Title: Silly notions?

Random acts of wild speculation in/of/about the Buffyverse.
1. With the popularity of comic book movies in recent years, could the massive success of the Buffy "season 8" books, lead to a new movie?
Discuss.

that would be great
but i suppose it will depend if the number of sale stay regular and high
:ponder:
and then they will have to think of a plot able to top the comics

The books? Not in themselves. They would have to be part of a larger pattern that represents a large, hungry audience out there.
Remember STAR TREK? (Well, those of you old enuf to remember.) That fandom grew and grew. The TV series continued in reruns to enthusiastic audiences, alongside books and other linked merchandise. So enthusiastic was the following that they were able to host conventions with huge attendances. I doubt many people were surprised to see a movie attempt (altho, considering that dreary effort, I was surprised that there was a second).
If I were to predict, BUFFY has the legs (pun not intended -- okay, okay -- so it was!) to pull that off. But it's something that will take several years. But hopefully not the decades that it took for STAR TREK.

I hope and prey there will be a Buffy movie from what I hear the comic book are selling really well. Newcastle's FP always sell out the same day when new issues are released (I don't know the rest of the uk?) and they action figures and books planned so if Buffy merchandise to sell well I think maybe hope after all if there wasn't a demand for it they wouldn't keep producing it. As we know Hollywood is always looking for a money maker and in Buffy you've got a sure thing.
Now that Joss is no longer directing Wonder Woman he might just be available? The cast wouldn't be a problem Alyson has already said she would be happy return as long Joss was in charge I think the would be the case for most the cast. Sarah has alway been a little reluctant but if was if big cinema release I like she would have a change of heart.
We can only hope!
