Title: The Apprentice S3

Laura - March 28, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
Anyone else watching this?

I have to say both teams seemed completely out of control this week (what's new?).
I'm not liking Jadine's style and can see some major clashes between her and Tre if they keep these two teams.
I think the right decision was made, Andy didn't have control of his team and his decision to pull the mobile unit seemed nuts to me. But the decision to put the mobile unit where it was originally was stupid, as was the amount of milk bought .

prophecy girl - March 29, 2007 09:17 AM (GMT)
maybe it would have been too early in the show to fire the guy who tried to get his company name as his team name

andy didn't have the control of the girls and i think his expectation (1000 coffee to be sold) was just over the top

not sure about jadine but she started critisizing her team (who "mostly" was happy with her leadership ............. as opposite as andy) before she even knew the result, there will be a problem sooner or later.

Fangy and grrr - March 29, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
I think Jadine's team got lucky as on the You're Fired programme they seemed to say that Andy's team actually sold more it was just that their profits were hit because of all the over-ordering they did.

The really scary thing for me is that Jadine is exactly like my manager - the exact same confrontational, always in the right style. :fear: :)

endgame - March 30, 2007 08:31 AM (GMT)
Did anyone else cringe when Jadine started singing when they went to that office with the coffee? And the whole "we're selling an experince" - David Brent anyone?

They all seem pretty annoying already <_<

Yeah, that was just awful. My mum actually changed the channel to check on the Scotland game at that point because she couldn't watch

I had to put the tv on mute.

same here

I didn't think there would be someone I disliked more than Tre but Rory managed it. His management style was just awful, I agree with the comments made that compared it to an old schoolteacher. And not listening to the focus group was a really bad idea, even if the results were coming a bit too late.
I respected Ifti admitting that he didn't do much in this task and Sir Alan was right to let him go.

kicking it old school - April 5, 2007 08:38 AM (GMT)
Rory was unbearable (though I did like his accent...), thank god he's gone. No wonder he's bankrupt, he's a terrible businessman!

How come two went this week? Was it planned, or was it because Ifti all but resigned?

goth willow fan - April 5, 2007 08:49 AM (GMT)
Don't think AS had much choice after Ifti basically said "I give up".

Tre won't last long if he keeps confronting everyone all the time, especially if he shows attitude to AS  .

prophecy girl - April 5, 2007 08:53 AM (GMT)
i think it was firing someone on the task not on the fact that the guy was missing his family and was willing to go. the boardroom is about firing someone after a discussion between three people (ok two here). i don't know if rory knew about ifty wanting to go or if he just choose him because it was an easy choice for the boardroom. :ponder:

rory had no chance against tre ........... that guy is a talking machine but i doubt he is going to be in the last three

Tre reminds me a lot of Syed last year. Syed nearly got fired once because he couldn't keep quiet but was given the opportunity to show that he could change and become a bit more respectful.

prophecy girl - April 12, 2007 01:48 PM (GMT)
kissomatic :ermm:

tre swearing and talking machine :ermm: ( @ the count in the apprentice you are fired)

jadine is a bit like like tre with a better vocabulary :ermm:  , but i think she won't go very far if she continue to b.tch after her colleagues/team mates

goth willow fan - April 12, 2007 02:14 PM (GMT)
LMAO at the lovebirds

from hints on You're Fired sounds like it's continued :)

prophecy girl - April 19, 2007 01:41 PM (GMT)
gee, losing for a difference of £10

:ermm: how hard it is to sell sweets to kids (well to the parents)?

but anyway why did sophie applied for the apprentice if she doesn't like the sale world (making profit being the main job) or didn't even try to look it up (it's not that hard to find article about sales and everything else on the net)? and is not motivated by money (i suppose sir alan was right to fire her but teamleader didn't really do a great job)

Laura - April 20, 2007 12:26 PM (GMT)
They forgot the sticks for the lollies . Wouldn't it have saved time for one of those at the kitchen to nip to the nearest town and get some rather than the other half of the team traipsing down from London? :ermm:

Was it ever explained why Sophie wanted to get into business? :ermm:

prophecy girl - April 20, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)

paul:let sell some cheese to the french  (as if we didn't have enough)

i suppose they didn't have enough time but they could have try to check with marks and spencer (ok they closed every shops in france but still) what english products was bought by the french.

kicking it old school - May 3, 2007 05:06 PM (GMT)
Although Paul was totally rubbish, it was kinda sad to see him go, he's so funny!

And poor Adam :( Everyone else in the house bullies him, it's really mean... I think he's done a pretty good job in all the tasks, but unless he's on the winning team he'll always be in the final 3 cos everyone else hates him :(

Tre was great, as usual

prophecy girl - May 3, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
paul brought two people mostly for personal reason (even if adam made a mistake with the money for the marketing) and was a little too confident that he was gonna stay.

tre is lucky he has been in the winning team each time because i doubt he will save himself in the boardroom (would he explain his relation problem with the other because of it might be because of their"time of the month" <_< )

Fangy and grrr - May 3, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
I didn't really like Adam but since everyone ( the posh twits in particular ) started picking on him I've started rooting for him. :o

Paul seemed quite competent up until this week but he just seemed to fall apart and even on the radio today he was still defending the decision to buy the cheese.

