Title: 1X20
Description: Hiro and Hiro

TV Yank - May 1, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
That's better. Another episode that focuses on one plot. What Hiro and Ando find 5 years hence.

A nifty thing about time-travel stories is that the writer has a galaxy's width of latitude. Anything can happen as long as the main plot isn't corrupted, leaving the viewer with the feeling of being cheated.

The writers' took full advantage of that. They gave us surprise after surprise.

A very tense, engrossing episode.

 Excellent episode, it was great to see the dark side to so many characters. Most of them managed to do the right thing by the end but Matt :o won't be trusting him anymore.

I must admit I was puzzled by Nathan for a while, I couldn't believe he could turn on his own like that, now Sylar I get :fear:

Can't wait for future Peter  how cool was the fight to get present Hiro :yahoo:

Much, much better

In essence it was just another episode full of talking heads, but at least there was good reason for it this time. I always like seeing alternate universe stories, which I assume this is because I have to believe that Hiro will change the past etc etc. I liked the grizzled version of Matt, and Bennet as some kind of sub-Schindler. I also thought Claire looked a damn sight better as a brunette :ph43r:

Best of all, though, was Peter. This hardened vision of a weary soldier worked really well, I thought, and although I was a little peed off that they pulled their punches again with the action sequence at the end, in that we really didn't see much of what went on (hopefully because they're saving the surprises for the next couple of episodes, please please), it still managed to remind me of Neo and Trinity going after Morpheus in the first Matrix movie :)

Talking of movies, it can't be any coincidence that the whole "mutants as enemies of humankind" plot mirrored that of the X Men movies so closely...

I also like that Future Hiro became the man he is/was because he had lost Ando. Quite touching.

But that's enough now. Enough of the talk. Enough of the exposition. If this "does a Lost" and concludes its first season without so much as a whimper I will be seriously annoyed. Let's have the action, and let's have it NOW!

Sorry, that's just my timeline I'm reccounting

What a fantastic episode, plenty of twists and turns to keep our attention and to make sure that we were paying attention.

The whole "Sylar did it" thing did throw me for a loop for a few moments, as my mind reeled about thinking "How the f**k?" But obviously, the master manipulator that is/was Nathan, would have protected his brother at all (and I do mean all) costs.

It did suffer from what I feel is a terrible US cliche, future Hiro (when trying to save himself) was swinging that big sword about taking out guards left and right, but was there a drop of blood to be seen anywhere? Nope, not a drop

Ah well, but with the gunplay later on, my bloodthirst was sated

A great ending, but was I alone in waiting to see New York explode seconds after Hiro and Ando returned to "the present"?

OK, just me then?

Nope, I thought that too :)

Did anyone else notice a continuity error when Future Hiro and Ando escaped from Isaac's apartment? When they were inside there was sunshine coming through the windows, when they ran into the alley it was night time. Then they switched back to Matt and "our" Hiro and it was daytime again. Or was it my imagination?

Time travel causes all kinds of anomalies.

I am awaiting my reward from Mr Kring for dealing with this continuity question.

Excellent, as always! I can't believe we are nearly at the end  I hope, as Steve says, it ends in a blaze of glory rather than a damp squib!!!

I'm getting the distinct impression, that we will be in for "fireworks"

The last three confrontations between Sylar and Peter have been, shall we say, disappointing, and I'm clinging to the hope that the fourth one is the charm

Haha, I was the same the minute mine was activated, I think I was downloading season 7 of Buffy or 5 of Angel though.

And as for this episode of Heroes -

I don't think I can add anything that hasn't already been said. I was sat on the edge of my seat, especially when it was revealed Sylar was still alive and posing as the now president.

Having just seen the trailer for the next episode called "The Hard Part" all I can say is, you'll be keeping that edge of your seat warm again when you see it :o
