He doesn't do anything by halves

Michelle - June 26, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
I'm annoyed I forgot to watch any Wimbledon last night. <_< I'll try and catch some highlights of the Tim match tonight. :)

Quite amazed he got through...but for how long will it last.... :ermm:

Hippy - June 27, 2007 02:19 PM (GMT)

willowroolz - June 28, 2007 12:49 PM (GMT)
Henman loses first set. The shock. The horror.

Hippy - June 28, 2007 01:44 PM (GMT)
Just lost set numero two as well

Outta Sight - June 28, 2007 01:46 PM (GMT)
Taxi for Henman?

Hippy - June 28, 2007 02:12 PM (GMT)
Hold the Taxi :o

Our man Tim is 5-2 up in the third

willowroolz - June 28, 2007 02:26 PM (GMT)
I'm sure that'll give the commentators cause to start blathering on about how this might be his year AGAIN

Outta Sight - June 28, 2007 02:35 PM (GMT)
I'll ask the taxi to wait anyway

Outta Sight - June 28, 2007 02:37 PM (GMT)
Just opened up the live scoreboard, I'm letting the taxi go

Hippy - June 28, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
5-1 in the fourth

The man's a legend

willowroolz - June 28, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
Don't be too hasty, there's still time for him to do the honourable English thing and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

I don't know, the radio says Lopez is looking exhausted and may have used up all his strength winning the first 2 sets and has nothing left

willowroolz - June 28, 2007 02:49 PM (GMT)
Hang on. It's 5-2. It's a fight-fightback :o

Hippy - June 28, 2007 02:51 PM (GMT)
Nah, just went with serve thats all :)

2-2 and Timmy has the bit between his teeth :ph43r:

Goooooo Tiger :ph43r:

Outta Sight - June 28, 2007 02:53 PM (GMT)
I've never been a huge Timmy fan but he deserves to win this just for that amazing comeback

willowroolz - June 28, 2007 02:53 PM (GMT)
And there was me thinking the only way he'd make it into the second week was if it rained from now until Sunday

Outta Sight - June 28, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
Nah, he's tanking  :( I'll call that taxi back

willowroolz - June 28, 2007 03:24 PM (GMT)
Defeat. Jaws. Victory.

Hippy - June 28, 2007 03:24 PM (GMT)
:lmao:

Good ol' Timmy :)

Outta Sight - June 28, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
At least he's consistent  Even if it is consistently shit <_<

Hippy - June 28, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
In fairness to Timmy, he is one of the best tennis players we've produced over the last 30 years. 4 or so tournament wins and semi finals at Wimbledon is pretty good, he just wasn't quite good enough to win the big ones  :)

Outta Sight - June 28, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
No, he's not that bad, it's just frustrating to get your hopes up and then have them dashed. Hopefully, when Andy Murray is better we may have better luck

Hippy - June 28, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
Ah, simply expect that they'll lose and then you'll be pleasantly surprised when they don't

Learnt that watching English cricket teams throughout the nineties

Yes, cos all the Scots out there support Henman, obviously, so we should support Murray? Hmm, don't think so :ph43r:

We all (well, some of us) rooted for Rusedski and he was Canadian, ffs

Okay,

a ) never could stand Rusedski

and

b ) that's got nothing to do with it

I don't hear the Canadians loudly cheering on anyone that English players or teams come up against the way some Scots (including Andy Murray) do, so I can see no reason to offer my support to one of their players/teams

Outta Sight - June 29, 2007 10:27 AM (GMT)
But he represents Great Britain and that means we may have a chance at not looking so crap

But if you want to boycott him, go ahead, you....you...anti-brit, you :snooty:

Federer and Roddick up today (not together) and both third in line so I may actually get to see some play  If the rain stays off :ermm:

Actually, it's not true. I'd support any Scottish team playing Chelsea

Outta Sight - June 29, 2007 11:44 AM (GMT)
Goodness, you're in a kind and loving mood today, aren't you?

jamiearmour - June 29, 2007 11:51 AM (GMT)
Steve, for shame.

I support any Brit at Wimbledon, be they Rusdski, Murray, or even Henpecked, sorry, I meant Henman

The reason that Scots don't seem to give a flying **** about English players and Tennis in general, is purely because up until Murray came along, nobody could think of a Scot from living memory who managed to do much of anything in the Tennis world  So it's not that they hated the English players, it's just that we hated all players, in my case, especiallly Man-tina Navratalova. She scared me :fear:
