For their first ever trip in the TARDIS, The Doctor and Martha land unexpectedly in 1599 Elizabethan London. They quickly discover that the world is under threat from the evil Carronites and history's most celebrated playwright William Shakespeare is under the control of the sinister witch-like creatures.

Although I'm not a Harry Potter fan at all, I did find the references funny knowing that DT has appeared in one of the films iirc.
The Doctor's still missing Rose terribly, and it's annoying the hell out of Martha. Is this gonna be a recuring theme through the season or does he just need her to listen to him and help him grieve?
Thought the performances from Dean Lennox Kelly and Christina Cole were excellent.

Enjoyed it, thought it looked amazing, amazing make-up.

Are bits of it being dumbed down for the audience ? Just thinking of the heart bit this week and last week`s shoe radiation gag.

It was bugging me all through the episode who the girl playing Lilith was, she was in Hex!! And I didn't even realise that Shakespeare was played by Kev from Shameless.

A fun episode even if at times I was thinking the witches story is a bit silly, why it didn't occur to me that they would be aliens is beyond me. It wasn't until we saw the first portal that i suddenly twigged. I did like Martha in this episode and felt quite sorry for her when she was with The Doctor on the bed. Lets hope The Doctor will feel able to open up to Martha about Rose in time.
I also liked the Harry Potter reference, especially the book 7 comment.

Decent episode I'm not a Shakespeare fan but I liked all the gags about his lines, the Globe looked great and I thought DLK was very good as Shakespeare. :)

Martha continues to be very likeable imo and I wondered when they went back in time whether or not they would mention her being black or just completely ignore it but I was glad they addressed it.

the doctor and his two hearts (saved by it, will it be something we gonna have every episode :ponder: )

so/so episode, the special effects were great, love the words have power (in 1499 only)

shakespeare looked great

Martha and freedonia  , has to deal with the doctor and his issue about losing rose and yet, it is suppose to be a one trip thing (maybe the writers should have brought a shrink not a doctor  ). is she gonna stick with mr Smith in place of Doctor

ok i wanna hear/see what happenned with elizabeth I to have her upset (obviously the doctor met her while looking like DT  ) only the second queen that the doctor upset

Doctor Who threatened by football
The next episode of hit sci-fi series Doctor Who will be shelved for a week if Saturday's FA Cup semi-final runs into extra time.
BBC One is showing Watford's clash with Manchester United before the drama, and says it will postpone the show to make way for any extra play or penalties.

A spokeswoman said the programme could not be broadcast after extra time as it would be "too late" for younger fans.

Saturday's episode features comedian Ardal O'Hanlon as a guest star.

If it is postponed, it will have a knock-on effect on BBC Three's schedules for the rest of the week.

Behind-the-scenes show Doctor Who Confidential, which normally goes out straight after the BBC One programme, will also be postponed for a week.

It will be replaced by Rose - the very first episode of the revamped Doctor Who series from 2005.

New York Daleks

On Sunday, when the BBC One show is usually repeated, viewers will see The Christmas Invasion, 2005's festive special.

Doctor Who has been a huge ratings success for the BBC, with 8.2 million viewers tuning in for the first episode of series three.

The opening programme saw the Doctor, played by David Tennant, joined by a new assistant, trainee doctor Martha Jones - played by actress Freema Agyeman.

Last week's show saw the time-travellers visit Shakespearean London. A future episode features the Daleks invading New York.

The BBC says the decision on whether to pull this week's show from the Saturday evening schedule will be made "on the day".
