Title: Suggestions...

Ok, I'm starting this here not as any kind of critique or anything just a few friendly suggestions...
First, is it possible to add a quick reply option right below the last post, A lot of forums I frequent have this and I use it a lot. It's also a nice feature for those that don't have speedy connections.
Second, how about a multi quote button?

^^ Don't know how viable that is on invision, but leave it with me, I'll have a look into it :)

I've added the 'quick reply' function into all of the forums. You can access this at the bottom of any post via the relevant button.
Unfortunately thus far I've had no success in trying to hard code it so that the quick reply text box always remains open (without having to access it via the button). I'll have another go tomorrow. At the bare minimum, it opens as part of the page hence it doesn't have to reload the page, so if you're on a slower connection you should still find that it's quicker.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'multi quote'?

Multi quote would be quoting from more than one post presumably

Well that's pretty much what I thought, but I can't remember seeing that anywhere, other than doing it how we'd do it now, ie. use the 'quote' button to quote an original post, and then further using the quote command buttons at the top of the reply page to quote other posts as necessary.
Thinking about it, I'm wondering whether I can add a 'quote' button to the quick reply text box. If that's possible then you can just click the button, copy the relevant text and drop it into the quick reply box, repeating the action for any and all quotes you want to make.
I'll do a bit more digging around this later on.

Ooh, I like the quick reply thing. :)
I don't have a problem with the speed of getting to the normal reply page, but what with being at work it's a bit 'obvious' what I'm doing what with all those smilies on show, and this is a bit more of a subtle way of posting. ;)

Very cool, Thanks! It's amazing how often I use the quick reply option. And clicking a button to get it to pop open is common on a lot of otther boards as well.
The multi quote is really only nice when you're replying to several posts at a time. The way it works on some other boards is as you're scrolling down reading posts, you hit the multi quote tab on 2 or 3 posts and then when you get to the bottom you hit post reply and then all the posts you want to resond to are there. It's not really that important. I can go about it the standard way. This works fine.

Well the multi quote sounds interesting. Can't say as I've ever come across that kind of thing before amazingly. Can you remember if you've seen it in place on any invision boards? I had a cursory scan last night but couldn't find anything.

I've not seen it on any Invision boards, however the Outpost Gallifrey message boards use it - unfortunately you need to register to view it.

Can't be sure if I have or not. I go to a lot of boards but I don't always pay attention to what type they are. And really the more I think about it it's not that important because on the main quote page it looks like about 10 or 12 of the previous posts are listed so its not that hard to form my own multi quotes.