What a bitch Katie has turned out to be :o some great oneliners though. And once again Tre was good value. :)

Yeah, since they've pretty much started to bully Adam (and evil Katie wanting him to be run over :ermm: ) I've started to root for him too.

Really dislike Paul and Katie and was rooting for Kristina. She had a point, Paul was being an idiot. Both French speakers off together leaving the rest of the team struggling to make themselves understood at the stall, so so stupid .

Laura - May 9, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Just when I think to myself that I can't hate Katie anymore than I do already she goes and does something even more unlikeable. Her grinning all the way through the boardroom just made me want to hit her. And the "head back to the North where he belongs" comment, what a snobby cow <_<.
I agree that Adam had to go, he's been in the boardroom too many times and tbh he just isn't up to the job.

prophecy girl - May 10, 2007 09:15 AM (GMT)
adam thought he could play the personal card against katie and katie fought back (a good point) but she had that little smile during the whole boardroom <_< (i think christina is gonna hear about it as sir allan kinda implied she was the one who first mentionned the personal stuff  )

but losing for 97 pences

Kristina had a point when she brought up their relationship last week though. How much of Paul not bringing Katie into the boardroom had to do with what was going on? And because they were close it meant that they both went off leaving the rest of the team (who didn't speak the language). As far as we saw, Adam's drinking didn't cause any problems.

Apprentice gets two more series
Hit BBC One show The Apprentice has been signed up for two more series.
The programme, currently in its third series, follows contestants as they compete for a job with business tycoon Sir Alan Sugar.

"We're delighted we're doing another two series. The show is fantastic and proving popular with young audiences, too," said a BBC spokeswoman.

The format is based on the US show of the same name but it was recently dropped from NBC's autumn schedule.

New pastures

Donald Trump stars in the US version, which began in 2004.

The Bafta-winning UK version has been a ratings success since it began in 2005, moving from BBC Two to BBC One for the third series.

Both winners from the first two series have since moved on to other jobs. Tim Campbell, who was kept on after his 12-month contract with Sir Alan's company Amstrad ended, is planning to start a male grooming business.

Series two winner Michelle Dewsbury left Amstrad after only a few months in the job.

Is anyone else still watching?

She's gone! :yahoo:

I wish Sugar had fired her though <_< . I'd heard rumours about what happened but I was still in shock at the end of the programme. She didn't do too well on You're Fired either, Michelle Mone didn't like her at all :ermm: . Lets hope she disappears back to obscurity soon .......

I think Kristina should win but Sugar seems to have a soft spot for Simon (who I almost felt a bit sorry for this week because he seemed really nervousand looked a bit bewildered after the interviews) so it might be a close one. The final should be good though :)

prophecy girl - June 7, 2007 08:51 AM (GMT)
i didn't see that coming but i think it was a good thing sir allan kinda pressurize katie to make sure she was not going to let him down

tre and lohit out

katie in the finale but having an after-thought (sure blame on the parents being able or not to keep your kids for a year or so , as if she couldn't have plan it before applying for the job ). still her decision to stand down kinda make it look good

i think kristina have a little more chance to win than simon but you never know, all depend of the finale challenge and who they will have in the team.

prophecy girl - June 14, 2007 09:26 AM (GMT)
was sir allan looking for a entertaiment guy? :lmao:

i hope none of the business man that simon will met in the future have watched the apprentice you are hired because he is gonna hear about it for a very long time (the trampoline is not going to be forgotten  )

i think kristina was the best choice, imo

does the BBC have the rights for the apprentice USA? or did they give up on it? :ponder:

Sugar rejects BBC 'nasty' image
Sir Alan Sugar has criticised the BBC for portraying him as "Mr Nasty" in reality TV show The Apprentice.
The 60-year-old, who is about to front the fourth series of the show, said his fearsome boardroom image is not right.

"Like it or not, and I don't like it that much, there's a perception of me just banging the table and shouting," the businessman told the Radio Times.

The tycoon is well known for giving contestants a hard time after tasks that are set to find a new trainee.

Business empire

He revealed it is a "continual argument" he has with the production team about how he is perceived.

"The BBC has categorised me as Mr Nasty, so all the humour ends up on the cutting room floor," he said.

This year's 16 contestants reportedly include a BBC radio sports presenter, a woman who claims to be descended from royalty and an IT expert who won a pay-out after suing her City law firm.

The winner of the series, which starts next week, will be given a job with a six-figure salary within Sir Alan's business empire.

Last year's winner was public school-educated Simon Ambrose, who beat single mother and the series favourite, Kristina Grimes.

ITV1 talent show drama Rock Rivals attracted 2.2 million viewers.
