| If you're scratching your head why a collectors edition of Joss Whedon's "Serenity" is on its way (Aug 21), never underestimate teh devotion of a rabid fan base. Even though the TV show was cancelled, and the movie underperformed at the box office, the DVDs of each have done extraordinarily well. Subsequent international editions of "Serenity" were packed with additional bous material not found on on the first U.S. Edition. Now, after some serious lobbying, die-hard fans-dubbed browncoats, named after a group of rebels in the show- will get a new DVD that contains these features, which include. Feature Commentary The first DVD of the "Big Damn Movie" (as Browncoats like to call it) only contained Whedon's commentary, but a new one includes new input from him, and stars Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, Ron Glass and Summer Glau. Session 416 As part of the films internet based viral campaign, Whedon created five short videos that chronicled therapist interviews with River Tam (Glau), set before the events of the "Firefly" series. Script to Screen A new documentary follows Whedon's journey from crafting the script to directing the film. Sci Fi Insider SCI FI channels behind the scenes documentary of the making of the film is now included. Fruity Oaty Bars Previously only available as an Easter Egg on the "normal version" of the DVD, fans can now watch this silly commercial in its entirety. In the film the ad contained subliminal messages which set River off. Will it do the same to you? |
