Title: Dexter - FX Pace

Fangy and grrr - September 11, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
I don't suspose there are that many episodes left but I thought I'd start an FX pace thread in the brand new section anyway.

I have to admit after being really excited about the show I was a little underwhelmed at first but its really grown on me and I love it now.

Now that we know who the Ice Truck Killer is the thing that I'm dying to know is how on earth he knows so much about Dexter. :ponder:

I'm the same, Tom. I was dying to see it but when it actually started I wondered what all the fuss was about  But it's one of those slow growing shows and now, like you, I love it

I think Michael C Hall is brilliant and possibly even deserves an award for his portrayal.

And the bold move to reveal the killer part way through the show rather than have it serve as a finale just adds to the suspense now since we know Deb is dating him as well as trying to catch him

All very well done and I hope it keeps getting better

And it gets more nail biting as the weeks go on.

I absolutely cannot wait to see the new season starting in a couple of weeks

I agree Michael C Hall was outstanding

How many episodes are left on FX now?

A friend of mine from work was most upset recently. After hearing me go on about how great Dexter was she started watching it on FX but then Viring stopped showing the FX channel on the basic package!!!! I've had to lend her my copies, LOL!!!

Oh, I second the excitement for season 2

Yesterday's episode was the penultimate one. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet but it's on the list for later or tomorrow

I know what you mean, I had to steady my nerve to watch

Shame, it's such a great story

I really enjoyed the finale.

It wasn’t perfect but it was a pretty good conclusion to a really enjoyable season (still feels strange talking about enjoying a show with so much blood and gruesomeness but I think you know what I mean). :)

Didn’t guess Rudy/Brian would turn out to be Dexter’s brother my only thought was that maybe he was the original killer of Dex’s parents. Never really thought Dex would kill Deb but I did find him hovering over her with the knife pretty tense to watch. :o I thought Dexter’s explanation about getting a phone call from Rudy a bit lame and I can’t believe that when they found out Rudy’s real identity they weren’t ( or won’t be ) able to connect him to Dexter. :ponder:

I did think it was going to end with Rudy on the loose so him turning up again was a surprise but while it was great to see Dexter put him down in fitting fashion it is going to leave a big hole in the next season. Still it was great to see the tension between Dexter and Doakes finally come out into the open and of course now thingy/ Darla ( sorry can’t think of her name  ) is beginning to suspect things aren’t quite back to normal.

Loved Dexter’s hero’ reception at the end.

Well, I have to say I found it fantastic

Having watched American drama for years and become a bit jaded about storylines and how easy it is for me to me figure out what's going on, I'm always on the lookout for a show that still can surprise me and this one did

I didn't forsee the brother thing at all :o neither did I see Dexter trapping Rudy on his own and extracting his own revenge :o

I'm dying to see season 2 now to see where that takes us and just to watch Michael C Hall being such a brilliant actor

It is such a great reveal, Rudy should never have messed with Debs !

I hope Rita sticks by Dexter, they make such a good couple. When we met Julie Benz she was so excited by the character and show

Are you going to join us watch at US pace?

buffy_fan1 - September 30, 2007 09:19 PM (GMT)
I finally was able to see the season finale on Friday wow I really did see the whole Rudy is Dexter's brother thing I knew they must some kind of connection yet some how I did expect that. Doakes was really starting to get on my nerves picking a fight with Dexter not the smartest thing he could have done lucky for him Dexter has a code.

I do hope Rita stays with Dexter after everything she has been thought I can understand why she has difficulties trusting people and find Paul's shoe must make her questions if Dexter is the perfect man she seemed to think he was. Can she really be that upset that he hit Paul he was trying to take her children from her he and was just dangerous as ever despite his act.

My favourite part was the seen at the end as Dexter thinks about what his life would be like if people excepted their darker sides and he could seen as the hero who kept people safe by doing what does best all he wouldn't have to hide.

I love to join in at US pace but can't due to computer issues :( so it looks like have a long wait for season 2.

Outta Sight - October 1, 2007 06:23 PM (GMT)
Sadly, I can't watch at US pace either since I'm still on dial up at home  Plus I'd have to watch it on computer screen since my pc doesn't have dvd recording facilities  but I'm actually OK with that. I've got a lot of other stuff to watch so waiting for season 2 will just whet my appetite
