2004 12:13 AM (GMT)
I'm not ready to give up on the B/A world yet, but TVm's kinda strike fear into me. I can see Joss going to the big screen with maybe Buffy, but not sure with Angel, I don't know whether it's as marketable.

My brother watches Charmed, he think's Angel is too lightweight, go figure <_<

Crichton Kicks - May 5, 2004 12:16 AM (GMT)
You're kidding ?? Has he seen it ??

Angel's about as dark as the genre goes, surely.

Charmed basically equates to "lets make the girlies look pretty in tight clothes, oh and how can we work magic into this episode ?" It's poor by any standards.

There's always a certain stigma attached to TV Movies, but for now it's better than nothing IMO. Regarding a bigscreen movie, I'd imagine if it were to go to the bigscreen then it would have both Buffy and Angel featured to some extent. Both are better together than separate.

Persephone - May 5, 2004 12:20 AM (GMT)
I think he has issues. His last girlfriend was hugely into both Buffy and Angel, I think he's scarred for life, can't bring himself to watch :(

He likes Arnie films, what can i say, and Robbie Williams, nuff said. It' so hard being the only cool sibling

Crichton Kicks - May 5, 2004 12:22 AM (GMT)
<Gasp !!> What are you saying ?? What's wrong with the Robster ?? one of Stoke's finest ?? <Gasp !!> :D :D :D

Arnie films ?? Oh no. Please tell me it's not Jingle All The Way and Junior ;)

Persephone - May 5, 2004 12:29 AM (GMT)
I saw him at Glastonbury in 97, it was entertaining, as a novelty act, apart from that, he does nothing for me

We have Clint Mansell
Actually that's not fair, apart from the fact he's a massive Wolves fan, works with Trent reznor, I'm sure he won an Emmy for a soundtrack, Requiem for a Dream or the Hole

Crichton Kicks - May 5, 2004 12:32 AM (GMT)
Clint Mansell ?? Ah, right....erm....who is he ?? ;)

Robbie's class, or more aptly, was, now he seems to have slipped in lazy mode and developed a second chin and an extensive gut :(

His swing performance at the Albert Hall was brilliant.

Persephone - May 5, 2004 12:36 AM (GMT)
In case you were being sarky Pop Will eat Itself , they were big in Dudley ;)
At least he's not known as the overweight dancer from Take That

Crichton Kicks - May 5, 2004 12:39 AM (GMT)
Big in Dudley ?? They only had Lennie Henry to compete with didn't they ?? :P

Overweight dancer from Take That ?? Ouch ;) I thought he was the one member of Take That not in the Dole ;)

Persephone - May 5, 2004 12:43 AM (GMT)
You're forgetting the very lovely Noddy Holder :D

I'm sorry Val, i'm a lightweight, have to go to sleep, gotta daughter to take to school in the morning, night

Crichton Kicks - May 5, 2004 12:44 AM (GMT)

Holland begging Angel to save his lot from Darla and Dru and Angel closing the doors, saying "And yet somehow I can't seem to care". That was one of the most chilling moments in the whole series.

I love this whole exchange between Angel and Connor in the season 4 opener Deep Down, but this part is especially beautiful.......

Angel:"Nothing in the world is the way it aught to be. It's harsh. And cruel. That's why there's us. Champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done, suffered, or even if we make a difference, we live as though the world were as it should be. To show it what it can be. You're not apart of that yet. I hope you will be, I love you Connor. Now get out of my house."

Fred: "Can I say something about destiny?- Screw destiny! If this evil thing comes we'll fight it, and we'll keep fighting it until we whoop it. 'cause destiny is just another word for inevitable and nothing's inevitable as long as you stand up, look it in the eye, and say 'your evitable!' - Well, you- you catch my drift.

Doyle: "The good fight, yeah? - You never know until you've been tested. - I get that now." ....
... Is that it? Am I done?"

That's always one of the first quotes that pops into my head when someone says Angel.

prophecy girl - February 6, 2005 07:14 PM (GMT)
well doyle last word (on camera) is that it? am i done? (waaahhhh :( come to mind

after that, i would be a few quotes from the cordie/wesley argue in season one

"I am my thoughts" - February 6, 2005 11:10 PM (GMT)
ANGELUS - 'The first woman you boned is the closest thing you've ever had to a mother. Doin' your mom, and trying to kill you dad? There should be a play!'

Soulless

Now if only Connor had done what Oedipus had did at this moment of realization... <_<

And how could we forget this little gem from the beginning of Fredless

Fred: So - now that she's alive again, are they gonna get back together? Angel and that girl with the goofy name?
Wes: Well - Fred - that's a difficult question. I think it's fair to say - no. Not a chance, never, no way, not in a million years, and also 'nuh-uh.
Fred: But you said he loved her. And of course she's gonna love him back, because he's so strong and handsome and he really listens when you talk. I-I mean, if you go for that sort of thing, why wouldn't it w**k?
Cordy: Let me break it down for you, Fred.

Cordy steps away from the reception counter and pretends to be Buffy.

Cordy: Oh - Angel! I know that I'm a Slayer and you a vampire - and it would be impossible for us to be together - but!
Wes: But!

Cordy turns to look at him. Wes pulls his glasses off and lays them to the side.

Wes: My gypsy curse sometimes prevent me from seeing the truth. Oh, Buffy!
Cordy: Yes, Angel?
Wes: Oh, I love you so much I almost forgot to brood!
Cordy: And just because I sent you to hell that one time doesn't mean that we can't just be friends.

Wes grabs a hold of Cordy's wrist.

Cordy: Oh!
Wes: Or possibly more.
Cordy: Gasp! No! We mustn't.

Wes pulls Cordy close.

Wes: Kiss me.
Cordy Bite me!

Wes bends Cordy back over his arm and pretends to sink his fangs into her neck.

Angel: How about you both bite me.
