Good news,
Full season order commissioned;

A network spokesperson confirms that the increasingly addictive Josh Schwartz confection has been greenlit for a full, 22-episode season.
Although its ratings have been only so-so, GG has seen substantial gains once DVR usage is factored in. And buoyed by strong word-of-mouth, the show's two most recent episodes rank among the top 5 downloaded shows on iTunes. Oh, look — a quote from CW head Dawn Ostroff!
"People everywhere are talking about Gossip Girl and we believe this show will continue to build audience as it builds buzz. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have created an incredibly heightened-reality world that viewers are locking into while advertisers, affiliates and press have also embraced the show. The series has earned its early pick-up and we look forward to a long run on The CW." |

From the the promos I've seen of this show, James, I've never figured out what it's about. All that was shown were a lot of glamourous young people with lotsa attitude. I think it's outside of my caste. ;)

It's a guilty pleasure for me John. I know I really shouldn't, and it doesn't reflect well on me, and it makes very little logical sense, even to me, but I've always had a weakness for the Dawson's Creeks and The OCs of this (televisual) world! :lol:
Gossip Girl is (semi) created by Josh Schwartz, one of the people behind The OC, and is narrated by Veronica Mars herself, Kristen Bell. As far as plot goes, think the Teenage/Young Adult scene from The OC, transfer it to New York, and you've pretty much got it.
Looks to me like they've given the full season order before the latest numbers have come out. They appear to be on the slide, although, to be fair, The CW across the board isn't exactly setting the world alight this season, so perhaps it's the best of a bad lot (ratings wise).

Is anyone watching this? I've already got my mum and a couple of my friends watching, soon they will be hooked :shifty:

I`m hooked already. :ph43r: :ph43r:
I`ve seen the first couple of eps and really enjoyed it, in a completetly vacuous sort of way. It reminds me a lot of that SMG film Cruel Intentions.

i watched the first episode, it was ok, still it's kind of hard to believe serena was the "it girl" before leaving (apart for that flashback but it was probably chuck version of what he saw :unsure: )

Me too!
Claire, you need to keep watching and suspend lots of disbelief :lol:
I couldn't believe I had gotten hooked to a program I initially watched out of interest because Kristen Bell was the voice of Gossp Girl :blush:
