Alone

With his diagnostic team gone, House tries to diagnose a young woman who survived an office building collapse. With the condition getting worse, Cuddy puts pressure on House to hire a new team, but instead attempts a differential diagnosis with help from the janitor.

Discuss. :)

Typically good HOUSE -- except none of his dispersed team appears altho they're mentioned excessively. I didn't think I'd miss them as much as I did -- altho the janitor did make a good substitute. :lmao:

I like big surprises and the resolution to this case was certainly a big one even if the writing weakened the impact.

E!News had a bit on House today ( 7pm repeat on SKY 152 ) - you got to see Jennifer Morrison`s real hair colour ! :o

Really enjoyed this opening to the season.

With the absence of House's team, both Cuddy and Wilson got more exposure than they would ordinarily have afforded.

I was quite surprised that this episode didn't feature any of Foreman, Chase or Cameron, but I have to say, I didn't miss them as much as I would have thought. Wilson's sometimes sparring relationship with House has always been one of my favourite parts of the show, it gets ample time in this episode, as does House's ongoing challenge to prove himself right over Cuddy.

The story itself is typical House, in itself, but seeing him tackle it alone was different, and there was the 'twist' ending, which worked pretty well.

All in all, a pretty decent start to the season

Made me chuckle when he sat at his desk and opened the paper up to read

I've avoided spoilers for House so I've no idea whether Foreman et al will be coming back at all. I suspect so, but the closing scenes tend to suggest not, so I'll be interested to see how this situation plays out. From memory I can't remember if the cast members names are in the opening credits or not.

One of the things I've always enjoyed about House are the different dynamics amongst House and his peers/charges. His relationship with his team for example is completely different to that which he has with Wilson/Cuddy.

Oh, I never thought to look closely at the opening credits. But then I know the secret ... which I won't reveal.

The team had become so ingrained that, even tho I don't particularly admire any of them as actors, I missed them. :tear: And, of course, a great deal of the fun of the show came from House insulting them. Someone should compile and publish them ("...and the Aussi will run like a scared wombat." :D )

When I die, no doubt this will have been one of my favorite series I've ever seen. In fact, I'd like to die as a patient of House, trading insults with him and asking Cameron or Cuddy for a last favor. :naughty:

Up until about 2 years ago I watched very, very little drama. My viewing preferences were completely skewed towards sci-fi/fantasy. It was the continual disappointment of seeing some of my favourite shows cancelled on an annual basis that eventually Jeeves & Wooster etc. Fantastic, but the writing is consistently brilliant, both in terms of character and plot narrative.

Long may it continue.

Hurray ! The bestest thing on television is back !! :lmao:

Loved this episode - even now, the thought of ` Dr Buffer ` has me in giggles.

But it`s not as funny as House`s guitar getting kidnapped. And being threatened with torture. :lmao:

Quite sad at the end with the mistaken identity ; never saw that coming at all. :(

I missed the 3 stooges ( ;) ) in the first few mins of the episode, but then it was so fast paced that I got over it. :)
