About Face

The BAU travels to Dallas to assist in the search for a murderer who scares his victims with "Missing" flyers that display the soon-to-be victims' photos. Also, SSA David Rossi returns to the BAU from retirement.

Discuss. :)

Mantegna's back ... and boy am I disappointed.

The large part of the problem is the writing. They made him a man with a secret agenda. In fact, he's very secretive. Because he's an independent. A former BAU solo agent trying to fit into the new teamwork BAU. But, I think it would have been illuminated better as a story told from his point-of-view story rather than the usual objective one.

A relatively tensionless story.

That's an interesting take, after starting him back into the BAU that way you perhaps really gain some interesting insights into his character instead of just feeling like, "Oh he's got some axe to grind wow, didn't see that coming..." They sort of set it up to get rid of him easily it seems to me.

I was expecting more from Joe. Or rather Rossi. :ponder:

So I wasn't the only one feeling underwhelmed then?

It all seemed a little forced to me, that the writers had been told to make the new guy as jarring to the team dynamic as possible, to make him almost the anti-Gideon.

Well it worked. People LIKED Gideon.
