Title: The Next Doctor??? POSSIBLE SPOLIERS
Description: The new thread for rumors....

Dan Brown - March 24, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
So POSSIBLE SPOILERAGE BELOW

Anyone reading The Sun and other rags will possibly note that again the rumor mill to Tennants departure have begun. This time the rumors are that this is indeed Tennants last series and in the last episode he will regenerate.

To be replaced by Tony Blair.

Well The Tony Blair from the film 'The Queen'.

Michael Sheen is apparently going to be the new Doctor Who to appear as Tennant did in the last scene of this series.

Well I don't know? Is this true? Haven't seen The Queen and I haven't seen him in anything else so I don't know whether he'd be any good?

Time will tell, and the rumors will continue......

Seems as the series begins we already know thanks to the tabloid press, which enemies are returning, the guest stars etc. etc.

Well price to pay for it being so popluar.

Hmmm. He'd be an interesting choice if it was true.

He's got the varied career and range to make it workable. I loved his portrayal of Kenneth Williams in Fantabulosa.

I wouldn't normally put much faith in tabloid stories, but they have somehow managed to be right in their Doctor Who related stories in the past

Well if it is true the press or The Sun to be more precise are contradicting themselves here as well. As I remember reading a while back that they had 'insider knowledge' that Tennant was under a 3 series deal worth £1 million.

I also recall another rumor of a mid series regeneration in season 4, which would be interesting and would suit the Christmas special better.

I know little to nothing about Michael Sheen, so I can't pass judgement, but again I put my trust in Russell T Davies. Whoever and whenever a new Doctor is cast as long as he is behind the scenes I think it will come out well.

As with Doctor Who and the tabloids, they have been quite varied in accuracy...I certainly recall them announcing with alot of certainty Bill Nighy as the new Doctor and then the next day the BBC coming out with the fact that they had actually given the job to Christopher Eccleston.
