Title: Journeyman Skyone Pace
buffy_fan1 - November 10, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
I had a look around and couldn't see Journeyman thread so I thought I would start one. I said Sky One pace as I didn't if other people had been downloading it etc.
So what did everyone else think? My first thought was he travels back in time in order to save the lives of strangers I have two words for you Tru Calling which was much better and tried to come up with a original angle on the time traveller. If the lovely Eliza Dushku couldn't get two full seasons I don't see how this will last. Back to the the Future also came to mind as Dan has avoid his "other self". I been really negative about it so far I didn't start just to have a go it as I'm fan of this time travelling genre so I hope it does try and be more make own identity.

I loved this from the get go  Kevin McKidd is great in it and I'm so happy he's finally got his big shot cos he's a great actor, well I think so anyway but I may be biased cos I think he's lovely
It's interesting because, as well as the individual storylines of each episode, there is obviously something much greater at work as well with Livia being alive and "one of them" Can't wait to find out more
Loved the little titbits like when he was being chased by the beat policeman in the past, in the last episode, it was actually his brother when he was younger

Oooh, loving this too !
After 2 eps, I`d be happy to get the DVDs if it suddenly vanished from the programming. :)
I like that the wife knows what`s happening, rather than drawing it all out. :ponder:
Hope they can keep up the standard. :D
Outta Sight - November 22, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
That's my hope too  I think there's a lot of scope for individual storylines so as long as they know where they're going with the bigger picture, hopefully it'll continue to stay good :)

Journeyman To End?
Kevin Falls, creator of NBC's time-traveling series Journeyman, told the Premium Hollywood Web site that it's possible the freshman show will end with episode 12, the last one produced, given the show's low ratings and the ongoing writers' strike.
"Episode 12 is the end of our order," Falls told the site. "And let's not kid ourselves. It's a longshot that we would get a back nine, given the strike and our questionable numbers." Falls referred to the additional nine episodes NBC would have to order to constitute a full season.
Falls added that episode 12 is written in such a way that it could constitute an end to the series should it be canceled. "It wouldn't answer every question, but it would give you a lot to chew on," he said. "We would give you some answers, and we'd withhold others."
Should the show return for a second season, he said, "we didn't want to turn over every card. But I think people will find it satisfying, and it's really good."
In the upcomign 12th episode, Dan (Kevin McKidd) encounters another time traveler. "And you'll get some of the answers to what goes on," Falls said. |

That's if it even gets that far - it looks like NBC have followed up on their threat and so tonight's episode (I think it's episode 10) appears to be the last one - certainly next week they've got something else in the Journeyman slot.

Probably because it's not the next Heroes and not getting fantastic ratings.
Actually, I've just checked ahead, and it looks like it's just pulled for next week (they have a 2-part Life on Monday and Wednesday), and episode 11 is supposed to be broadcast the following week. However, it's entirely possible NBC will pull it if tonight's episode doesn't get the ratings....
To be honest if they do pull it they will be making a mistake - I could understand if there were plenty of shows to replace it, but given the strike shouldn't they want as much new programming as they can get?
laughitupfuzzball - November 26, 2007 07:04 PM (GMT)
I get absolutely sick of it, there won't be any decent drama left :(
I only started watching due to the writers strike as I was expecting yet another Quantum Leap but there is real feeling behind it, great acting, stories, consequences. Shows used to have time to build audiences, you don't get many huge shows overnight
<_<
I liked the Dresden Files too, and The Inside, and V Mars, and Carnivale :tear:
Phillip Culley - November 26, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
What makes me sad is that we won't get another show with as much planning as something like Babylon 5 or Farscape - had either of them begun broadcast this season instead of when they did they would have axed it because of poor ratings...

Hoorah!
NBC gave in and are showing Episode 12 on December 17th and Episode 13 on December 19th :)

 it is the reason I started watching it  shame he's only in one episode :D
Are you still watching Charlie Jade?
Outta Sight - December 10, 2007 07:21 PM (GMT)
Bugger! I'm really enjoying this and saw real potential for a good few seasons at least :( Plus, as another brit actor in America, I was really happy that Kevin McKidd may be finally making his mark <_<
There must be a real distant between the US and the UK viewing public cos so many shows that are loved over here are cancelled so quickly in the US, where they're made.
It's a shame that we have to import the shows and have no control over the viewing figures and so we miss out whilst our own tv shows, for the most part, revolve around re-locating housebuyers, watching complete strangers bitch at each other or play lame ass game shows :ermm:
I really thought Journeyman might last the course but I guess the American public have spoken

I`m one ep behind, but still loving this show.
I`m intrigued by the physicist who knew Thingie`s father and can contact him in other timelines. :ponder:

NBC let the Dec. 11 deadline pass for it to pick up additional episodes of its low-rated time-travel series Journeyman, in effect canceling the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The network let its option lapse on the 20th Century Fox TV-produced series, which starred Kevin McKidd as a San Francisco journalist who finds himself unstuck in time. The show posted its lowest rating among adults 18-49 on Dec. 10 when an episode aired without its usual Heroes lead-in.
Journeyman was able to complete production on its 13-episode order, despite the writers' strike. The remaining two original segments will air as scheduled in coming weeks.
Still in limbo is NBC freshman SF series Bionic Woman, which has been sliding in the ratings since its premiere. |

Not exactly a great surprise, but disappointing none the less.
At least there's a resolution of sorts apparently provided in the final episode of the run.
Bionic Woman is surely dead as well, its numbers, towards the end were absolutely awful.

Fans of NBC's struggling time-travel series Journeyman are taking a page from the successful campaign to save CBS' Jericho, but with a different food item: Rice-A-Roni.
Fans are being asked to send boxes of the rice-and-vermicelli mix to NBC executives and NBC Universal president Jeff Zucker in an effort to save the show, which has not received a second-season pickup and has ceased production now that its initial order of 13 episodes has been completed.
Why Rice-A-Roni? It's advertised as "the San Francisco treat," and Journeyman is set in that Bay Area metropolis. Fans claim that more than 1,750 boxes have been shipped already.
The campaign mimics earlier mass-mailing efforts. Fans of The WB's Roswell sent small bottles of Tabasco sauce (a staple of the show's alien characters) to the network, and Jericho fans shipped tons of peanuts to CBS (an allusion to a line in the first-season finale). Both campaigns succeeded in keeping the shows on the air. CBS ordered a seven-episode second season of Jericho after initially canceling it late last year. They begin airing later this month. |

finally got to watch the pilot (a bit late now that it is cancelled <_< ) and it was quite good :) . a very interesting episode that show potential. a way to look at different parts of a person's life but the "events" is short enough to not feel trapped back in time, i just wonder what would have happened if dan had failed to save the life of the kid :ponder:
