In Birth and Death

With Gideon missing, and Hotch and Prentiss off the team, the BAU investigates one of its most difficult cases yet as the remaining agents track a serial killer in Milwaukee who abducts women in public places by using his son as bait.

Discuss. :)

Fortunately, I'd been kept informed by posters to this and THE DRAMA BOARDS of the behind-the-scenes events because I missed the first episode of this season. Evidently major things had taken place to the BAU personnel and I didn't have to wonder about Gideon's absence (Mandy).

There was too much inner-circle conflict in this storyline for my taste but the case is a good example of a didactic storyline because it shows us (and especially women) another trick that might be used to lure women to their deaths.

Eddie Cibrian is pretty good as the unsub.

I`d agree, I though Eddie Cibrian was good in a role which I`d imagine he doesn`t get the chance to do much, since he`s generally the hero type. :)

A nice wrap up to Gideon`s storyline, though I did wonder if he didn`t want to appear in any scenes with the rest of the cast, and that`s why there was no interaction. I got the feeling that the scenes in the cabin at the end with Spencer were held over from the previous week. :ponder:

I hadn`t realised that it was Meredith Monroe from Dawson`s Creek in the role of Mrs Hotch; she looks, erm, more mature. Though looking at her IMDB resume, it turns out she was 30 or so when she started playing a high school student.
