"Do you know when the Battlestar Galactica TV/DVD movie Razor will be broadcast in the UK? I've read that Sky One do not have the broadcast rights and it will be shown on Virgin 1 instead. Any truth in this?"

Neil: Filthy lies! Razor will air on Sky One before the year is out.

What exactly is Razor ? Is it some stand alone or spin-off ?

Oops, I assumed people knew about it. Sorry.

On the eve of a devastating Cylon attack, officer Kendra Shaw reports for duty on the battlestar Pegasus. When mankind's future is forever changed on that fateful day, Kendra is reshaped into a "razor"÷a tool of war÷under the ruthless guidance of her commander, Admiral Cain. Battlestar Galactica: Razor tells the untold story of Pegasus and provides chilling clues to the fate of humanity as the final chapters of the Battlestar Galactica story unfold.

Yep, it`s a stand-alone thingy which will air before the start of the fourth season.

the "minisodes" are apparently on the r1 not the R2 acording to BBFC.

Semi-related but "the return of Starbuck" (1980)is going to be released in the near future on ~R2

Crichton Kicks - December 20, 2007 10:41 AM (GMT)
Not too bothered about the 'minisodes', although it would have been nice to have them.

Given that the R2 is, at least, the extended cut, I'll probably stick with that I think.

Isn't the whole of Galactica 1980 getting a release in R2? I would have thought it obvious since it's coming out in R1...

If the minisodes are anything like the S3 webisodes we won't be missing much anyway.

Just a  heads up, there are a total of 7 flashback webisodes.  All but the first two and the last one made it into the extewnded cut of the feature.  So webisodes 3,4,5,6 made it into the film.  And the ones left out don't really contribute to the story at all, but the ones included do show quite a bit of relevant stuff.

I had assumed that 1980 was already out on region 2, I have absolutely no idea one way or the other. The reason that episode stuck out was because when watching the original BSG/BSG 1980 on Bravo that episode was missing. I assumed rightly or wrongly that "to return of Starbuck" was being released singly but I have no information to back up my thoughts.

As for the minisodes from BSG razor I was quite disappointed to see that most of them made it into the extended cut. I thought they were going to be a separate entity in addition to whatever was going to be in the extended cut. After watching Razor I was expecting to watch roughly half an episode of new material (since I didn't see it on the Web). Ah well.

^^ Can't offhand remember which version we got of Unfinished Business on Region 2.

willowroolz - January 22, 2008 12:20 PM (GMT)
Finished season 3, rewatched all the Pegasus episodes from season 2 and finally watched the extended version of Razor last night

I thought season 3 took an alarming dip in quality towards the end, which was disappointing considering how well it started, but this has reawakened my enthusiasm for the series. Having rewatched all the Pegasus story I thought it worked just about perfectly. The hints about Kara's "destiny" were quite alarming, too :fear:

My only complaint is that Michelle Forbes wasn't in it enough.

Loved the sneak peeks at season 4. Will probably watch the webisodes (which are on the R2 dvd) tonight :)

goth willow fan - January 22, 2008 01:16 PM (GMT)
You've already seen all but 3 of them ;)

Crichton Kicks - January 22, 2008 06:08 PM (GMT)
Although I enjoyed the last couple of episodes, there were a few poor episodes towards the end of the season (three). Given that, I was very surprised when I watched Razor at just how much I still love the show. Stephanie Jacobsen was absolutely brilliant as Kendra, I was gutted that they killed her off :(
