Or you could 'acquire' it in the morning - Canada got it 2 days before the US :)

Crichton Kicks - April 14, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
I'm 'acquiring' it right now.....

Me too ;)

Typical, episode 2 has finished before episode 1 :tear:

Phillip Culley - April 14, 2007 02:12 PM (GMT)
Well, we got through half an hour of it and gave up - not sure just what that has to say about it. :)

Shame really, as there's precious little on TV Friday nights, and had it been better we'd have had something to watch...

prophecy girl - April 14, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)

usatoday preview of drive

Crichton Kicks - April 14, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
We thought it was alright. Nothing special but certainly worth watching if there's not much on. Doesn't look like it'll be the kind of show where you can miss too many episodes though. Probably also helps if you're a fan of The Amazing Race, seeing as it's practically a dramatisation of that show.

Not bad, but hopefully it will get a bit better though.

Tim Minear - "Drive" Tv Series - Tvguide.com interview

Phillip Culley - April 15, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
I swear they're really trying to confuse us - looks like Episode 3 is on Fox tomorrow in the Prison Break slot. Odd - the only advert I saw for it promoted the Sunday broadcast, but didn't mention the next episode being on the following day....

Crichton Kicks - April 15, 2007 07:57 PM (GMT)
Doesn't bode well for the ratings.....

TV Yank - April 15, 2007 08:13 PM (GMT)
More telling of the nework's feelings towards the show is the fact that it is starting now instead of at the beginning of a season. Expectations must not be high.

melian - April 16, 2007 02:32 PM (GMT)
I kinda liked it, and not just because it means I get to watch Nathan Fillion every week

Seems like it could be interesting to see all these peoples stories, and just what the penalty for coming last will be each leg.

I wonder if they will bring new characters in from some of the other cars?

TV Yank - April 16, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
From a MediaWatch article:

In series-premiere news, the two-hour launch of Fox drama DRIVE was stuck in second gear, with a mere (and fourth-place) 3.8/ 6 from 8-10 p.m. Despite the massive promotional hype, DRIVE only built from week-ago repeats ... by 9 percent... Here is the half-hour breakdown for the disappointing Drive:

8:00 p.m. 4.0/ 6
8:30 p.m. 3.9/ 6
9:00 p.m. 3.6/ 5
9:30 p.m. 3.7/ 5

Phillip Culley - April 16, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
I should think being against (ironically) The Amazing Race and Desperate Housewives wouldn't help the figures at all...

prophecy girl - April 17, 2007 08:55 AM (GMT)
:ermm: quite an ok first episode, but they need to tell us more about the characters

:ponder: about the penality at the end of the course, is there a specific reason or they are just playing with the loser?

Crichton Kicks - April 17, 2007 09:13 AM (GMT)
Given the mediocre numbers for the premiere episodes it'll be interesting to see what episode three got, given that they moved it to a different night. Will anyone have noticed? Probably not. This one might be quite shortlived afterall.

The curse of Nathan Fillion strikes again!

They'll probably add Ben Browder and Claudia Black to the cast for an extra double whammy

Crichton Kicks - April 17, 2007 09:33 AM (GMT)
At least they didn't start with the perennial jonah, Chris Gorham in the cast; Odyssey 5, Medical Investigation, Jake 2.0 etc etc All one-season wonders! He stole the title from Daniel Dae Kim, now that Lost has survived for a few seasons.

A Whedonist discusses Drive (yay!), Fox TV executives (boo!), and the various exciting ways that Joss kills off characters we love (sigh!). (minor spoilers)

Crichton Kicks - April 17, 2007 09:46 AM (GMT)
A crying shame that he can't kill off a few FOX TV Executives, exciting or otherwise!

I'm a big fan, obviously, but the guy's the kiss of death for a series (apart from his guest slot on CSI...)

Well, I think I saw 4x01 & 4x02 about 12 months ago. Actually, it was at least 12 months ago, got a feeling it could be even longer than that!

Saw the third episode last night. Looks a bit more promising :)

prophecy girl - April 19, 2007 09:29 AM (GMT)
second episode was a little better but maybe too much "history" for each character (are they going to mention more past race?) about the way they deal with the penalty from last episode :ponder:

melian - April 19, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
I thought it was handled rather well :snooty: But then again I love Melanie Linskey ;)

"Drive" Tv Series - 1x03 "Let the Games Begin" - Tvsquad.com review

prophecy girl - April 25, 2007 09:24 AM (GMT)
1.3

one revelation after another, after another, after another ..... bringing more mystery and questions. still the episode was fun. but it's kinda "trust no one" as each characters met are not what they seem. each character seem to have a major secret but we slowly start to see it bit by bit.

so more actions, more rescue, more driving.

another great episode
