Title: 2.05
Description: Fight or Flight

A pretty good episode. Some exciting revelations, some momentum established.

I think it testifies to the charisma of the young Kirsten Bell that I nearly cheered when she first appeared on screen -- and I wasn't a fan of V.MARS. She didn't have much to do but her presence was strong and it resonated when she wasn't on screen.

Plus, it'll help the series so much if they can get Peter out of that dreary pub. I don't care how many people she has to kill.

Another young lady has livened the show, too. Dana Davis as Micah's cousin Monica (there must be a term for 'sounds too much alike'). Her story illustrates what I think the show should be. We watch Monica discovering her powers and in the process she's doing some fun and superheroic things. But now that Suresh has found her, I think that story is going to dim.

At least Matt and Nathan's story took flight, metaphorically speaking.

Oh, and who was Elle (Kristen Bell) phoning? She called him "Dad" didn't she? Now who could that be. The Haitian? Hiro? Ando? Suresh? Micah? Nathan and Matt were having fun in Philadelphia. Who's left? :ponder:

You may have noticed the zoom and pan shots while Micah played the piano. In case you didn't know it, Noah Gray-Cabey is a child prodigy of the keyboard. He's a darn good actor, too.

As is Adair Tishler who plays Molly -- who's been comatose most of the time.

Episode Five, surely? :)

Still, the series is getting back on track - the lack of the season's poorer storylines has helped an awful lot.

And it was very evil to fake a cliffhanger for Hiro and Kensei's story as well :)

My boo-boo. I's Episode 2.05. Can someone correct the title? Pleeze.

There must be an episode that we didn't discuss. :ponder:

I love KB

Could Elle's dad be Bob perhaps? I really can't imagine who it can be, that is if we have already met him.

How do you think Mohinder found out about Monica? Did Micah call him? It seems strange that he is willing to go all that way, away from Molly :ermm:

Glad Matt and Nathan managed to snap out of their own private hell. Just what was Nathans all about? He helped save the world, what does he have to feel bad about? There must be more to that story.

Didn't Mohinder get an assignment from the Company? I think they kept the nature of the assignment from the viewer, so I assume it involved Monica.

As for Nathan -- I think the only way he could have survived the explosion without an additional power or help, is that he let go of Peter (maybe Peter forced him to let go) and got a distance away before the explosion. Unaware of Peter's fate, he's suffering. The vision of himself with ghastly burns could be what actually happened to him and he has been cured. Or he hasn't been cured and some sort of illusion is disguising me. Or it represents what should have happened to him in his guilt-ridden mind. :ponder:

I thought that with Bob giving Mohinder the tazor that Niki/Jessica was his intended patient

You may be on to something with the Nathan Theory, about the burns being due to the guilt he feels over Peter's 'death'

I agree this felt a lot more like the show I came to love last season, I hope it continues.

Yes, and I also think she shows a good counter point to some of the sentiments that I've read about these people living their super hero lives out in the open, She's just a scared girl when she took down that robber and it's pretty easy to understand why she wouldn't want to Id. the guy, just because you took down some baddie once doesn't mean it will always be that easy. I'm also more and more disappointed with the Suresh story, what is he doing? Half of the story line from the finale last season involved getting her away from the company, and he just takes her back? I thought that was pretty bush league, when is he going to listen to some one other than the people who we've all been led to believe is the enemy? i.e. HRG.

Yeah, I'm sure at some point we're going to get the whole story behind what happened it should be interesting to see how they weave it in there. Right now the only one that seems to know anything is Elle, more will be revealed I'm sure.

Also I'm pretty bummed to see Nikki/Jessica with the company I thought see had really made some peace with herself at the end of last season. And instead of expanding on that a little bit they've decided to basically cut her almost entirely out of the show, she was the closest thing to an actual super hero IMO, she had slayer type strength it looked to me, probably why I really liked her character so much. And now it appears she's trying to be cured which if that happens she may not even be in the show any more. And then I suppose that just means more wonder twins, ack!
